  1. Hmmm...welp, I've got nothing. Guess you'll know soon enough. You'll have to give us an update ☺️.
  2. Do you happen to have the original e-mail sent to you Re. bidding? That's how I placed my bid as it never did show in my cruise planner.
  3. Happens to the best of us, my friend! Just today I texted DH about our dinner plans...or so I thought. My neighbor responded with, "Sounds good, be right over!"...lol...glad my text was only about dinner 😁.
  4. I hope you get the room...but you probably won't know for sure up until 48 hours before departure...as I read it on the bidding site. Good luck!!
  5. How do you check the status of your bid? EDIT: I figured it out. I have 2 offers pending and our cruise is Nov. 26. Both offers show "strong" on the meter but there are no rooms in either categories showing as available...so I'm not counting on either offer being accepted.
  6. We are on the November sailing as well. Regarding Carnival, I really liked their offer of a comped balcony stateroom for 7 nights...much better than the inside category X is offering. I turned the Carnival offer into a Celebrity offer using URComped. They honored it! Only difference was it was for 6 nights instead of 7. Point is, perhaps you could take one of those Carnival offers and do the same!
  7. It's likely that you are now locked in to the cabin you've been assigned. Concierge class includes an embarkation day lunch in the MDR while other categories must dine in the buffet or a specialty like Sushi on 5. Suites can dine in Luminae. The other perks of this category are nominal IMO but I think you'll like it!
  8. Sounds like you are getting the better end of the stick! As a guarantee booking, your room is subject to change for a variety of reasons. How soon before you sail? and how soon after you initially booked were you assigned your cabin?
  9. I highly recommend the lemon tarts...ask for 2 at a time... and the macaroons!
  10. Just came across this video of Captain Kate on the Beyond talking about the 2 names Celebrity were toying with before settling with Xcel. Seems there has to be certain criteria met in the naming of the ship: 1. Has to be 6 letters or less 2. Can't be a name used on a previous cruise ship 3. Has to represent the pinnacle of the E class fleet since it's the last one... Here's the video...
  11. Check in for my cruise in a few weeks was 5 days late...had me all in a tizzy!
  12. The color of the X appears to be the same as the magic carpet color on the side of the E class ships. Maybe they are trying to tie in the hideous color choice of the MC with the brand itself.
  13. From one Georgia Peach to another, I will be following along with great interest! Wishing you a fabulous cruise on what sounds like a wonderful itinerary!
  14. Just read the entire thread. Lots of good info here! Right or wrong, if one thinks something is one way and then learns it’s another…it can be disappointing. OP, I think I’d get the refund and start over.
  15. $500 per day losses to qualify for end of cruise OBC makes me feel queasy just thinking about it. 😵‍💫 I’m currently at the Amethyst level. Priority embarkation (a listed perk) apparently isn’t a thing, unlimited digital photos (another perk) isn’t really of interest to me, I do appreciate the free play, tho. Agree about the frustration of getting a live person on the Blue Chip line.
  16. I received the same e-mail and also found nothing to book for Chef's table when I clicked the link. In the past, we've booked the Chef's table once on board. Not sure of the point of an e-mail that leads to everything EXCEPT what is being advertised in the said e-mail. 💁‍♀️
  17. Does each leg of your cruise have a different booking number? I have no experience with this but it would stand to reason that the 2 bottles (1 per person) would apply for each leg of the cruise. Im assuming that 7 days x 3 = 3 cruises or 6 bottles max. Worst case you could take 6 bottles on your initial embarkation day and explain that you are on a b2b2b.. ask them to hold the excess bottles and have them delivered at the beginning of each leg of your cruise.
  18. We got bumped for a charter on Celebrity once. It was a “clothing optional”sort of fare… not our cup of tea. Sorry, don’t know the answer to your question but suffice it to say, you could be dodging a bullet.
  19. Odd. If it's a special, you'd think they'd mention it...otherwise, how would anybody know? Which begs the question, how did you find out? Also, what were some of the specials on offer?
  20. Reminds me of Carnival's Faster to the Fun pass...don't know if it's a per day charge, tho. I'm good with my embarkation time slot. I learned back in July when we embarked at FLL that the hype for priority boarding for suite guests was a lot of hype. I'm sure it's great in certain circumstances...Lord knows I've taken advantage of it as a suite guest but at the end of the day, we are all getting on the ship...unless of course, someone misses the boat. I think I will skip this purchase....for now.
  21. DH says he knew I was the one when I told him to Lighten up Frances...
  22. Perks list for Blue Chip shows priority embarkation for Amethyst and up as well...although I saw no place for Blue Chips at FLL either. We have an 11:30 embarkation time so we'll just go with that...
  23. Completely understandable and justified response. While the news in this video is encouraging, they (celebrity) should expect that some damage done is irreparable for some of the most loyal (Zenith) customers.
  24. That's offensive to Subway, whose cold cuts look so much better than the intestines on display in this pic. 🤮
