Thanks for enlightening information regarding the other cruise lines. This is the first time we have ever had this happen in over 20 cruises. It frustrating that we only found out when they sent the email regarding the change in our son's room. They never sent an email for ours, but when I logged in I discovered that ours was also changed to a guaranteed room. What's really interesting is that there are very few rooms showing availability when I pretend to make a new reservation. This is a Canary Islands cruise that also can go onto Venice. We are just doing the Islands because we are travelling through Spain after disembarking.
Is it possible you will be upgraded in light of the few rooms left in your booked category? Please keep us posted on the cabin reassignment.

@Best Cat Mom have you had a smooth journey home? You haven’t posted since Friday. I hope all is well.

Just stick your foot out and trip them as they run past.
Kidding, of course 😉.
Seriously, as a retired educator, 20 years as a teacher and 10 as a principal I totally get not wanting the rush of excitement associated with children. They gravitate toward me like the Pied Piper so I’m used to it. For those who prefer a less chaotic atmosphere I recommend a vacation that does not coincide with a school break.
Food for thought…young people keep us young.
We will be on Seascape over Thanksgiving. I will try to make a note of the number of children.

The Divina has an Executive and Family Suite that has a living room and bedroom. It doesn't have two bathrooms and no balcony, but large windows. I'm not sure what kind of pricing it has now. We had one booked before Covid and subsequently cancelled and when rebooked, we booked multiple rooms instead.
I have investigated both of these options but thought the lack of balcony space was an unfortunate shortfall of each category....so passed on them.

There is a Grand Deluxe suite which to my understanding has a bit bigger entry area and on some ships, a walk in closet. Looks like if you want a bigger space, the RS is what you'll have to do. It comes with a designated pergola on the sun deck as well as a stocked bar with various bottles of liquor of your choice. Other than that, there's not much difference in experience. Since Yacht Club doesn't really differentiate the over all service between suite categories (like Celebrity, for example), you truly are paying for the extra space.

Welcome home @Best Cat Mom and safe travels. Thank you for yet another great review. You’ve almost carried me to our Seascape cruise. Just 6 more sleeps!

This same thing happened to me recently with a Yacht Club booking, luckily the changes were significant enough I was allowed to cancel.
What did they want to change you to in YC that made you want to cancel?

Glad you had a nice cruise and happy birthday to DW!! 😊 For the price differential between RS and SS, I would be very disappointed if the service wasn't elevated. Thank you for confirming that paying more, gets more.

Already seen no shirts in the buffet ...
I really don’t care what other people wear but that’s just gross. I don’t want to see some sweaty, hairy beer belly sauntering around the buffet. 🤮

What does an upside down pineapple mean pray tell?

^^^ This. Not that I have any experience with this, mind you.

We will be on Grandeur in April for an Italy/Croatia cruise. We are in a suite on deck 6…a step up from entry level. I’m am happy to see you enjoyed your cruise. Regarding potential noise, I find ear plugs go a long way to combat noise. I sleep next to a freight train each night so a little ambient cabin noise from neighbors won’t bother me.

I wonder how the ladies at the slot machines keep on gambling for 8 hours or more without a bathroom break 😉
I use the ‘tilt the chair’ trick which is a universally understood message… much like the upside down pineapple. 🤷♀️

GP, don't you normally sail YC?
There we've never seen more than 40 percent being used.
Yes, we are sailing YC but even those are showing as sold out. It’s a NYE cruise so that’s probably not helping my cause any. I will ask to be put on a cancellation waitlist if they have such a thing. We are a party of 10 so I thought having a cabana would be a good home base for the group.

Even if the cruise planner is showing sold out? I should have booked it when I had the chance! To anyone sitting on the fence, I say do it before it's too late.

Anything that you could do different so that doesn't happen next time. Airplane mode has always been my go-to in this situation.
The prices I see on here and YouTube make me long for the old days. I was watching a video the other day where someone paid $1800 total for a YC Balcony using the bid system. Though $2400 for YC interior is closer to what I'm seeing. That's probably where we'll start. I want YC and don't want to rely on bids to get there. We would prefer balcony though.
Yes, those were the good ole' days, for sure. I did manage to snag a YIN on Seascape for spring, 2026 for $1625 pp. The list price was $1800 pp but we applied a military discount. $3200 for a 7 night cruise in YC is good with me as I think the value is still there. Perhaps you will find some better pricing if you look further out.

What time does check-in start 30 days before?
For example, will it be open at 12:01 AM EST 30 days before departure?
That's when mine opened.

How did a thread about new Celebrity ships end up being about Silversea? IF I wanted to read about Silversea, I'm quite sure there is a board for them...
It’s not a thread about Silversea. They are owned by some parent company… but I can’t remember who.. lol.

Quite possibly the worst thing I’ve ever tasted…ever! I will never understand why this is on the menu. You can tell me my pallet lacks sophistication…and on this point, I will agree. The texture is leathery with a dry, chalky consistency that leaves a greasy film over the roof of the mouth that even water, the universal solvent, can’t penetrate. Why, Celebrity, why?! 🤮
