Correct, except to remember if it's cashed out before being played out, no further account charges to the room are allowed for the rest of the cruise.

The above statement is simply not true.

    1) One only needs to play out half (put $100 in machine, play $50, cash out if desired).   The amount you cash out after playing thru 1/2 is irrelevant (could be $50 if you lost every pull, could be $5k if one was beyond 'lucky').

    2) If you don't play 1/2, some RC ships will lock you out for 3 days, so don't.

    3) Lock out, if applicable, is for 3 days.  If remainder of cruise is less than 3 day, than your statement about 'rest of cruise' is correct.

    4) If locked out, simply converse w/ the casino host.  They will either direct you to guest services to reinstate permission for charges, or they will get it resolved for you.

Glad to hear that. I will definitely dress for formal & my DH will wear a jacket & maybe a tie. If dressing up isn’t for you go to buffet.

We prefer the YC restaurant, but understand some prefer the buffet.  Regarding dressing up, that has nothing to do with where we choose to dine.  Dockers, button down shirt.  Jacket (windbreaker), but only if it's cold.  No idea what a 'tie' is.

Thanks for doing the review. Lots of good info. Can you comment on what people were wearing on the formal night? I'm thinking a sportcoat/ slacks, maybe a tie.

Just off the same sailing as well.  Formal night is no different than any night for me....dockers and a button down or golf shirt.  Docksiders. More than dressy enough.

if you like perks, have you tried Yacht club on MSC.  i just did recently and as much as i loved my crown loft, my 1 BR aqua suite and my royal suite, nothing beats the value for YC

Oh ya, he's tried them.  George was our encouragement going into our first YC....and we'll forever curse him lol. CL remains our favorite room, but overall you can't beat the YC experience.  RC doesn't even come close in our opinion.

I am hoping I can just show up to enjoy the wet areas when it is time to relax.

We visit the spa each day.  Have never made a reservation, and have always been greeted w/ a smile and welcomed right in.

The info I am looking for isn't connected to my current offers. The offers in my online have their own sailings, specific to each.  I'm looking for the spreadsheet that lists all sailing offered for certificate point levels earned on a July sailing.

If ya get on the rccl casino fb page(s) (a search will yield a couple), the details on various code look-ups/etc are all there.

I had not heard of that before.  Is that a written policy someplace or just a known undisclosed perq?

Good question...guess I assumed was just part of the casino perks.  Worked for us several years ago, but then was not a factor after that, as we achieved prime, got drinks for the following year, and then made prime again and kept the process going for the following year(s).

Hope I didn't give false hope to anyone....made me think back a bit there....guess once ya make/continue to make prime, it's a non-issue.  Again, hope I didn't misspeak to OP's original question.

Hi.  Does anyone know how the casino perks work?  If I get 2500 points on my August cruise, will I be able to get free drinks in the casino on my October cruise or do I need to wait until next year?

Go to the host when ya get 1k points...won't get ya prime, but will get ya free drinks on that cruise.  Once prime, free every cruise.

Here's the thing, I think there's some people who enjoy political debate, I have plenty of that in my family. I don't. A lot of of people don't. And I think if you're with new people, the polite thing to do is to try to include everyone in conversation, keep it light, and feel the group out. I think it's kinder and more polite to include eveyone.

I agree. Most that have a different view are all-inclusive/love all/etc until you disagree w/ their point of view.

My wife and I have been on 13 Royal cruises (she's actually been on 14) and one MSC cruise.  Thanks to the pandemic, we hit Diamond quicker than expected (I love it when people look down on us because we are pandemic Crown and Anchor babies 😄 )

Good for you!  One of the main reasons we tried MSC was to get away from the 'status snobs'. We'd hear all about how they're this/that, got the nameplate, etc, and then laugh when we'd run into them at the tier gatherings and hear 'Oh, we didn't know...would you like to join us?'.  Certainly not all, but enough to get annoying.

We still cruise Royal quite a bit, but if MSC YC remains as nice as it currently is (and near its current price point)...we'll continue w/ MSC a bit more often, as Royal can't hold a candle to them in our opinion.

Since this is not a health issue, such as an allergy but just a dish preference,

That's us as well.  As impressive as it is that they'll essentially bend over backwards to please, I can't fathom ordering something that's not on the menu (whether it be from another part of the ship, or specifically created for me)....just can't be one of the dudes out of 6k pax who can't find something on the menu/trough to suffice.  I understand the 'I paid for MY vacation/They'll do anything to please US/etc' arguments to some degree, but it's not a degree we have aspired to.  The menu at every feast we've been a part of onboard has seemed to have something we could 'choke' down lol.

Hello - We are sailing out August 25th on Odyssey and my daughter wants to join. We check the Royal website daily, but it appears sold out and the sailing no longer populates. Can you please confirm whether it is actually sold out? Thank you very much!

Another good reason to not only use a TA for questions, but to use them to book as well.  They typically have better ability to make examples like this happen.

We received our monogrammed PJ's while staying in the RS on Silhouette.  I recommend you order up a size or 2...they shrink terribly.

They're only intended to fit properly at the beginning of a cruise.

I have sailed 14 cruises on MSC in "steerage" and hate when I read things like "stay away". Getting ready to go on our 60th cruise on different cruise lines and MSC "steerage" is awesome! We sail 3 to 4 weeks on a ship at a time and I can do that in "steerage" where as I would only be able to do 7 days in YC.  MSC has the nicest crew of any cruise ship I have ever been on and after our next 22 days on NCL will be looking at going back to MSC.

Awesome.  We would like to try ourselves, and probably will at some point;  been reluctant to do so based on experiences of friends as well as overall reviews. We're pretty easy to please, so that will help if we decide to do so.

I was just looking at the reviews of MSC passengers.  It seems as if there is no middle ground in terms of opinions.  I'll read a long list of 1-2 star reviews, followed by a string of 4-5 star reviews.

Prior to sailing MSC, we were advised 'If cruising in steerage, steer far far away.  If cruising in YC, get ready to be blown away'.

We have only sailed in YC, and can say it beats any suite experience we've ever had cruising.
