1. I'm getting ready to mail my certificates in but am confused about where to mail them I didn't realize there was another option other than the one on the back of the certificates???

You have 2 choices and from what I've read, they both work so either way you'll be fine. The address on the back of the certificates goes to a PO box and the address I used goes directly to accounting (which is where they would take it after they pick it up from th PO box). I used the following address and sent it certified mail, return receipt requested. Cost was $5 and some change. I sent it on a Friday and it was received and signed for 3 days later on Monday.

Attn: Accounting

Norwegian Cruise Lines

7665 Corporate Center Drive

Miami, FL 33126

2. Here is my recent experience with sending in certificates:

I had payed a $1000 deposit on a $2800 cruise for my family of 4 for a minisuite. My outstanding balance was $1800 and due in July. 2 weeks ago, I mailed in 5-$500 certificates and 3-$100 upgrade certificates. I used the corporate address, not PO box. I also sent a letter asking for $700 to be credited back to the same credit card that I had used for the $1000 deposit. (I sent in $2500 in certificates but only owed $1800.) I also asked for ANY monetary value or OBC for the 3-$100 upgrade certificates. I cannot use them for a minisuite and will not cruise again before they expire so it was worth a try. The 3 $100 certificates were promptly returned to me with a letter saying I would have to use them on another cruise since they were not valid on mini suites. Oh well. I tried.

I had my TA call today to check on my balance. She found out that my cruise is indeed paid in full and there was a $700 overage. My TA requested that it be refunded to my credit card. My TA was told by NCl that they would not have credited it back to me if they were not requested to do so. I guess that means they just threw my letter in the trash. Maybe the TA has to make the request? You never know with NCL. Anyway, my TA said it is being refunded to me and I should see the credit in a few days.

As long as that credit does show up, I will be a happy camper!:)

3. Thank you all for your suggestions! I mailed them in, certified mail with delivery confirmation. Fingers crossed all goes well!

I just mailed mine is as well! Keeping my fingers crossed here too! I'll report back how it works out.

4. According to this fine print, your do not get the bonus points until after the cruise is complete.

Offer limited to 10,000 points maximum per booking, one booking allowed per cardholder per cruise. Book window for offer is 5/1/09 - 5/31/09. Earned points will be added to a guest account after completion of the cruise. Offer based on dollar amount applied to the reservation within the booking window of the promotion. Cancellation may result in forfeiture of WorldPoints special offer. Offer is for new individual bookings only. Points cannot be redeemed for cash and are non-transferable. Standard payment option applies. Guests who cancel and rebook must accept this promotion's Terms and Conditions. Cancellation Fees for cruise, air, land and other charges will follow NCL schedule listed in the brochure and website. Cancellation Fees also apply based on the booking/sailing date; therefore, NCL strongly recommends the purchase of Travel Protection on all bookings

5. Grrrrrr. Highly annoying. Seems like they keep changing the "rules" as they go along. I have never heard the one about compass rewards not being applied until 30 to 60 days before you cruise. So if the compass rewards haven't been applied yet, why does your account show a credit of $2500?

Keep paving the way for me Hoosier!

I guess the one good thing for me is that my TA is a neighbor of mine so if they insist on talking to the TA, I can just hand her the phone and tell her what to say.

6. Keep us posted as to the outcome. I will be in the same situation soon. Cruise cost:$2600, paid $1000 deposit for 4 people, going to send in $2500 in certificates. Saving the certificates and booking another cruise is not an option for us.

7. Has anyone sent in enough certificates to receive their cruise cost and deposit back since the program has ended? My cruise cost is $2500. I have payed a deposit of $1000. I owe $1500. I have $2500 in certificates. I know in the good old days if I sent in my $2500 in certificates now, my cruise would be payed for and I would receive a $1000 credit on my credit card refunding my deposit. (Even though the fine print says you cannot use them for deposits...they still let you.) Since the change, I'm worried that if I send in $2500 in certificates my cruise will be payed for but I won't get my $1000 refund and $1000 in certificates will be lost.

Thanks!
Susan
8. I just got yet another mailing from the new Worldpoints card wanting me to apply for one. I thought our old card automatically converted to the new card but now I'm beginning to wonder. Anyone know for sure? Has anyone received the new cards without applying for them?
