  1. I never heard of this? What is a bounce back offer? Have 2 cruises pending with Carnival already.

A bounceback offer is a free or discounted cruise offered by the casino based on play/points earned. Typically, the casino host will hand you a pamphlet explaining your offer on the last night of the cruise (or have it delivered to your cabin). Based on anecdotal evidence and my own experience, if you earn 5000+ slot points, you will likely receive a free interior cabin on a future sailing within 6 months.

I have heard that bouncebacks are not offered to people who already have a future cruise booked while already on a cruise.

Also, the specific offer mentioned here is a bit different. This offer was sent via e-mail and not handed out by the casino while on board. I can say that for mine specifically, it mentioned that I received the offer because I had received a bounceback offer on-board that I was unable to use due to limited inventory.

  2. I received the same e-mail on Friday. I cruised in April/May, and received a bounceback on board, but the dates/ships were way more restrictive than normal, with no sailings available after July, pretty much only 3-4 day sailings, Vista/Alaska excluded, etc.

This e-mail offer specifically mentioned that since I was unable to use my previous bounceback offer due to inventory limitations, they were happy to extend another.

I too received the second e-mail about 2 hours later stating that the offer would be bookable starting Monday (tomorrow). The offer e-mail did not include an offer code, and it is not yet in my VIFP offers section on Carnival.com.

I'll be looking tomorrow to see what cruises are available. :)

  3. We just got back and my husband had a bounce back offer. I have called and there are dates in June and August available when I call my PVP. But I can't see this offer online. Why would it not show up online so I can search for my cruises myself?

When you say you just got back, how recently? I've found that my bounceback offers can take a couple days to show up under the VIFP offers on the website.

Also, have you tried searching cruises on Carnival? Sometimes you'll see the rates applied even if the offer isn't showing on the "My Offers" page yet.

  4. For ones that carry cash how do you get through the airport security with it?

Unless you're carrying massive amounts (like over $10K), you should have no issues.

You can't physically carry it through the scanner (unless you are TSA Precheck and go through a normal Xray machine vs. the high-tech scanner), but you can put it in your bag and send it down the belt.

  5. Another question: We will be bringing about $600 in cash (to pay for excursions and such). So my husband isn't stuck traveling with a wad of cash, will the ship be able to change out $100's for smaller bills?

Definitely. In fact, the Sail & Sign kiosks will also make change for you. If Guest Services is hesitant (as another poster suggested), feed them into a slot machine and then go to the cashier cage, cash out, and ask for $20s, etc. (Just be sure you have your S&S card in the slot machine. They are all ticketless. When you hit cash out, the money gets loaded to your casino account on your S&S card.)

  6. JiJis was soooo good. As others have said, probably the best Asian food I've eaten. We ate there 3 times on the 13-day TA. The service was top notch, food delicious, and just an overall great experience. The Italian place (forgot the name) was just OK for dinner. We didn't find the food or the service to be very good, but for lunch, both JiJi and the Italian restaurant are free. JiJi does a Mongolian Wok style lunch, and the Italian restaurant does a make-your-own pasta bar. The pasta was good for lunch.

Also did Chef's Table, which of course is highly recommended, but quite a bit more expensive ($95, I think, on Vista now).

  7. These are good offers. The only thing you'll have to pay is port tax, and any upgrade fee (to oceanview or balcony). The first time I did one of these offers, I was able to book the Vista TA (13 night), and upgrade to a balcony for a few hundred dollars.

On that cruise, I received another bounce-back that I am using for a 7-day southern Caribbean in a couple weeks. Upgraded to oceanview for $100 each.

I haven't had the issues with availability that others are mentioning. In fact, in both cases, I've booked mine toward the end of the "valid through" date, and have seen wide availability. It is possible that it has something to do with level of casino play/offer code received.

  8. Coffee is ok. A little burnt tasting, but drinkable.

Lemonade is good. Pretty tart, but I prefer the tartness over a super sweet lemonade.

Iced tea is terrible. Tastes like water. You'll see many people making brewed tea and adding to a cup of ice.

No worries about the water no matter your itinerary. It's put into tanks wherever you set sail from.

  9. Tell me more about the "tree house". How many people does it accommodate? Do you have to climb up in it? Do they just have certain types of alcoholic drinks for a full bar?

The tree house fits two people. There is a rather steep set of stairs that you do need to climb to get up to it; however, you won't have to go up and down much except to go to the bathroom, get lunch, or if you want to get into the water. The servers will bring all your drinks and snacks right up to you as frequently as you need.

The bar seemed full, but as the previous poster mentioned, there may be some limitations. I am fairly certain they had every standard type of alcohol and mixer - perhaps just not champagnes, etc.

  10. Just adding another positive opinion on this place. Very quiet, very well maintained, excellent service all around. The date we booked was full, so the owner booked us in his private treehouse, which was awesome!

