  1. thanks, have tried. I click on Manage My Booking and get an error message and to try again. Tried a different browser too and same results. Not sure why it is so challenging to find out the perks that I have. Thanks for helping!
  2. Hello Trying to see list of add ons using the app. Keep getting an error message and to try again. Cruise is 168 days out. Can't find how to see add ons on booking. TIA
  3. @tammyjw305 Your blog was really good. Nice photos too. Thanks for sharing.
  4. Hello! Have booked a VV cruise and would like to submit a request for match. I have platinum status on NCL. I did read you upload an image to prove status. Is it just enough to submit a screen shot of my name and status or should I screen shot the list of all cruises taken with NCL? TIA
  5. @YVRteacher I follow a FB page about Iceland. People have reported (and photographed, at 2am) the Northern Lights! Maybe you will be able to see them if conditions are right.
  6. "They even cut the crusts off!" Now that is service! You would think someone on the Star could figure out a simple grilled cheese. You photos are stunning! Thank you for taking the time to share them.
  7. I would sail the Star again if it had a desirable itinerary. Just because one person is not having the best experience with vegetarian food options on the ship, it would not stop me from booking. If you read her review, she wants custom meals and the Star is not able to fulfill all of her requests to her satisfaction. The MDR menus are fleetwide and have plenty of options for vegetarians. I would love to sail the Panama Canal!
  8. I cruised on the Star (Iceland/Greenland) July of this year. There were some minor food/service issues but I didn't really let it bother me. The itinerary was too good to pass up and other cruises that sail in that part of the world can be very pricey! There is always at least 2 vegetarian options in the MDRs every day, both lunch and dinner. I primarily eat vegetarian and could always find something that I enjoyed. Also ate at La Cucina, Le Bistro and Teppanyaki, all had good options for me. The salad bar in the Garden Cafe was good and had lots of variety. The veg Indian dishes at the cafe were also good. The Indian food on the Epic was not very good at all! (April 2023) I think if you want vegetarian meals that are not on the menus it would be challenge.
  9. From the Bermuda website "Effective November 14, 2022, Covid-19 testing and travel authorisation forms are not required to enter Bermuda. All air arrival visitors will need to fill out the arrival card. Cruise visitors are not required to complete any entry form. " arriving by air, yes cruise passengers no
  10. @YVRteacher have you considered getting the Thermal Spa pass for the 2nd part of your journey? My sister and I were on the Star early July of this year. We went everyday, not super fancy but we thought it was an excellent place to relax and stay warm.
  11. @Trixie21 My sister and I just sailed on the Star, 10 day Iceland/Greenland cruise, R/T from Reykjavik. (Djupivogur, Akureyri, Isafjordur, Nanoralik, Paamuit and Nuuk) Four of the six ports were tender ports. We were able to visit all ports except for Djupivogur because it was really really windy. Tendering would not have been safe. As mentioned in the post by @DMP609, Prima doesn't have tenders so that is why they are skipping Isafjordur until dock is completed. The Star is smaller and if it is chilly/windy, indoor spaces can be crowded. We had a balcony and bought the Thermal Spa pass so we always had some place warm to relax. Some very brave souls did use the hot tubs and the pool! We were able to find quiet places to read. We didn't see any shows but there was something new every night. It is a beautiful part of the world!
  12. According to Cruise Mapper (still waiting to hear from someone on board) NCL Star was anchored off Isafjordur today.
  13. I have booked a kayak tour with Artic Fun for July 2023. The starting point is near the Eggs. https://www.arcticfun.is/
  14. I took this excursion April 2023, sailing NCL Epic. Using the shore excursion credit and latitudes discount it was a good deal for one person. First stop was Turtle Cove, did see 2 turtles and some fish. Crew member was in the water pointing out things. Lots of other boats were there too. Second stop was a sunken ship, again crew member explained history of ship (very interesting), saw some fish, string ray, scuba divers were blowing bubbles. Again, lots of people in the same area. I have my own mask and snorkel but did borrow some fins and a snorkel vest. Equipment was in good shape. After snorkeling, rum punch was free flowing and some salty snacks to nibble on were provided. Water and soft drinks were available too. Played some good tunes and one of the crew dressed up as shark and danced around. The captain did put up one sail for a bit as we were heading back to port but still had the motor running. Nice crew but they (and the captain) mentioned many many many times, how much to tip and how expensive to live there etc. They even had a whiteboard with their names, asking for reviews and in case you didn't hear the first six or seven times, what your tip should be per person. You could even tip via Venmo. I found it to be annoying. I was on a NCL snorkel trip in St. Martin the previous day and the captain mentioned crew appreciation (only once) as we almost back to port. Liked the excursion, didn't care for the tipping talk.
  15. I wonder if the folks who are booking as part of the Fetetopia know that this sailing is open to anyone and not exclusively chartered? If I were booking this cruise to participate in the Fetetopia I might be surprised that the cruise was not chartered. From the description of the events on their website, you might think your Fetetopia group had access to all the parts of the ship without sharing. Just my two cents.
  16. thanks for your review. Agree, things are changing and not always for the better. 😐
  17. Jmill2826 Husband and I booked a Silver Cove cabana February of 2022. (Getaway) I asked at the excursion desk about a specific tender time but was told to wait for when tenders were announced. Ended up on the tender after waiting in line with anyone who had any type of excursion 😐 When we got to our cabana it was obvious there was an earlier tender. We still enjoyed our time but it would have been nice to be there a little earlier.
  18. Thanks for your post! The Breakaway was our first NCL ship. Jealous of your November 2023 cruise!
  19. #dpepper64 once on Great Stirrup Cay, head to where the clamshells are located, an attendant will confirm your ticket and you select your clamshell, the attendant will set it up for you. I would recommend selecting one with the mesh panel in back to provide some ventilation.
  20. I was able to book a thermal spa pass on the Epic 110 days out from sailing. Keep checking!
  21. in the Garden Cafe, you can request a veggie burger. A selection of vegetarian Indian options (yummy) are available everyday too as well as other veg options. Pre-pandemic Breakaway did a special Indian lunch buffet, not sure if it will be offered again
