  1. Exactly! We hope you would meet on board anyway. This is the way it "used" to be (old skool if you will LOL). All it takes is one ringleader to say "hey let's meet at sailaway"..for example. We're updating our M&M list here all the time. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/meet-mingle/main/ Some recent examples: New information for Princess and NCL. We have nametags available for most lines on the above page as well. Simply print out a "test" at home, and take to office supply store OR find online. We'd love to see a photo of your gathering; upload to our M&M gallery! Laura
  2. Hi there! Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I've alerted our engineering team to this bug. Laura
  3. This! Yes, a great idea and our nametags can help with this: https://images.r.cruisecritic.com/community/pdfs/Princess-Name-Tags.pdf These print out on standard labels easy to identify in your office supply store; these look good! https://www.avery.com/blank/labels/94215 Laura
  4. We also have reached out to Princess, and have updated this page here with two items: 1. Email address to contact 2. There will no longer be an announcement in the Patters. Princess Meet & Mingle/Greet

  7. Received this today and thought you might be interested in reading: NORWEGIAN CRUISE LINE TAKES DELIVERY OF NORWEGIAN PRIMA Cruise Line Welcomes First of Six Ships in Ground-Breaking Prima Class, the Brand’s Newest Class of Ships in Nearly a Decade VENICE, ITALY (July 29, 2022) - Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), the innovator in global cruise travel with a 55-year history of breaking boundaries, today took delivery of its newest ship, Norwegian Prima, in Marghera, Venice at the renowned Fincantieri shipyard. This highly anticipated milestone marks the arrival of the first ship in NCL’s Prima Class that will see six new ships delivered through 2027. Present at the landmark event was Frank Del Rio, president and chief executive officer of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd; Harry Sommer, president and chief executive officer of Norwegian Cruise Line; Luigi Matarazzo, general manager of the Merchant Ships Division of Fincantieri; as well as other notable NCLH and Fincantieri executives. The delivery celebration was followed by the traditional flag exchange ceremony. Harry Sommer, president and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line said: "Today we usher in a thrilling new era in cruising as we celebrate the delivery of Norwegian Prima, the long-anticipated first ship in our extraordinary new Prima Class. She is a true testament to our Guest First philosophy as well as our commitment to deliver unforgettable experiences that exceed expectations. We thank our wonderful partners at Fincantieri, whose coveted craftsmanship, expertise, and dedication, helped bring Norwegian Prima to life. We cannot wait to welcome our guests on board." At 965 feet/294 meters long, 142,500 gross tons and with capacity for 3,100 guests, Norwegian Prima is designed to put guests first. She features wide-open spaces, thoughtful and stunning design, and a variety of brand and industry-first experiences. She lays claim as the most spacious new cruise ship in the contemporary category and offers the most outdoor deck space and expansive accommodations of any new build. Her variety of elevated experiences and epicurean delights include the Brand’s first upscale open-air food hall, Indulge Food Hall; the largest and first three-level racetrack at sea on the Prima Speedway as well as The Drop, the world's first freefall dry slide offering a 10-story plunge experience that reaches more G-forces than an accelerating F1 race car. Other onboard standouts include Ocean Boulevard, which wraps around the entire deck; that’s over 44,000 square feet/4,000 meters long, allowing guests to connect to the ocean while enjoying alfresco dining and elevated experiences. Guests will enjoy the ultimate in relaxation via Infinity Beach, boasting two stunning infinity pools which are positioned close to water-level to take in the vastness of the ocean with uninterrupted views as well as Oceanwalk, where two glass bridges make guests feel as though they are walking on air over the water. An oasis for art lovers, Norwegian Prima will boast The Concourse, the first outdoor sculpture garden at sea with six installations created by international metal artist Alexander Krivosheiw and an art wall designed by David Harber. Norwegian Prima is packed with world-firsts, never-before-seen features, and extraordinary attractions you would never expect at sea". Launching this August, Norwegian Prima will be the first major cruise ship christened in Iceland, commencing her eight-day inaugural voyage in the Icelandic capital of Reykjavik on Aug. 27,2022, sailing to Amsterdam. Global popstar Katy Perry, who serves as Norwegian Prima’s Godmother, will fulfil the longstanding maritime tradition of blessing and officially naming the ship, as well as performing during the christening ceremony. Following her inaugural voyage, Norwegian Prima will sail a series of eight-day voyages from Amsterdam and Copenhagen offering guests the opportunity to explore Northern Europe and the Norwegian Fjords. She’ll then sail Bermuda from Oct. 10,2022; Caribbean itineraries from Oct.15, 2022; and Western Caribbean voyages from Dec. 11, 2022 to March 19, 2023, before returning to Bermuda from March 28 to May 7, 2023. She’ll then offer cruises to Northern Europe from May 14 through Sept. 17, 2023. 8. Hi all, I just wanted to share some information to all of you who commented on this being their "first post" on Cruise Critic. You see, I directed this person to post in this forum (as their submission to the published review section of the site was returned). It's what we do...if you have legitimate information or issues to share but they aren't "review material" I will send them to the forums to share with you all; of course hoping that you'll all offer insight and helpful suggestions. Laura
