Won all three of my bids, always just had to reprint my stuff, easy enough though to reprint
-
Thanks for such s fun review

Ncl will send you an email at about 80 days prior to sailing date or check your myncl account at that 80 day mark to see if you have the upgrade banner, from the email or banner their is a link that will take you to the website to upgrade.
note not all are offered to upgrade, especially those who book thru ta's find a lot of ta's do not participate

It pays to continue to check prices, enjoy your h9!!!

Le bistro by far

Yes, I clearly remember I was tween and loved sun bathing and my mom waited in line first day of cruise to reserve me a lounger near pool. It was on costa Carla c ship and it was 14 dollars for the week.

Thank you so much for sharing your cruise with us all. Enjoy your last day!

Anyone hear anything about the epic this Saturday??
Look at the availability, I did only a couple inside guarantees, so if a stray upgrade comes in it will be last minute if someone cancels, its spring break

Right!?!? 🙂 I have looked so many times today in hopes we’d hear.
My experience has been, once 5 days prior, once 4 days prior, and once 3 days prior. All three received upgrade but also all three were not on peak sailing dates like yours. If you look at availability for your ship it's sold out for this weekend so any stray upgrade would probably come on the very last day if there is a cancellation. Enjoy your cruise!

Yes the cabin with one person would have to pay the single supplement rate. Other option is book one balcony for two and the other stays in inside studio cabin

Data mining? Is that gathering facts and figures on what we do for future knowledge
Yes, all that statistical information can be used for future trends etc. very valuable data to companies

Do they send out upgrade offers on Suites that show no availability to have a backup in case the people cancel at the last minute and they don't want the Suite to sail empty?
We are in a DOS on Star, and received an offer to upgrade to Garden Villa, but the GV's have been booked for a year.
Yes, remember they are also data mining

How often are minimum bids accepted; if at all?
Not often but it can happen on a sailing that has a lot of inventory left 2 to 3 days before sailing. Supply and demand and the most $$$ profit on each sailing
-
Your odds of upgrading are very poor, go look at availability haven and spa are already sold out so unless there is a cancellation enjoy your large balcony

See theirs is higher then mine..mine was 800 H4, 400 H6 and 400 H7, so it is different for diff prices paid
Are you going March 10th. I thought you were going in April. Prices fluctuate for each date on the same ship
-
Nope if it's the same sailing and they are in balcony according to reading this thread for two years it's the same mimum bid. That's how I have seen it I could be wrong but that's what I've seen
- 1
-
After Reading the thread, closely you will same people different starting price for na versus bx and everything in between same bid range. Other part is most upgrades are within last week before cruise, so they don't look at aft balcony paid 3k and bd balcony paid 2k they will upgrade whoever bids most to haven or mini suit as applicable then take highest bid for balcony and give it to the aft or bd balcony it's about the bottom line $$&&
-
The bid range only changes via the "meta"type cabin i.e. Balcony sail away and aft balcony have the same bid range.
if you read the threads closely you will see that. Keep in mind though bid ranges can change on same ship different sailing dates. It all goes back to supply and demand = $$$$$

Congrats! So you lose the unlimited beverage package if you upgrade is accepted to haven?? I am bidding on it for our 3/7 epic cruise but don't want to lose that, it's a birthday celebration!
You keep the original perks you had, the person who had just won upgrade had a sailaway balcony, and because it was sailaway you get no perks i.e. No beverage package internet pkg etc. if you already have beverage package and win your upgrade you keep your perks i.e. Beverage package in your case

Yes you are grandfathered in

Thanks for the review, we have been on the dawn twice and I agree with you the later evening entertainment was hardly anything and we are late night people. I would go on the dawn again though if I had a similar itinerary to yours with intensive port days.

That is true.
Whether or a poor bid is accepted is dependent on the sailing and how it is selling. Minimum upgrade bids are accepted on some sailings. It's all about supply, demand, and revenue maximization for NCL.
Well put Davy Jones. It's all about supply and demand. You cannot compare a spring break almost sold out cruise with a early December not full ship. It's like comparing apples and pizza, completely different. Been successfully all three times, but always travel fairly off season.
What was your upgrade offer and what did you bid

You can get upgrade up to 48 hours prior, if declined you will get an email around 2 to 4 pm two days prior to cruise
