Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I think that Olive Grove is only pre-bookable on Arvia.
  2. From my quick look this morning, you’re right about some cruises having few days in port. Seems to be mainly Iona and Arvia which is a shame.
  3. Two of my daughters took the chocolate class back in 2016 and worked as a pair. They made truffles and some other chocolate concoction and they said it was great fun. We were eating them for days afterwards!
  4. We never take a photo beforehand. It’s not mandatory.
  5. I get regular emails from FO. We would love to go from Liverpool but the prices are eye-watering!
  6. Thanks Sue, really enjoyed your review and the great photos. We walked about 7 miles in Rotterdam last year too!
  7. Your second week would have been school holidays in Wales. Easter weekend is always the middle weekend of the fortnight break here.
  8. Sorry to hear that. I know from experience that Iona can be choc-a-block during school holidays so that probably meant that your cruise too was crowded. However it didn’t put me off as I quite liked Iona and our next cruise is on her, but during term time!
  9. I agree, very reckless and irresponsible. What does the law say in Norway?
  10. Does Seaside Hotel have subtitles? I don’t like subtitles but it sounds good! edit - just read your answer to this question!
  11. I’ve never owned a tablecloth and never will!
  12. Exactly! I think tablecloths are very old fashioned.
  13. You witnessed a wedding there and we witnessed mourners leaving a funeral!
  14. Kirkwall - we took a trip (on CMV’s Marco Polo) called Leisurely Orkney and Italian Chapel. The Chapel is a charming place. We travelled across the Churchill Barriers which link the islands, and also had a lovely stroll around St Margaret’s Hope. Also saw Scapa Flow. After the excursion, we had plenty of time in Kirkwall itself and visited St Magnus Cathedral. On the same cruise, we visited Cobh and just walked to the pretty town. St Colman’s Cathedral is well worth a visit - look out for the swastika patterns on the floor tiles! Of course they pre-date the 20th century version. We actually enjoyed the Titanic Museum in Cobh more than Titanic Belfast, again on the same trip. A more intimate experience, especially as is it housed in the original office, and it would have been the last time the Titanic saw land. Cobh -
  15. The hairdryers are fine for me as I have a short pixie cut, but probably not so good for long, thick hair. I don’t think I’ve ever had a hairdryer in the bathroom on a cruise,
