  1. Don't get me wrong we have had some excellent butlers who have gone above and beyond and I hope that last years experience was just a fluke. Wishing you all a fantastic cruise on a beautiful ship...enjoy 😁
  2. If he's anything like the one we had on Arvia last year he will do as little as possible. In the past our butler has been more than happy to book reservations in the MDR or speciality restaurants for us as well as arranging with the manager so that our daughter (not in the suite) could dine with us for breakfast. Last year he said he was unable to do any of that and it had to be done on the app. Totally useless, unless we were just unlucky.
  3. Yes quite but I just wonder if it would have made a decision on the preferred operator, just IMO, I feare a lot of insurance claims coming on.
  4. So am I, also for the poor driver. What an awful situation to be in. We have travelled with Eavesway countless times and never had any problems, I wonder if it had been Intercruises the ship would have waited longer. Aurora was going on a 16 night Northern Lights cruise, such a shame.
  5. Do we know which company it was, Intercruises or Eavesway?
  6. Absolutely love Perranporth, we usually stay on Perran Sands which is ideally placed for everything. Have you visited Healeys Cider Farm? Best cream teas anywhere.
  7. Good morning everyone here is a message for anyone who comes under Stoke City Council. You can now register to have your garden waste collected all year round at a cost of Β£40. Not bad really when you look at other parts of the country.
  8. Pete I echo every word. When my mum developed dementia we did not have POA and had to go through the Court of Protection. This turned out to be very very expensive, so anyone reading this with elderly parents please apply for power of attorney.
  9. Sounds good, give them a go and let us know how you get on. Make sure they are really thin though.
  10. Oh wow thats my Hole in the Wall! Glenn never did get his new build and the old shop was demolished to make way for new houses, such a shame. Thank you Presto2, brings back a lot of memories.
  11. Here you go a good old Staffordshire oatcake with bacon and cheese......mmmm
  12. No nothing like. Oatcakes you can fill like a wrap with anything you want really, my favourite is bacon, cheese and mushroom. Yum!
  13. What a small world it is. Oatcakes seem to run in families dont they. Our local one was The Hole in the Wall on Waterloo Street when I was a kid, nobody to beat them including my uncle who was just up the road. We have also tried Poveys which you can get from Bridgemere and Trentham.
  14. Oatcakes should be nice and thin. My uncle had an oatcake shop in Hanley and his oatcakes were thick but very popular, not for me! Our favourite shop has now been demolished but we have managed to find Aunty Sarah's Oatcakes in our local shop which are the closest to our original.
  15. Love The Traitors. Half way through Australian series 2, don't forget US series 1 is on iplayer and series 2 coming soon. Enjoy! 😁
  16. For those of you who know Trentham Gardens this was the lake this morning around 10ish, and of course one of our gorgeous little girlie Cheddar, 5 months old now and growing fast!
  17. Cheddar took herself off to bed early tonight in her den waiting for Santa. We are now watching A Christmas Carol Disneys version with Jim Carrey, the best one IMO.
  18. We took Cheddar to Trentham Gardens this morning thinking we would have a nice quiet walk as everyone would be food shopping. Forgot that every Saturday they have a Parkrun and today was a special fun run with most of the runners in fancy dress. Of course she wanted to run with them. Arrived back home absolutely shattered after chasing a snowman by the lake.