  9. If you are experiencing issues with Logging into the forum, or staying logged in as you navigate through the site -- especially to the Roll Calls, this information should help. First, what is a Cookie? A cookie is a small piece of information stored by your browser to help identify who you are. Cruise Critic's message board uses cookies to keep you logged into your account as you move from page to page. If your cookie isn't being accepted correctly, you'll be logged out of your account as soon as you move to a different page -- or try to move from the "log in process" to actually being logged in. This will block you from signing in or staying signed in. There are a number of reasons why your cookie may not be set properly. As a first step, you can try removing cookies from our site, boards.cruisecritic.com, (or cruisecritic.com or auth.cruisecritic.com) which often fixes the issue. This article has information on how to do that, and how to troubleshoot the issue if that doesn't help, as you will need to only delete your Cruise Critic cookies. https://www.lifewire.com/how-to-delete-cookies-2617981
  10. I'm not Michell <;)> but I'll try and answer. More than likely this is caused due to traffic to the site, causing access to the server to shut down for a few seconds and returning an unavailable message. When doing searches the system searches back as far as it can, and it's searching a GREAT deal of content here. What I've been doing (and I search a lot) is putting in a date parameter. I usually pick something post-pandemic (relating to the restart of cruising, say sometime last summer). Things are so different on board now, searching back farther than that will probably result in very old and inaccurate content. Laura
  11. New cruise lines, such as Virgin Voyages, as well as some of favorites such as Viking and Saga, now offer adults-only cruises. We are pleased to offer you this opportunity to discuss your experiences and the merits of one line over the other. This forum is for cruisers who like cruising in this manner and not to debate whether it should exist. Enjoy!
  12. This warms my heart. I look back over these years and the realization that you all have helped newbies have the best cruise experience is so gratifying. And learned from each other. And your cruise voices were heard by the industry. Three cheers to the heart snd soul of Cruise Critic—you! And thanks for your loyalty Laura
  13. We are so terribly sorry to hear of Don’s passing. He has been a very active member of Cruise Critic for so many years and his contributions have made a huge difference to so many members. Please accept our condolences at this very difficult time. LauraS and the entire Cruise Critic team
  14. Me again. The emails, you are talking about the ones from the forums -- notifications of posts etc, right? The reason I ask is because our newsletters come from a different source. Let me know, Laura
  15. I'll go back and take a look at the above. In general though, we'll keep a forum open as long as the discussions continue. We'll review a defunct cruise line's forum from time to time, and if we see it hasn't been posted to recently -- like weeks and weeks -- we'll remove it. Laura
  16. Unfortunatley I'm not able to recreate this issue at this time. Please keep me post, send me an email at Community@cruisecritic.com if this keeps happening. Laura
  17. So here's how this works. This page that we created back in Aug '21 plays a role in all this: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/ourpicks/?page=13 We are always awestruck that members take the time out of their cruise vacation time -- and spend money -- to share with us all here at Cruise Critic. When cruises restarted, the creation of the page above to feature these was a no brainer: everyone wanted to know what it was like to be back on board. Fast forward to the creation of a new "badge" as an additional form of recognition. That was done sometime in April, and we began awarding the badge. Each weekday (maybe once over the weekend) I search titles for "live" and "on board" (as John&LaLa mentioned). Those are added to the Live Reports page, and I award the badge at that time. If I happen across a "live" report w/o those keywords, I'll add it. But with thousands of posts each day, we might miss those. Sorry! We may be able to go back and award badges to previously-added Live From... reports, as time permits (something we do not have a great deal of, unfortunately). Hope this clears up this mystery! Edited to add: Forgot to address the "Rare" icon. It is inherent in the software -- I like it. I do wish it was closer to the ship icon, thus making it make sense! Laura
