Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. That area in the middle (left of the dock and lunch area) could have a large pool or splash pad like Coco Cay has, but not a waterpark, but they could build that without closing the island. Channel dredging for larger ships, or extending the docks to allow 2 or more ships to dock at the same time would be more likely and force a closure. Ocean Cay even with the big ships seems like it has a lot of currently sparse areas that could support more than one big ship. Although they definitely would need to add another lunch location.
  2. there's a video at the link, shows parts of the pier washed up along the beach and large gaps along the pier itself. It's hard to get a good idea how much though.
  3. Been trying to confirm this too, the eye of Fiona was within 10 miles of here earlier today as a category 3 hurricane, so I could believe it.
  4. NCL just set the bar, September 3rd, so it's likely Royal will do something very similar: For Norwegian Cruise Lines effective September 3, 2022 include: Vaccinated guests aged 12 and older will no longer have any pre-cruise COVID-19 related protocols Unvaccinated guests, aged 12 and older, or those who cannot or decline to provide proof of vaccination, will need to present a negative medically administered PCR or Antigen COVID-19 test taken no more than 72 hours prior to boarding Guests aged 11 and under will not be subject to vaccination requirements or testing protocols of any kind Vaccinated guests must meet the generally-accepted definition of “fully vaccinated” based on the destination they are embarking and/or traveling to and must provide proof of vaccination
  5. Grand Cayman dropped the requirement a few days ago. And the Bahamas doesn't. Carnival just updated the rules to match (as in only minutes ago)
  6. Internet is mixed, it works well sometimes, others not, and very susceptible to rainy weather. As long as you aren't trying to remote or do any heavy activity online remotely it's doable. Starlink will help this quite a bit, but its still a bit away from being implemented across the board.
  7. FWIW Carnival just sent out emails a few minutes ago stating the the testing for Bahamas cruises 5 nights or less are no longer required. (After saying earlier they were) to match what Royal and the others are doing.
  8. Carnival just dropped the testing requirement for vaccinated cruises going to the Bahamas (5 nights or less) again a few minutes ago to match the other cruise lines. Off/On then back off again. I.e. no test needed now for those. Bermuda does still though, altough with the travel Authorisation. Dear Carnival Guest, We are pleased to share that our COVID protocols continue to evolve. We remain, as always, committed to the health and safety of our guests, crew and the communities we serve. Effective August 8, 2022, guests should be guided by the following COVID-19 testing requirements related to cruises visiting The Bahamas. This applies specifically to itineraries 5 days or shorter only: Vaccinated guests do not have to present a COVID test result at embarkation. All unvaccinated guests must present the negative results of a pre-embarkation test – either a supervised PCR or an antigen test taken up to three (3) days prior to embarkation. For complete information on vaccination and testing requirements and other protocols, please visit our Have Fun. Be Safe. page here. We apologize for the late notice but trust you will find this to be good news. We look forward to welcoming you on board for a FUN and memorable Carnival cruise. Sincerely, Christine Duffy President, Carnival Cruise Line And the website https://www.carnival.com/Legal/covid-19-legal-notices/covid-19-guest-protocols?icid=advisory_cruisehealth_040122 -- Except for sailings visiting Bermuda (see below), there will be no pre-cruise testing for fully vaccinated guests booked on cruises with itineraries 5 days or less. Due to destination requirements, ALL guests on itineraries that include Bermuda must complete a pre-cruise test, irrespective of the length of the cruise. To comply with destination regulations, guests may take either a PCR or an antigen test within the timelines specified below: A PCR test within 72 hours prior to sailing (for example, if the sailing is on Saturday, the test may be taken any time from Wednesday). An antigen test no earlier than two days prior to sailing (for example, if the sailing is on Saturday, the test may be taken any time from Thursday).
  9. The new protocols that RCL just released within the last hour or two start Monday for Royal to not switch it so close to most of the sailings. Either way only Bermuda and Canada require testing for vaccinated folks now. The Bahamas do not (For Royal). Carnival alone is the only one still requiring testing.
