Every time I hear this song, it transports me to the lido deck on a Carnival ship:
This...

I know this doesn't answer your question, but in 2006, the space shuttle was scheduled to launch on Thursday during our vacation in Daytona beach. We had planed to watch over dinner & drinks from our ocean-view balcony, when the launch was scrapped.
Saturday morning, when I went online to check in for our Sunday am flight home on SWA, I discovered that I had actually booked the return flight for Sat, and missed it. After scrambling to get another flight, the only one I could get was for 8pm that night (Sat), cutting our vacation short a day, and creating a chaotic rush to pack, check out and get to the airport.
About a half hour into the flight (from Orlando to Hartford), the captain announced that the Space Shuttle had launched and he had received permission to turn the plane around temporarily so we could view it from the air. It was an incredible sight, but the most memorable thing about it to me was the excitement in the Captain’s voice as he made the announcement – like a little kid about to meet his favorite sports hero.
Wow, that must have been a once in a lifetime deal. WTG.

Cool, I'm hoping it gets delayed for at least 3 days. Then I will be able to see it on my trip south from Charleston.

Casino, every bit of it, and then some. :)

Shoe Goo? This reminds me of a few years ago. I was cruising with my BFF and when we were waiting to debark in the lounge with hundreds of people, one poor lady had just broken one of her only pair of sandals not in the luggage. I had just received my 3rd or 4th Carnival ditty bag, so I whipped it out, cut off the strings with my tiny fingernail clippers, and wrapped it around her shoe and foot. Effectively holding her shoe on until she could get to the car and her luggage.
Just saying, I don't think Shoe Goo would have helped, but there is always a way.

If you can wait, I will let you know after my cruise. I'll be on the first Ecstasy cruise in Feb. Woot.. woot..

I'm wondering if this question will go away when you find out how much it is for a single.. Personally, I'd book myself in a cabin, then the kids in a joining cabin. Let us know what you do please.
Either way, enjoy your cruise!

The Hasbro show is the most boring thing at sea. Unless you or your child is picked to play, that makes it way more interesting. We skipped it after watching about 5 minutes of it.
Not interested.

I called Special Needs at Sea to book my wheel chair for my Feb cruise out of Charleston. They are great! 800 513 4515

Thanks for all this info, I have the same problem only opposite. I know, how is that? Gastric cancer, took 1/2 my stomach. I am still on a feeding tube, but hope to be off before my cruise. Surgery was over 6 months ago. I have to eat small (read teaspoon sized) portions every 2 or 3 hours. But, I need all the fat and calories I can get. No bread for me though.
Cheese is one of my best eating foods. I will contact special needs and see about a fridge for my cabin on the Ecstasy.. That will truly help.
Hope you all lose all the weight you want, I wish i could find it. I've lost too much already.

Yep, hoping it gets home.

I usually leave my empty Coke, or whatever can on the counter. then it is taken away and replaced.
DH does drink a beer or two from the not-quite-cold enough fridge.

Aft Wrap on the Legend? In Alaska?? My dream set up. You will love it, plenty to do, see, and enjoy. Don't forget the binoculars.
-
I'd say if it's not possible, go without him.. I know it will be lonely for him, but at least you won't lose the whole amount. You will have a good time, just be friendly and meet people.
If you chose to do this just don't mention it to the cruise line.
He will be a no-show. You will get his part of the taxes/port fee's returned. Your best bet, really.
Congratulations on the new job BF.. lol

Yea, what a bummer! Enjoy!

Yes..the magnet will clear your room key (credit cards are much sturdier than room keys..won't hurt them).....why not just carry a very small purse on the ship? Mine is "clutch" size, but with a strap...easy and lightweight....room enough for the room key, lipstick, comb and tissues!
I hate having anything dangling from my wrist or have anything in my hands while wandering about the ship.. I'm old and wobbly and need hands for safety rails and such.
I will only carry the key card, and some cash, and a lipstick, and maybe my camera... if it fits. Will see.

I love the Steak House, and always do it first night. Why not start your cruise in a great way? Of course, you might be disappointed in the dining room food after that, but can't be helped. lol
First night is a free bottle of wine also..
-
No, and no.. maybe balcony cabins, but I doubt it.. If medically necessary, they will provide mini fridges.
-
Easy, I do NOT live near any "ports". I do not pay for any air and fly nonrev world wide.
I do have more money than I can spend, and my travels don't even make a dent in my accounts. My income covers all this travel via retirement. Yes I am fortunate, and I live for today. Fact.
Ok keep flaming away, along with the name calling. I'll say sour grapes to some of the comments, and will be on to more traveling. Ha.
No flaming, but I am jealous. Congratulations!!

Be sure to tip your room service delivery people. I keep a stack of 1's in a close cabinet for this. Usually 2, depending on how quickly they deliver the goods.
Other than that, a little extra to the room steward after your cruise is great. Yes, we prepay our tips. So much easier to do...
-
Thanks, that's good to know. I wear pretty sturdy clothes, with longer tops so shouldn't have a pick pocket problem. lol
I wonder if the magnet will bother credit or room cards? Uh oh, this might not be a good idea.

I just spotted these, and ordered me some for my upcoming cruise. I usually keep my card and money in a pocket or bra, but thought these would be nice when I wasn't wearing pockets.
On the Go Pouch
They look like they would come in handy, and be great especially for formal nights when my dressy pants don't have pockets. I'm hoping a lipstick can fit in there too.
Heck, I can't get the link to work, I googled belt free pouch and it came up though.
Any body else tried these?

I find the Spirit Class ships the easiest to navigate. The dining rooms are in the back of the ship so no having to decks 2 or 5 to go all the way down. Spirit, Miracle, Legend and Pride.
Legend is my very favorite ship. Very easy to navigate.

The Behind the Fun tour is just what you want. I do it on every cruise. Well worth the money. You get to see the Bridge, Engine control room, laundry, food and liquor lockers, behind the stage, chat with the stage manager. A visit to the crew dining room. You also get to see the galley, and have a chat with the head Chef. It is a long tour. I'm pretty sure there is an age limit though. You have to also wear closed toe shoes.. no camera's or phones allowed. Book it on board.

That is way cool. I was once on a beach south of St Mary's and saw one come out, it looked like from the sand. There was, of course, a channel cut just big enough for them.. It was way awesome.
