We've done both and preferred Rony's. Our driver was Arnold.
Arnold was our driver as well and he was fantastic.

We loved the shows on our Christmas cruise. Million dollar quarter was our favorite. Review of the entire trip plus a snippet video from Howl at the moon - although I think someone called me the ‘preachers wife’ because I might have been a bit loud. Lol. https://gotravellife.com/2018/01/03/about-us/.

We decided to skip
Excursions here and just RELAX. Yes it’s a man made beach but it was relaxing and you didn’t have to do any of the zip lining, pool party etc. just nice and relaxing. Pics in the link https://gotravellife.com/2018/01/03/about-us/

You could always book your own excursion at Roatan. We used Ronys Tours and they will take you anywhere you want to go and get you back plenty early. Pictures, description and links for everything we did are in my post from Christmas this past year. Hope you enjoy. https://gotravellife.com/2018/01/03/about-us/

Do folks cruise to bathe? I haven’t taken a bath in 50 years....
Just one night it’s nice to have a glass of wine and sit in some bubble bath and enjoy that view! One is those moments of ‘where else can I experience this?’ :)

We had the escargot at Le Bistro (yummy)! This was over Christmas week. I’ve got pictures of menus (where I could them clearly) in my review. https://gotravellife.com/2018/01/03/about-us/

We always stay in the 2 bedroom since we’re traveling with a teenager and it’s nice to have her own bathroom. Pics are on this review if you want to review. The tub is huge and you can’t beat the view. https://gotravellife.com/2018/01/03/about-us/

While we did not stay in a spa suite, I posted extensive details of the Haven amenities, if you’re interested. It’s the reason we cruise NCL :). https://gotravellife.com/2018/01/03/about-us/

I took quite a few pictures of the island, the restaurant and pools, menus etc so you can peruse. We had a very relaxing day- we did not zip line or anything like that, just enjoyed a quiet day on the beach. https://gotravellife.com/2018/01/03/about-us/

I did a few pics at the ‘manufactured’ beach- we ended up having a great time. Even took pics of the zip line and the restaurant menus. We had our 15 year old with us. Every other port we did our own thing and I included links and details on those too. Hope it helps. https://gotravellife.com/2018/01/03/about-us/

For an additional $500pp yes absolutely the Haven is worth it. I wouldn't think twice.
But this spring I was in a totally different dilemma. The NCL ships I wanted to sail, that had great itineraries, ships I'd never been on, etc. wanted 9k for a 2 bedroom Haven suite. I couldn't justify that when the Epic had 2 bedroom Haven suites for $6k. I've been on the Epic a few times, the itinerary was really terrible but........3k difference in the Haven from one ship to another!!
I do have my own price point for cruising in the Haven. It is below 9k a week! Yes, you do have to decide personally if it's a good choice for you but for $500 per person, this isn't even worth a minute's thought. Yes, of course for that price you jump on the opportunity!
Yes we noticed the big ship 2bedroom pricing has seemed to jump dramatically as well but epic out of orlando was still pretty good.

Super awesome very comprehensive review! Thanks for taking the time! By any chance, do you have scanned pics of the dailies? Trying to plan which night to go to which restaurant and show but don't want to miss anything. Are the comedy shows only on certain nights? Interested in the shows that aren't the ones listed or that you can pre-reserve. Thanks!
Thanks-
Sorry I did not take pictures of the dailies but will do that next time!! The comedy show is not every night as well as Howl at the moon. They alternate in the same venue. We just ask the haven concierge to book us when we board.
As to making sure we don’t miss anything- we tend to make easier dinner reservations (like 5:30 or 6) as most things start at 7 and then we party after. :). I look up the in port times and will adjust dinner times around that (since we do our own thing normally, we are back way early anyway), so can get cleaned us for dinner pretty quick. :)

I guess I've seen pictures of Haven suites with two bedrooms. We are just two people. Do they have Haven rooms that are just one bedroom? Do they all come with extra sitting rooms? Do we need this? I'd be up for getting a haven for all the perks but just don't know about the wasted extra space?
You can see a room floor plan on the Norwegian haven site for each shop..

We absolutely love the haven experience and have sailed on Epic, Pearl, Escape and Getaway. (Getaway is my favorite). I’ve listed the benefits , taken pictures of the room so you can compare- and pics of the common areas and menus in haven. It’s definitely worth it is us as we live the quiet. We’ve been on Oceania and there’s just not as much to do at night- so still luxury but more to do. Full review on my post https://gotravellife.com/2018/01/03/about-us/

New Ships vs Old Ships
in Norwegian Cruise Line
Posted
We’ve been on the Pearl twice (including Panama Canal), Epic several times, Escape - but the Getaway is our favorite. We choose based on ports and schedule. https://gotravellife.com/2018/01/03/about-us/#Ship_Common_Areas
