  1. Well that is a real shame that it either had a glitch or someone could add all those people and have them shut it down. I will be on the Wonder this week and was looking forward to see how it actually works. I will have voom, but my brother won't get a iphone so I can't text him if we lose each other. We will just have to use the google meet app if it's not back up.
  2. Until I watched that video tour I realized that. I have watched many of his tours, but not of that ship
  3. It should, but like Another_critic said we don't know what they are interested in. Show them that video tour. They also have a teen area on the ship and do activities and get to hang out with kids their age as well. The basketball court is inside and the have the Ripcord which is a simulation skydive. In the seaplex area they should have an area of xbox's that they can play as well. It also has a flow rider. Don't know if they have taken it down but they are suppose to take out the skypads off all the RCCL ships.
  4. The Quantum class have a royal esplanade (not as big and wide) which the Oasis has a Promenade that is more of a open deck. It has a indoor pool and outdoor. It doesn't have slides on the pool deck. No boardwalk or aqua theater. It has the North Star and bumper cars. The lay out is a little different for other things on the ship like the rock wall is on the side and Oasis is on the back on the boardwalk. This video breaks down a little better
  5. I believe 1030 if you in a suite/pinnacle. 11am or later for all others.
  6. Usually they go up or the same price of whatever it was a few weeks before boarding. If they gave you a deal on embarkation day, then everyone would wait till they boarded. Real way to see if it would be worth it is if you drink 6 or more mixed drinks a day you break even. If you are diamond or higher, it's not worth it since you get 4 or more drinks free a day. Then the extra drinks just put on your seapass.
  7. You have to follow the extension cord back to the ship....DUH
  8. There are many factors that can play into this. Sometimes the vendors might not bring them the same quality of food as the last cruise. Also they have so many cooks back there trying to make a mass quantity of food. That has to be very hard for all them to get it JUST right every time. If you are looking for really good food then you must get the unlimited dining package unfortunately. Anytime I am going into the MDR or the windjammer, I don't go in there with the mindset of being blown away from a dish. All I am looking for is a nice sit down meal and to try new things. Just be happy that you don't have to clean up the dishes or the table. You just get up and say thank you and walk out and enjoy the rest of the night.
  9. Hope it is when I get on in two weeks on the Wonder...I would like to try their breakfast.
  10. My cabin was warm on the Allure. I had people comment and they said they had them check the filters for their AC in their cabin and once they switched them out problem was solved. Give that a shot
  11. I would do Odyssey for the extra day and the ports. I'm going on the Wonder in 13 days and excited to be on the newest ship, but I heard the Odyssey is really nice. Im sure they fixed the broken stuff from the teens this past spring break
  12. It is showing on the compass that it is open for breakfast, but I thought I heard they don't anymore?
  13. Oh yea, if he is active and with the boys the Wonder is a great ship for him. They have flow rider, zip line, rock wall, ping pong tables, full basketball court, putt putt, ice skating etc. The Oasis class ships have so many things going on. The Med. cruises are more ports usually but sea days are fun was well in the Caribbean. Those days are the ones you can relax and catch up on sleep or find all the fun activities they offer. Another tip on the sea days for Oasis class ship you can get free breakfast at Johnny Rockets, not a big wait to sit and they serve you.
  14. What does he do as vacations? I have found on a cruise even with the size of an Oasis class ship you can avoid lines for the most part. Here are some tips I can give you and these are for if he truly wants to avoid lines. If he is waiting to eat at the Windjammer for breakfast, they best way to avoid the lines I have found is to go when they first open, usually 7am. I am an earlier riser on a cruise even staying up late. I usually go have a light or mid size breakfast. Then a hour or so later the rest of the people I will cruise with will start getting up and want to go to breakfast at like 830/9 ish. I will go again and it's a little busier but not bad. If he is not an earlier riser he could always go to the dinning room and eat breakfast on the sea days. You might have to just wait for a table (just like a restaurant back home). Next for lunch do the same thing if he is looking at eating in the Windjammer, get there when it first opens. But being the Wonder you have many other options for lunch, El Loco Fresh, Park Cafe, Sorrentos, or even a specialty restaurant that he can pay for since you are gifting a cruise. Dinner I am guessing you guys will do the main dining room or specialty dinning. Even if he hates lines for other things, like the elevator there are small ways around that. One big one is after a show. Most of the time people like to go back to their cabin for something or to a different part of the ship. Well the way I found around that but it takes some walking, but HEY im not in a rush im on vacation. Walk to the other end of the ship from where the show was and take those elevators. Or just simply take the stairs if you don't mind that. I tell people that taking a cruise is like a hotel on water. The best part one day you are in the middle of the ocean and then the next day you are in a port with amazing views with water that looks like a swimming pool. The time frame that you are looking at going could be good, but from the trend of what I've seen the Wonder being the newest ship they have, has been sold out each sailing. I am actually going on her for the first time on the April 30th sailing and can report back on what I thought. I have been on the Allure 2 times and the Symphony and never EVER felt like I do when I have been to Disney, Universal, Bush Gardens, etc being in those lines, going on a cruise is a cake walk!!!! Last, if he doesn't want to go I can act as your son-in-law for a week, I don't mind at all. Hopefully you can show him these post so he can understand that cruising is so much fun. I would also tell him, just go this ONE time and see. We are all going and if you TRULY don't like it then we will understand, but just go with an open mind about it. I think once he sees how amazing the Caribbean is he will like it.