In the end, we got a beach spot because a few groups cancelled due the seaweed. The amount of seaweed is the only downside, but from everything I've read, if there is seaweed, the representative near the cruise terminal will ask if you'd still like to go. If you decide to cancel, you get a full refund.

  11. Then the casino will congratulate you with free drinks only to be consumed in the casino area. No sharing of drinks.

I never had an issue bringing my drinks out of the casino, nor did I see any policing of sharing.

The one policy they are strict on after you get the Drinks on Us Card is the number of free drinks per 24-hour period (I believe 15), and how frequently you can get a drink (I think one per 15 minutes).

  12. Just out of curiosity, is the appeal of reduced ($49/75/99) deposits just that you don't have to put so much up?

I see so many posts about people highly motivated by reduced deposits, and was just wondering if there is anything beyond that obvious that makes reduced deposits appealing to some people.

  13. I have 2 cabins booked. Hubby and I in one, and 2 13 yo's in the cabin across from us. So far I've only been able to secure 1 FTTF pass. In the event I am unable o get an additional one, will they let the 2 13 yo's board with the adults or do I just cancel?

Have you tried calling? They should be able to add FTTF to the other, even if it's sold out, as long as the bookings are linked.

As you know it's per cabin, and if only one cabin has it, then only one cabin can get the benefits of it.

  14. I would also recommend renting a car and returning it to Cocoa Beach. All the agencies there offer free shuttle service to the cruise terminal.

Rental agencies in Florida also don't slap you with a one-way fee like they do in other locations, so you'll typically pay just the daily/hourly rate and a little tax.

I had a car for 3 days prior to my cruise from MCO, returned it to Cocoa Beach, and it was just over $100 for the 3 days. You should be able to get a 1-day rental for around $50.

(Note: you "pay" for the complimentary shuttle to the cruise terminal if you rent a car on your return trip to MCO. Non-locals renting from Cocoa Beach are required to rent from "Cocoa Beach CRUISES," which are setup as second branches within the main branch. There is a $10-20 fee added, but that is only on the return rental. If you don't rent a car to get back to MCO, you don't pay it.)

  15. The PVP I follow on Facebook said this is the last $49 sale "for a loooooooong time!" (I think I got the number of "o"s right. ;))

Regardless, I don't think anyone really knows except Carnival marketing folks.

  16. Trip pricing varies based on the length of your cruise. Daily it is $5 for social media, $16 for value internet, and $25 for premium. The package pricing offers a significant savings on 7 day cruises.

It is "per device connected at one time." You can use it on all of your devices - just not all at the same time. (i.e. you can use your iPhone, and then login to your iPad, but it will log you out of your iPhone.)

If you want to be connected to more than one device at a time to use Facebook Messenger, you will need to pay for multiple devices.

If you are on Breeze, Freedom, Glory or Sunshine, you can use what's called the Carnival Hub App and get messaging functionality for $5 for the duration of your cruise. That doesn't include any other internet/app accessibility.

  17. I'm pretty sure that shorts will be allowed.

This may be a stupid quest<script id="gpt-impl-0.08681232623109702" src="http://partner.googleadservices.com/gpt/pubads_impl_83.js"></script>ion' date=' but what are dress shorts? I've never heard of that before. Is it like suit pants but short? :p[/quote']

I would assume like Dockers-style. Flat front, no cargo pockets, no draw strings/excessive buttons, conservative colors, etc.

  18. I was recently on the Magic. The table games had $5 minimums, except for BJ. It was $6 for 6/5 BJ and $10 for 3/2 BJ. I think Fun 21 was $5.

Keep in mind that when betting the minimum, $6 BJ paying 6:5 is really 7:6 since they don't have any chips less than $1, and they won't round your win up. On a $6 bet, 6:5 should pay $7.20, but instead they pay $7.

This is one of few instances where you may be better off betting $5 on the hand and $1 on the side bet. That way, you will still get paid "true" 6:5 on your blackjacks.

OR - don't play table minimum, and raise your bet to $10, but then it's better to move to the 3:2 tables which would pay $15 on your blackjacks vs. $12.

  19. Other than mentioning that Carnival has a "Ship-to-Ship" excursion to Montserrat I can't be much help.

I don't believe there's much of a city tour component, at least not from the one that I can see, which is "Hotel-to-Ship." (Since I am not on a B2B).

The "Hotel-to-Ship" option is priced at $77.99 for adults and $59.99 for children.

  20. You can't use a gift card to buy a gift card in stores, if you are caught both will be confiscated . Too much fraud out there.

What are you talking about? You can absolutely use a Visa gift card to buy another gift card. There is no rule or law against this, and a store "confiscating" your Visa gift card for attempting to purchase another gift card would be theft...

A Visa is a Visa in the store's eyes - they don't care.
