Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I went with Annual NIB at 74. Had to put in 2 claims for a cruise I did in September last year, one for a lost computer and one for medical for a fall I had on the ship. They were great dealing with the claims and they both went through without any issues. About to renew it again for another year.
  2. Welcome back. I'm 75 and have packed 3 cruises into the last 9 months to get my sea legs back, including my first solo cruise, 24 days from Seattle to Sydney. Loved every minute of it. Get back on board and enjoy the fun of ship life once again.🙂
  3. I took out Annual Travel Insurance with NIB (don't have to be a member) last August, 2022. It has full Covid cover for both domestic and international travel, including cruising. I have done 3 cruises since then, both domestic and international, and have just had to show a paper copy of my insurance on embarkation on Carnival. Also have had to put in a claim which was handled very well.
  4. I disembarked on Sept 30th and they were still mandatory in OPT then.
  5. I have just completed the 23 day transpacific cruise on Carnival Splendor and I did it solo! This was my first solo cruise and I would do it again in a heartbeat. I met other solo cruisers through CC and another social media group for my cruise. We met up within 24 hours of boarding and did many activities together. When I was eating or drinking solo, I would leave a book or pen and paper on the table with a glass of water or coffee while I got my food or drink. Never lost my place. Sometimes I would just ask someone at next table to watch my things. People were very obliging. Have fun.
  6. I have just done the 23 day transpacific crossing on Carnival Splendor. I was able to purchase a 24 hour internet package on board 3 times for about $13 a day. This allowed me to have internet access and contact family using Messenger video. It was all I needed.
  7. Just got off the Splendor. I had an ocean view cabin. It had 1 AU power outlet, 240V, on the table under mirror. I took a 15 ft extension cord for my CPAP and a multi USB adaptor for my devices, which I charged during the day. Also took a Portable Micro -USB Charger for when I needed it.
  8. I have just done the Transpacific cruise on Carnival Splendor. Had to wear mask indoors for first 10 days, then optional. all passengers had tests on Day 2, 6 and 10. Minimal number of cases. Excellent protocols in place. I felt safer on board than at my local supermarket.
  9. I'm doing Carnival Splendor to NZ leaving Sydney on November 21st.
  10. My TA here in Oz has just tranferred my rolled over OBC from AU to USD for my upcoming cruise from Seattle on the Carnival Splendor, so I agree with contact your original TA.
