So, is the cabana price in the excursion per person or per cabana and up to 6 people can use it?
-
If I purchase the internet package through the ship, is it unlimited? Also, can imessage on the iphone be used to send texts without using data in airplane mode?
-
Are flat irons allowed? I keep reading about issues taking things that get hot.
-
Do the cabins have hair dryers?
-
I will not be offended in the least to see someone wearing shorts on a Caribbean vacation. I want to be relaxed and comfortable 24/7 which would not include pageant wear. It would be nice however if you smell good:)
-
I will need to check email and communicate with my children (imessage). I'm sure the kids will want to listen to their music, snapchat, post pics, etc. no intention of making phone calls or actual texting. I have Verizon as a provider.
-
so no international data charges?
-
would I still be required to purchase an international plan with my phone provider?
-
When purchasing the internet pkgs, the price listed says per adult. If you purchase for 3 devices, would the price allow any 3 devices to be used at the same time or does that price have to be paid per person as it implies?
-
The prohibited items list applies equally to carry-on and checked bags. In other words, it's not like an airline where you cannot have excessive liquids in the carry-on.
thank you...that is what I was wondering
-
Is there a restriction to what can be in the carry-on at the port?

Hello there.
Entertainment is available to pre-reserve though our Cruise Planner 90 to 60 days prior to the sailing. Reserving shows pre-cruise is only available for Oasis class and Quantum class ships.
Note: Entertainment Reservations for the Quantum of the Seas Asia sailings for can only be made onboard.
We hope this info helps!
Yes, thank you. I did not realize.
-
At what point prior to departure should the ability to book/reserve entertainment become available?
-
Thank you all for your responses. This helps a lot!

Do the ports of call accept USD? Haiti, Jamaica, Grand Caymen, Cozumel

We will be sailing on Freedom of the Seas in July. Young adults 23, 18, 17 will be traveling as well. I have read the dress code for the evening in the main dining room but was wondering if the kids had to wear dress pants or are jeans acceptable? I am afraid dress up will equal few family dinners.

You are not very likely to encounter high seas in the Caribbean, but if you go on a boat excursion or take a ferry, seasickness could ensue. So I would bring some Bonine (available over the counter) just in case someone gets seasick.
Haiti -this is RCCL's private island, Labadee. They will have various beach day type activities. For the adults, it is very nice to rent an over the water cabana. The kids can use this as "home base" and the adults can relax and hang out.
Jamaica - tubing on the White River is a great excursion here for all ages. It is mostly gentle, with a few natural chutes to make it a little exciting. The water is clean and clear. it's similar to tubing on the Guadalupe River in Texas, if you have ever done that minus the snakes.
Grand Cayman - Stingray City (this is tender port usually, so this would be a good day to take Bonine with breakfast.)
Cozumel - we love making this a beach day. I would suggest you all go to Playa Mia as there is plenty to do there for all ages.
Alternatively you might enjoy Mr. Sanchos:
I would avoid any Cozumel excursions that require transit by ferry. It is a rough choppy seasick ride and hacks 40+ minutes off your excursion at each end before you even get to you land transportation for the excursion. But if you decide to do an excursion by ferry, make sure everyone takes Bonine that morning to prevent seasickness (if you are not using other anti-seasickness medicine) as the ferry ride typically includes lots of seasick passengers.
Thank you for the wonderful links...this was the first i had heard of Mr. Sanchos. Have you visited both venues?

Haiti, Jamaica , Grand Caymen, Cozumel.....we are open for most activities but will need some non physical things for Granny...😳

We will be cruising on the FOS in July. This is our first family cruise....6 of us ages 17, 18, 23, 43, 49, 69. What are some items that are "must haves" for our trip. We will be doing the Western Caribbean itinerary. Also, if you have travelled to these ports, are there excursions that we wouldn't want to miss or some better left off our agenda?
-
Do the non-alcoholic packages ever get discounted?
-
Thanks for all of the input...sounds like they will just find their own things rather than organized though the 17+ will be confined to his cabin at 1:00. FTR, I wasn't implying that the 18 and 23 be allowed into the kids club but rather was hoping that the kid 17+ could travel with 18.
-
I know the 18 and 23 are adults but the 18 and the 17 year old are only separated by 3 weeks in age. According to what I have seen, they can't even hang out in the same locations.....hanging with 15 year olds without his friends isn't real exciting at the moment .

We will be traveling with our children....23, 18, 17. I noticed that most of the activities are age grouped. Will our children not be able to enjoy the same activities?
Ammenities in the cabins/staterooms?
