  1. That was interesting. I wonder how it compares to their "regular" first class?

If you don't mind me asking, how many miles did it take? (round trip), and what airline's miles were they?

I don't mind you asking but I can't really answer because, Niki, my points wizard wife arranged it. It was some crazy thing where she moved amex points to air Alaska which had an amazing exchange rate with Singapore Airlines and then she was on the phone at like 2am on the 1st morning that the seats were available with both amex and Singapore because apparently they have very limited availability for seats. She really wields some serious magic so sometimes I don't ask but it was really like a lifetime worth of Amex points and worth every one! I've never seen service like what Singapore Airlines provided and I've been to a fair number of pretty cool places to compare.

  2. I'm surprised to hear / see people complaining that guests who pay twice as much for their floating hotel room get some additional services. It's not like anyone is ever treated poorly on Celebrity, we are all on Celebrity because we want luxury and are paying a premium for that. Some can simply afford to buy more luxury but no one is suffering or should be jealous of those who can upgrade their experience.

Now...if you want to see some killer service, we flew Suite Class on Singapore Airlines to Shanghai for a Celebrity Cruise a year ago. We DO NOT HAVE $48,000 to spend on flights, we used a lifetime of frequent flier points but the air tickets would have been $48,000 if you paid cash! Check out the video:

  3. Great report on your cruise! We've been on Summit 3 times...I think as well as Millennium. Great ships!

Oh... Just remember I have a video on our YouTube page of going through some sick weather on Summit. Spray from HUGE waves hitting the windows all the way up in the bar!
