No, we decided against it, it looked like it would be too long a taxi ride given the amount of time in port.

Also wondering about Acapulco Beach, it's only about 1.6mi east of the cruise port, small but looks nice. There are some rocks and jettys in the Google Maps photos, I'm wondering if it makes any sense to bring a mask and snorkel there. Anybody know? Thanks again! --Jon

Hi, folks. We'll be in Puerto Plata in early December (Celebrity Constellation), hoping to find some decent snorkeling nearby that we can access off the beach. From what I've seen online, the best option is probably Playa Sosua, but that's a one-hour taxi ride, and it's going to be a bit tight with only 7hrs in port, cat-herding, etc. Does anyone know of anything closer to town/port? Again, I'm not expecting world-class snorkeling, the inlaws and friends will probably be happy with anything other than sand and garbage. Thanks for the help! --Jon

Following as well. We'll be there in December (Celebrity Constellation, Dec 2 sailing), were thinking about going to Playa Sosua. Google Maps says that it's about a 1 hr drive, though, and we're in port for 7hrs, might be a bit rushed, when you have to get off the ship, get on the ship, find a taxi, etc.

Good afternoon, folks, I'm hoping that someone can help with this. We're booked on the Celebrity Constellation, Dec 2, 2022 sailing, and are looking at a catamaran excursion, "See Antigua by Sea." We haven't been on a cruise in about 5 years, wife has had worsening arthritis since then and has a hard time with long walks. We're wondering if anyone knows about how far the walk would be from the gangway to the catamaran, or whether there might be any sort of assistance (wheelchair, golf cart, etc) in St John. I'm finding that it's almost impossible to get any answers from Celebrity. Thanks in advance!
