We just booked an Alaskan cruise on the Eurodam and are in a signature suite. By adding club orange our price dropped by $95 and we will be in the same cabin. This will be my first time with club orange.

For those who have been to Curacao before, is there anywhere to swim near the cruise port?

I have a question. My friend and I have HAL’s platinum insurance. If for some reason she had to cancel at the last minute, would I be able to travel solo?

We always have a regular veranda and have the room service attendant put the tray on the ottoman on the balcony. This is our first morning tradition.

We always enjoy a leisurely breakfast on the ship then meander over to the island. I love snorkeling and swimming in that beautiful water. In all the times we’ve been there we’ve never eaten at the buffet. We usually come back and eat at the Dive In.

Im doing a 21-day Southern Caribbean cruise in November 2023 with a partial canal transit. The only ports that have opened excursions are Cartagena, Panama Canal, and Costa Rica. We purchased an excursion at each of these ports and used our $300 excursion credits. We’re not big drinkers but do have a few sea days. The HIA is worth it for us. We also have 4 nights of specialty dining.

My credit finally showed up and my TA was able to add it to my account. Is this split between the two guests? If both guests are teachers, can they each apply for it?

Did it work? My TA has tried calling HAL and she didn’t make any headway. I sent her the email that showed I was verified.

As a single woman, I’ve been lucky to have a single friend who loves cruising as much as I do. This past Christmas I wanted to cruise during my winter break but she wanted to stay back with her 101 y/o mother - totally understandable but my mom passed away in February 2021. I took a 7-day Mexican Riviera cruise out of San Diego and did it solo. I interacted on our roll call and went to the single/solo meet up on the first night. Long story short I had a great time. Did some things on my own and other things with people I had met. One of the women I got to know is going to be stopping by and staying with me for a few days this summer. I was hesitant to go by myself but it turned out great. I ate a few meals by myself early on in the trip but that was okay. Do what you feel comfortable with and enjoy the adventures!

Did you have any concerns going to Lima?

Last year on the Rotterdam we would stop and get two bottles of water at the Half Moon bar on our way back to our room. I didn’t realize they were no longer part of the package.

I see the bonus card will expire 12/2023 but does the main gift card expire then too?

I am on the Konigsdam- I hope it’s open and I can board early.

Good to know. I’ll be going out of San Diego in December. I like to be onboard in time to have lunch in the MDR.

Lima is a stop on my 2023 cruise. Some mentioned the potential for altitude sickness but I can’t imagine that’s an issue if you’re not going up into the mountains.

I’m planning on doing the trip November 2023. Any thoughts on weather during that time?

American is doing a lot of flight changing. My flight in December to San Diego moved up 5.5 hours earlier - to 6:00am. Now I need to stay near the airport as I live 3 hours away. I tried calling Flight Ease and their message said they were aware of flight time changes. I didn't have time to stay on hold. I'm looking at the upside that I'll have an extra half-day in San Diego. I'm fully paid now so may try calling AA and seeing if they can offer a little later flight.

I want to stay with Hilton hotels so the Hilton Bayfront would be a decent choice?

Ugh, yes on Pacific Highway. Guess I need to keep looking elsewhere.

I ended up booking at the Hampton Inn downtown. It’s affordable and looks like I can walk to a few sights. My outgoing flight has switched to 6am so now I’ll need to spend the night near the airport (I live 3 hours away). It will all be worth it though!
