  1. Forgive my naivety, but to the extent that anyone can answer, please do so: 1. Is this a random sale due to overstock onboard (to the extent you know or asked)? 2. If someone has Plus or Premier, is there a further discount from the discounted bottle? 3. Is this for immediate consumption or take home (assume consumption, but just asking). Thank you!
  2. Thank you all for the very good feedback, general observations and recommendations. We arrive in 4 weeks so I will continue to follow up with the 2 hotels I have currently booked. And notably, we depart on a Saturday afternoon flight and will be sure to give ourselves plenty of time to get dropped off & checked in.
  3. Cruising to AK in late August. Both Seatac hotels booked so far have cancelled their shuttle services (YES, everyone should follow up!). Have now learned that there is long-term construction at Seatac which is likely inhibiting/affecting the shuttle services. Arrive on Delta at 9pm on a Friday night and just want an easy Marriot or Hilton property near the airport, with shuttle if possible. Been before-stayed at Marriott Seatac. Are there any locals who have the 411 on the construction issues and/or effect on shuttle services? Thank you in advance!
  4. Respectfully, other cruise lines do the exact same thing. RCCL sells a filet from its steakhouse with similar pricing. It's a better cut of meat and worth the $ in my opinion. Great option for the meat lover in the duo or group without having to pay the premium cover at the Princess steakhouse.
  5. Thanks for the info. I recently had thermal suite access on a Carnival ship and it was wonderful...I really enjoyed the beds and the whirlpool. This definitely changes my outlook on the pending upgrade offer.
  6. Can anyone confirm whether suite benefits on Royal Princess include access to thermal suite? This is a game changer for me in terms of booking or bidding on a suite. I have researched, but have read mixed responses. Thank you!
  7. I'm also interested in this tour and would love to hear about a firsthand experience.
  8. I am on the March 25th sailing - same ship & itinerary. A very recent post on same ship, same cruise suggested it would be held Wednesday night - after Mazatlan port. That's what I am counting on for my Chef's Table event.
  9. I submitted a request last Friday and was turned down yesterday. Not sad though, we got an amazing casino deal.
  10. We sailed on Indy 2 weeks ago. We flew in day of from the ATL and had private shuttle take us to port. Our check in time was 11:30. I think we waited all of 4 minutes in a chair in a big room that was mostly vacant and we were on the ship by 11:40. Drink in hand by 11:45. Port Canaveral had its ShiPt together that day. Eight weeks prior, I sailed on Explorer out of Miami. What a cluster Clfuck! Boarding was seriously delayed...several hours. Standing out in the sun with humidity & the skankiest of bathrooms (SHAME ON YOU @PORT OF MIAMI) was a horrible experience. Rumors were rampant but factually, we know that the ship cleared late and coupled with the not enough Immigration officers for all the incoming ships, departure process on the Explorer was delayed. Domino effect thereafter. Will board Odyssey 6 weeks from today in Rome with an 11:30 boarding pass - - I guess we'll see what happens.
  11. We disembarked 2 weeks ago. Walked off at 7:00 am & had private transfer with CruiseControl. We had an 11am flight, but definitely could have made a 10:00 am flight. That said, the 3 of us are seasons travelers, all have TSA precheck (line was empty), and know how to tag our checked bags at the airport. Remember that in Orlando, you likely have to take the plane train (or whatever it is called - - sorry, I live in Atlanta and that is what it is called).

    Rome Cabs

I'm in the process of making our bookings (to & from port) with Rome Cabs. Question: How do I know which Pier the Odyssey will be at for purposes of the pickup and transfer to FCO? We have very early flights so I don't want to mess this up. The online booking form asks me for the Pier number. I did a pretty good Internet search and could not find any specific information (such as Odyssey always docks at "Pier X"). Thanks in advance!
  13. Brown Eyed Girl is my number one. Sung by many, but best sung by former RCCL (Carnival & Holland) cruise director (now director of Viking) Kieron Buffery.
  14. Yes, the Oberon is my go-to on board. It's a steal at a 2-buck upcharge per glass (vs. the 40% off bottle price).
  15. Yes, the former. I've bought this package onboard before. We'll see in a couple weeks when I sail again. 🙂
  16. Thanks for posting the drink package deal! This is quite helpful in planning for my upcoming cruise. Good to know the onboard BOGO 1/2 off still exists...at least on Day One.
  17. What happened to the onboard buy one, get one half price deal on day one or two?
  18. Thanks so much for your pic & video of Falmouth & Labadee...it will be my first time in those ports in a couple weeks on Explorer. If you still have the Compass from 1st or 2nd day, can you please let me know how much the unlimited drink package was if bought on board? Thank you & keep the good info coming... and enjoy your cruise of course!
  19. Thanks for sharing. Great info! If you get a chance, would you mind posting the onboard Deluxe beverage package price in FLL? I've recently seen $88 with a second package 1/2 off on first day of cruise. This is usually published in the daily Compass. Thanks & bon voyage!!!!!
