  1. I saw a video & there were towel animals on all of the pool deck chairs on Nieuw Statendam. My niece would love this! Any idea if this is on any specific day or every cruise? Thanks!
  2. If a young adult (or anyone for that matter) is a picky eater & does not care for any of the entrees in the MDR, can they order i.e. chicken tenders or mac & cheese, etc.? We want her to go to dinner with us, but don't want her to feel embarrassed for not ordering one of the main entrees. (Nieuw Statendam) Thanks, Kris
  3. I'm not sure what your point is unless you are just poking fun at me? Or am I missing something? A year ago on our cruise, mask were required for the staff and I felt bad for the ones that were outside sweating & wearing the masks. I am fully vaccinated & boosted & work for a hospital, however I respect everyone's own decision about that & masks. It really doesn't matter to me.

  6. During on-line Check-In, it said "Your card will be pre-authorized for $420 on the day of departure". Is that a random amount? I know that I will owe the tips of 100pp & there are 2 of us. Thanks! Kris
  7. Since this is somewhat related, I would hope that each ship has a tv channel where you can see the camera on the front of the ship. This way, if you have an inside cabin, you can see if you are in port. Thanks!
  8. My SIL is trying to get the Navigator App on an Android LG K20v & it is telling her it won't work with that device. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks! Kris

  13. I've tried searching for this topic, but I find it confusing. Does texting work on the ship & do you need to have wi-fi to use it? I have Verizon & found on their website that they have a "pay as you go" plan. My niece is not getting wi-fi, but we need to be able to text/communicate with her on board. I have heard that we should put our phones on Airplane mode, but then that blocks texts, correct? Thanks! Kris

  16. My young adult niece will be on our Nieuw Statendam January cruise and I'm asking for suggestions for her. We spend most of our days in the sun at the pool and she is not a sun person. I have done some searches & found some things she might like (BBC Earth presentations, puzzles/games, finding a shady spot to read, etc.). Does anyone have a recent "Activities" list that they give out daily on the NS? I appreciate any suggestions. Thanks, Kris

  18. It seems I cannot make show reservations now for my January cruise. When I'm on board, can I do that on the app or do you just show up? I really liked it on Royal to plan ahead and make all the reservations before we left, so less to do on board. Not a big deal though. Thanks, Kris
  19. Hi, I'm new to HAL. I did search for some info on tender tickets but didn't find anything specific. On RC & Celebrity, we just went to the tender door & got in line. I hear for HAL you have to get a ticket on HAL. Can you do that on the app or do you go to Guest Services? Thanks! Kris
  20. I'm confused by this. For our January cruise on Nieuw Statendam, we got the "Have it all" which includes the Signature beverage package. On the website for this package, they show what looks like a canned water & the words say "bottled water". Are you saying it might not be included? Thanks!

  22. I was on Waitlist for an Excursion for my January cruise. I rec'd an email that it was available & I had 72 hrs to book. I go to the website & can't use my Excursion credit. Also, somehow now it showed double the excursions for the same one (2 for me & 2 for my husband). I was not able to remove the duplicates. So, I called & the guy said that you cannot use the credit on waitlisted excursions. So, I had to pay for them and when on the ship I have to visit Guest Services to get onboard credit? It was hard to understand him. What an inconvenience! Has anyone heard of this? Thanks, Kris
  23. Well, it would not be a demand and I would never even be upset it they didn't have it. It was a simple question that i wondered about. I thought that was what this message board was for. I will take my stevia for my coffee.
  24. Silly question, but I like to save some calories in my 2 morning latte's. Do they have sugar free syrups for the coffee/latte? Thanks, Kris
