  1. I don't think the doors are metal so magnetics are out. So how would you attach the decorations, hammer and nails?

Heard once that Costa frown upon having their doors decorated and you will be made responsible for any damage caused and could be removed from the ship for vandalism. Never seen it myself on any Costa ship.

I shake my head when I read such stories, you know your husband will be 50, so does he. Do you think other passengers will be interested? Much better would be to invite your dinner table colleagues and your next door cabin neighbours for a few drinks. Then go and buy that Rolex watch he has always wanted.

This post just made me laugh. It doesn’t matter if we know how old he will be. It’s a matter of wanting to celebrate. He has the Rolex he’s always wanted. I’m sorry you don’t find decorations exciting, but we do 😁

Also there’s thing thing called tape 🤫 let’s keep that one a secret! 🙄

  2. Have you contacted Costa?

    What did they say?

Unfortunately, I am in the same situation and cruising soon.

We cruised with Carnival this summer and we just needed an official birth certificate. Carnival owns Costa, so was not expecting different rules.

She said his birth certificate will be fine. To bypass it for online check in put his full dob with 00000 to fill in the missing numbers under the identification part. Issue date is his dob and exp date is next years birth date. However we have decided to expedite a passport just because we see world wide travel in our near future.

  3. I doubt you will need a passport for your child.

I was thinking the same but when I go to our online check in, which needs to be completed, there is no option to skip or put his birth certificate as a form of ID. I’m calling in the morning, just curious if anyone had any experiences. We had no issues with carnival when we took him.

  4. We’re cruising Costa the beginning. We’re bringinh our (who will be) 9 month old son. Dad and I both have passports. Ports of call are Grand Cayman, Roatan, Belize, Cozumel and Progresso, I know a passport is recommended in case of an emergency. But, is it required on Costa for him to have a passport? We are embarking and disembarking from Fort Lauderdale, we are all US citizens

  6. Following, we're taking our what will be 1 year old next April. If you could update when you get back with any extra things you come across I would appreciate that!!

From what I've seen, a umbrella stroller, a back carrier, toys, an inflatable bathtub unless s/he will shower, snacks, beach toys, sippy cups

I am surprised that the pricing is about the same. The biggest reason we've gone back to MSC 4 times is the value proposition. We consider it to be about equal to Carnival (some things worse, some things better) but with the KSF the pricing is usually substantially lower.

HAL is having an amazing sale right now where the 3 and 4 guest sail free. So we'll do 2 connecting balcony rooms no matter what way we go. I've never been on msc, we've cruised Hal ( but without kids) and we've cruised carnival with kids.. While carnival is good for families, it is a party ship(which I don't like) and I didn't care for the itineraries around the time they're out for winter break

  8. We are planning our Christmas cruise.. We are between holland America oosterdam and msc Divina. We have a 6,9 and 11 year olds. I know HA doesn't have water slides, which is why I'm pushing for MSC, but my concern on both is that they'll be bored. Msc only has 2 sea days and HA has 3. Same price, same length.. Just looking for anyone's insight that has maybe sailed one or both with kiddos?

  9. Hi guys!!

We're planning our yearly family cruise. This time we're taking my parents and our three kids. Our kids are 6,9 and 11. We go yearly with at least the kids. We have cruise wild before with our family, my mom and step dad, my dad and step mom, my grandmother and my husbands best friend and his girlfriend for our wedding. We went on a carnival cruise that time and all of the other tims we've taken the kids, we've only cruised carnival. My husband and I have cruised princess and holland America alone. So we have a good basis on what we want. I've done my research and I'm between NCL and Royal Caribbean. My only draw back with NCL is how they charge extra for EVERYTHING. So for someone who has done both.. Preferably with kids our age... Which do you prefer??

We were looking at the oasis class for RC

  10. Hi all,

We are cruising on the zuiderdam at the end of February for our honeymoon and we are looking into the thermal spa. If anyone has any first hand experiences I'm interested in hearing them. I've heard some not so amazing things. Also is the hydro pool included in the cruise price? Its my first time sailing on HAL, not my husbands first but it's been years since he's sailed with them.

    Thanks in advance😀

  11. Hello everyone. We booked on the Ruby princess from L.A. to mexico at the end of February. We were looking at the spa prices, but I'm not sure if they've increased since 2014? We're looking for the thermal spa and possibly the sanctuary for the entire cruise, and all day. The last I saw was whole day was 40 a day for the sanctuary and 130 for a couple for the cruise for the thermal suite? Just a little something I wanted to do for my husband for our honeymoon.

    Thank you all!

  12. We are planning our honeymoon cruise. Out of all the cruises we have found, I think we're set on celebrity equinox, the 11 day. I've looked at many YouTube videos and I'm sold. However other than people saying they really enjoyed themselves... There was no indication on the level of service. I've only sailed carnival. Also is the concierge class worth the extra money? We're looking at the balcony right now, but would change in a heartbeat.

  13. How close to a cruise can you book? I know it's a double edged sword.. I know you don't have the options like you do when you book further out, you have to pay full up front generally, and the costs are sometimes higher... But how soon before a cruise can you book? Cruise lines being royal Caribbean, Norwegian, msc, princess and celebrity x tia!

  14. I would like to not spend more than 4000 total. Which we have a timeshare so we can get a discount if we go through them. I know I couldn't do a 14 day. I'm having a hard enough time leaving my kids for 10... I've never been away from them for more than a weekend without being able to call them.. I was looking at holland america.. I wanted to do an Msc because of their spa..

  15. Hello everyone!

So a small back story on the situation.. My husband and I are newlyweds... Married 7-3-15. We have 3 kids, 5,8 and 10. We went on a cruise in August this was a family cruise.. By family I mean we took all the kids, my parents, and step parents, my grandma, and his best friend and his girlfriend. This was initially our wedding on the cruise and then we had family unable to come so we just went as a family.. So needless to say we haven't had a honeymoon. We have decided it's time for us to find some us time and do this for us. We went on a carnival cruise to the Bahamas... Yes been on MANY cruises.. That was my first. We've discussed where we want to go and I think we're 99% sure we want to do the Panama canal cruise.. But I'm not 100% set on it. I'm open to any opinions... I want to go on a rather intimate cruise... When I say intimate I mean not a party cruise( like the carnival was) I would rather it be a little more laid back.. Not having kids running around everywhere. I would like to do a 10 day cruise.. And I'm looking for March.

Thank you in advance(sorry for the long winded story:p )

  16. Hi guys! So, we're going on our first cruise as a family. My husband has cruised before, however my kids and I, this will be our first. We're taking my parents as well as my grandma, so we have from 5 to 70 years old to entertain. We're trying to figure out excursions everyone would enjoy without spending a ton of money. I think all swimming with anything is out of the question this time. We'll be in nassau August 29th.

    Thanks in advance!
