  1. I have no proof that I signed up for the program. Have others received written verification? I did receive points on one of our cruises, but I don’t recall getting anything confirming we were on the program. What I do know is we had poor room service on our latest cruise compared to all our previous cruises, but I did not complain because I thought it was because we were on the Go Green program.
  2. I always sail in a Verandah cabin. The one time I did get the Go Green Points I received 54 points for a 9 night cruise. Without the Go Green program I would have received 27 points. So far no response back from Celebrity about our missing points.
  3. We sailed on Silhouette in January and noticed no coffee station in the Hideaway.
  4. I heard about this program here at Cruise Critic and thought I would give it a try. I think we have participated three times in total, but have only been credited the extra points one time. The first time I signed up was in June 2023. The service was the same as normal but we didn't get any extra points. The second time I signed up was for an October Spain and Portugal cruise. The service again was like normal but our Captain Club points were double so Celebrity had honored our Go Green request. Then we took a January cruise and this time we definitely were on the Go Green Program. The cabin attendant asked us if we wanted the room cleaned morning or evening. We chose morning and that is the only time he entered our cabin. No refreshing of towels or emptying our trash in the evening or chocolates on our pillow or room turned down at night. The attendant was in our cabin once a day and I thought to myself that this service should definitely be considered as being part of the Go Green Program. I have read here on Cruise Critic most people can't see any difference in service with the Go Green Program, but we sure could on this particular cruise. We definitely earned the extra Go Green points on this cruise but Celebrity is refusing to award them to us. I have contacted Customer Service three times and this most recent time (today) was told if I have no proof (email from Celebrity of being on the program) then I am not eligible for the extra points. Curious that the room attendant knew we signed up for the Go Green Program but Celebrity has no clue. Well, if Celebrity is not going to honor their side of things (award points) then we will never sign up for Go Green again.
  5. We had the same experience recently, too. We had signed up for the Go Green Program for previous cruises and experienced both a full cleaning once a day and turn down service in the evening with trash removal and fresh towels. Not so on our last cruise. Our attendant only entered our cabin once a day. I should have called guest services to see if what we were experiencing was what we were supposed to be receiving. I decided not to sign up for the Go Green Program in the future instead.
  6. We stayed at Hotel Barcelona House off the Ramblas in October. It was easy to access from the bus that left from the airport. It was also an easy walk to the bus that took us to the ship. Clean, comfortable. Would stay there again.
  7. I discovered that if I put the magnetic hook over a picture that is in the cabin, the magnet will not move when I hang heavier things (backpack for example) from it. The picture gets covered up, though!
  8. There is a Black Friday sale going on now for laundry.
  9. I love Silhouette, so hopefully you will too. As far as Infinity goes, I just recently cruised on this ship and will not choose it again in the future. What really got me was the mildew smell in the cabin bathroom. Perhaps if the ship was refurbished and the bathrooms were redone I would reconsider. Other than the bathroom we were pleased with the ship. It was dated, but very clean so the decor did not offend. It was the mildew smell that turned me off.
  10. My husband is taking dark colored Hey Dudes slip ons. He loves these shoes. And being that they are black he will fit right in for evening MDR or speciality dining venues. They are super light weight so easy to pack, too.
  11. Only if you add liquor to the coffees. I often drink cappuccinos on the Classic package.
  12. And just to be sure no noise bothers you, you can pack a bluetooth eye mask! Then no matter what is going on outside your cabin you can sleep through it all! I just bought an eye mask head set myself. I always sleep with a sound machine which blocks out a lot of noise, but I decided to try the eye mask/head set combo to see if I like that even better. When I traveled with our son years ago he complained about the garbage collectors making a lot of noise outside in the middle of the night (Barcelona), but I slept through it all with my white noise in the background. Won't travel any where without it now!
  13. On our most recent Celebrity cruise, I collected the inserts to go in the necklace each day. I was collecting the bits and bobs for my seven year old granddaughter. Each day I would go to the shop that had the different pieces for my collection. My friend who was also on the same cruise has two young granddaughters so she asked in the shop if she could have two sets of the inserts plus an additional necklace for her granddaughters. She was willing to pay for the extra necklace and the inserts. She was told no. Only one per guest. That is until we left the shop. A few minutes later the sales person caught up with us with a complete set of the necklace and inserts--gratis. My friend was pleasantly surprised and pleased!
  14. Us too. Before drink packages we would go to a bar and pick up wine glasses to keep in our cabin for the wine we brought on board. The cabin steward would keep our ice bucket full of ice each day so our wine was able to be chilled.
  15. I have printed off pictures onto card stock, laminated the pictures and attached magnets to the backs. I am not particularly artistic either, but the internet is full of ideas from holiday images, nautical images—you name it you can find it. You can easily find a 60th birthday image on line to print. One time I even found a Christmas tree that I printed off and hung on my cabin wall. It was several pieces that when put together made a large Christmas tree.
  16. I had a good experience with a cut and blow dry in the salon. My hair felt so soft.
  17. We sailed Silhouette in June and was curious how our experience would be. We had sailed on Reflection in January and the MDR experience was really poor. We were pleased with our Silhouette cruise. Thank goodness because I don’t want to feel the need to look elsewhere. We always enjoyed our Celebrity cruises in the past pre Covid.
  18. Friends of mine had their camera stolen off a cafe table. Someone came by in the pretense of selling tickets to see Flamenco dancing. Slapped an open brochure on the table, over the camera, and when removing the brochure the camera was lifted, too. One time in Lisbon my husband had put his camera down on the table there, too, but the waiter warned him not to leave anything visible on the table. Another time my backpack was unzipped and someone notified me that it was open. Nothing was taken as all my valuables were in my crossbody purse in front of me. Apparently the thief was not interested in my paper back book! I had mechanism to secure my backpack but had gotten lazy. Never let your guard down.
  19. I really liked when champagne was offered to me as I walked on to the ship. However, the champagne was readily available just outside Cafe Al Baccio. Almost as good, but I hope the former event resumes--getting my bubbly when I first board the ship!
  20. I can relate to your Little Toot experience. One time a lady couldn’t make it to the bathroom in time and had an accident. People were sharing tissues soaked in perfume to breathe through for the entire flight. Fortunately it was not a long flight!
  21. We flew into Heathrow in June and took the National Express bus to Southampton. I knew the train situation might be problematic, so was very glad for the bus. Very convenient, too.
  22. The last time I cruised I brought magnetic hooks that I thought would work holding various items (purse, beach bag, etc.). The hooks were not strong enough for anything other than a lanyard, so I positioned them above the wall picture to help secure the hooks in place and problem solved. Couldn’t enjoy looking at the picture, though (not that I cared). I always bring a hanging shoe holder that I hang over the outside of the bathroom door. It is so handy to have everything visible we might need in full view—meds, scissors, paper/pen, sun screen, first aid kit, sticky tape roller, etc, rather than sorting through a drawer for what we want. If we forgot this item we would be very upset!
