  1. The liquor police aren't going to come sniff your cup or anything.

One never knows these things with changes all the time. Just didn't want to spend $100 for a bottle of liquor if we have to chug it in the room only.

    Thanks for the response.

  2. Hello- Stupid question (I'm blonde) and I apologize in advance if this has already been asked but.....

If I order a bottle of liquor to be delivered to our room, is it true that it can only be consumed while in our cabin or can I mix myself a little drink in the cabin and take it to let's say the "Dining room" or the lido?

Again- sorry if this has already been asked.

    Thanks in advance

    Michelle

  3. My sister is staying in 7233 this cruise :D

I will let you know how it is when we return. ;)

Caribbeanchickie- My DH and I will be staying one cabin down from your suite, OS7233, when we go in December. Please let us know if the area is quiet. I noticed a space between the two inside cabins just across the hall from our suite and I'm afraid it will be a laundry area or something.

Have a great time on your trip!

  4. I'm more excited to have a reg. size bathroom more than anything else. Oh, and the double sink!

    Hahahaha

Yes access to room right away!! Luggage was normal speed but we liked being able to drop carry ons off right away. Personally I felt OS was well worth the money!! I think it's personal choice. We always have 3 people cruising in one cabin so the extra room and drawers were so nice!!
  5. It's just DH and I in the room so we have plenty to move about. :-)

Normally I wouldn't bother with a suite but the price to upgrade was too good to pass up.

We figure we will try it once and see if it's for us. If not, oh well- we tried it.

We had an ocean suite on the Glory. We didn't feel like it was worth the additional money over a balcony. (The double sinks were convenient.). I'm glad we tried it because DH realized that an ocean suite wasn't something he wanted.

We have had mini-suites on Princess and those were awesome.

For 4 people, I'd recommend getting 2 balcony cabins instead of an ocean suite.

We are platinum so I don't know what perks you get with a suite.

  6. "Squeeeeeeeeeeel" It looks lovely- I can barely wait. Next Sunday we will be on the liberty!

Did you have access to your room right away? Because you were in a suite did you have to wait long for your luggage to be delivered?

I absolutely LOVED it.....balcony was twice the normal size (compared to a regular balcony cabin), The sink was double sink, bathroom was regular bathroom size with zacuzzi tub, had a vanity area with closet between cabin and bath and another closet in the cabin next to the bed and also a 5 drawer dresser in cabin area. It was nice! We have an OS booked on the Magic coming up July 30, 2016 now too LOL

I attached some photos. Didn't take too many but here's a few.

  7. Thank you for the reply- I sincerely appreciate it. :-)

What did you think of the OS room? Do you have pics? Did you write a review?

    We're staying in 7231 :D

No, we didn't print anything out. Our online boarding pass showed the suite number and we automatically got VIP boarding and the lounge. Unless the other family has a priority boarding on their boarding pass I don't believe they can go with you...but I'd ask. I think if they link the 2 bookings they may be able to. Our Suite number was 7249
  8. Is there something I have to print out for this VIP treatment? Do you know since we will be traveling with other members of our family who do not have the same suite (one being my father in law who is handicapped) will they also be included to skip the lines?

I'm curious to know- did you print out something for the OS suite for hte VIP boarding?

    What cabin were you in?

Ad what about another family I'm traveling with who have a reg balcony- can they skip the lines and be with us?

Thanks in advance- hope you had a great cruise.

  9. Carnival uses a number of different names for sales and promotions. Early Saver is one that's always there (until the cut off date, is it 3 months out?). It is, AFAIK, the only one that offers price protection all the way up to within 2 days of sail date. It is also the only one with a penalty for cancelation before final payment. Are you past final payment day? If not, just cancel and re-book at the lower rate.

If you are past final, unless you see "price protection" in the description of your rate, you are out of luck. Never hurts to call and ask for your options, but, "The outlook is doubtful", to quote my Magic 8-Ball.

To the other poster who asked how to check the prices, there is an easier way besides doing a trial booking. Save this link to the Fare Finder. Follow the instructions. You'll need to know your ship and sail date and cabin catagory: inside, oceanview, balcony, etc. Check the boxes for 55+, state and so on as necessary. Enter the scrambled code to verify you're a person, not a bot. Click continue.

Next you need to select the rate plan you want to check. Early Saver is usually the lowest-priced, but if other rates are close and you don't have the cheapest cabin, sometimes a free-upgrade promotional rate may be less. Try more than one if any are close to your current price, but you need to do one at a time. Click continue.

Now, you see a table with each different class in your catagory. Find your class on the list. Your class is on your invoice that you should have gotten in your email. If not, ask for one. Is the price for your class less than the price you paid? I think the prices are shown without taxes and fees. Look on your invoice for your current price.

It doesn't sound like it's easier or faster than a trial booking, but I think it is. It's easier done, than said.

THANK YOU for the fare finder info. I had no idea and was doing a mock booking a couple of times a day to keep watch. This is MUCH easier and only takes a minute or two. Love it!!

    THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

No price drop here yet but I'm hopeful we will get something...Hahah

  10. I've been looking at this resort for the post cruise. Will they let you check in early as we will likely be off the ship by 10-11 am. Don't want to be carrying luggage around and would like to get in to a swimsuit ASAP to enjoy the last day of vacation.

Oh- how far is this place from the port and airport?

    TIA

  11. Hi, we just "won" the Courtyard Mariott Miramar for $125 for 2/7/09 for 2 nights. I guess it will be ok. Is there something we have to do now:confused: do you call the hotel or anything to confirm?

    Thanks,

    patti

Now you sit back and anxiously await your cruise date! :D

I usually call the hotel a few days prior just to ensure everything is OK.

    Happy cruising!

  12. There is a story that goes with this picture. At 41 my sister had a major stroke. To save her life they had to do surgery and as a result, take out about 1/3 of her skull....it stayed safe in her belly for over a year (because she had a staph infection post op they did not want to put it back too soon) while she recovered. At her most critical moment in the ICU, I held her hand and told her if she would only open her eyes I would take her anywhere in the world she wanted to go....her eyes flew open (the first of many miracles!), and as soon as she came off the ventilator she requested we go on a cruise. So in late April this year, almost 2 years after her stroke, we boarded the Legend with our mom, our other sister, two nieces and my sisters’ best friend. My sister wanted to swim with the dolphins more than anything else, so I scheduled the Royal Swim. Although VERY skeptical when we arrived, given my sisters physical limitations, the staff agreed to "let her try”. This picture was taken during the foot push.....what you can't see are the six women standing in the water watching her, laughing and crying at the same time. Since this day, my sister has continued to recover, expanding her horizons daily; because this moment in time renewed her confidence and made her realize that ANYTHING is possible!

    What a wonderful story!

Brought tears to my eyes this morning.
