  1. .I hope your DH gets well enough for future travels with you. I'm sure someone in the cruise will post.
  2. Thanks for providing photos of my homeland (mi patria, PR). Unfortunately, my last Regent Caribbean cruise did not stop there... so I will be booking another. As others have said, your posts are very enjoyable, and we all wish to coincide in a cruise with you and The Boss.
  3. We were booked by Regent at The Intercontinental last December. The hotel and breakfast were quite acceptable. What was not, was the coordination for the transfer to the pier. The Regent desk at the hotel will assign a bus #, but, no matter your number, all passengers will congregate willy nilly when bus # arrives. The bus driver will not check your number, so those that push harder will go in first. This was our experience. I would recommend you get a taxi to the pier, which is not at all far from the hotel.
  4. We had no problem with the Intercontinental...Bayshore Market with good restaurants nearby... however we would not have liked a Coral Gables hotel (mostly residential area). What I found unacceptable was the transport to the pier organization at the Intercontinental. Next time a taxi will do.
  5. Greetings bitob! The Intercontinental was used for our Dec 14-21 cruise.
  6. We do make good use of the butler's services, and most have been very efficient and professional. Our best butler serviced us in another line (Crystal pre-covid), but Regent's butler have been more than acceptable and we have duly appreciated their worth in our reviews. Thank you, Regent!
  7. Just as an anecdote, as GMAIC would say, I was in 949 and could not hear a thing.
  8. SORRY I AM USING CAPS; WRITING WITH MY LEFT HAND, RIGHT HAND ON A CAST. I AGREE THE SURVEY WAS NOT EFFECTIVELY WRITTEN. I WOULD HAVE PREFERRED TO LET THEM KNOW WHAT I WOULD SACRIFICE AND STILL CRUISE ON REGENT. RESULTS WOULD BE VERY TRANSPARENT AND PRODUCTIVE.
  9. BROKE MY RIGHT HAND, EASIER TO WRITE IN CAPS, SORRY. I FEEL FOR YOU; BUS TRANSFERS HAVE BEEN LESS HAN ACCEPTABLE. WORST MEMORY WAS RECENT 12/14-21 GRANDEUR CRUISE TRANSPORT FROM MIAMI INTERCONTINENTAL TO SHIP. WE WERE ASSIGNED BUS NO. 1 AT 11AM AND ALL OTHERS SHOWED UP AND PUSHED THEIR WAY THROUGH , WHILE NOBODY CHECKED THEIR ASSIGNMENTS. MANY IN MY GROUP WERE TRAMPLED. BETTER TAKE A TAXI!!!
  10. Our PH suite also had one lounger and two regular chairs. Bad weather made them useless to us... but they were there. Hope you enjoy them.
  11. Agree! In Grandeur lunch at the Grill was seamless. Once seated a bar server would take our drinks order; then sweet Assapara would take our food order, and another crew member would deliver. No problem ordering and receiving the food in La Veranda...and I was always located when I forgot the table number.
  12. I recently cruised the Grandeur Dec 14-21 Mayan Caribbean mostly sold out cruise. DH and I are early bird diners, and when approaching Compass Rose for its 6:30pm opening, we were either second or third in line. You will be aware that you need reservations for the specialty restaurants.
  13. Happy Holidays bitob. Yes, beautiful ship and lovely decor and art. In our opinion, all food very good and some excellent. Unfortunately, the weather disappointed the main reason for this Mayan Caribbean cruise, but we enjoyed it overall. Hope you continue to enjoy your cruises.
  14. Hello from Dinosaur Land! I also was in the 7 day cruise and will comment that some servers are new, especially found at breakfast in La Veranda, and some have trouble with English, but they are all very kind and wanting to please. We received outstanding service from our butler Vishnu, Claudia (Peru), Rodzica (Serbia) and Assapara (Thailand). I am sure that by the time you sail they will all be up to par.
  15. If it is of use, we were in 949 in this trip. We did not have any noise issue.
  16. That was my experience. Minor glitches corrected immediately. Our disappointment has been the weather…wish I could speak to Nature’s boss to correct it. Room for improvement in my opinion: live music during daytime in lounges/pool grill, and a few crew members need language training. I personally liked the performers but not so much the productions. Overall a very enjoyable cruise.
  17. We have also suffered rude guests trampling over me, I hopefully do not look like a rug. This was while getting out of an elevator. Otherwise we are enjoying the cruise.
  18. I am in deck 9 and have not heard our neighbors at all. We had the deck party today and it was the nicest! Lovely neighbors and happy vibe. Finally got in the pool this afternoon… yay!!
  19. Today I want to eat my words…DH insisted on the production show and I thought it was so very good!!
  20. Yesterday was quite a rock and roll day. Although the ship’s movements didn’t affect me, they certainly affected my DH; he was unable to enjoy the lovely filet at the wonderful Prime 7 restaurant. Last night’s show highlighted a few music icons. The dancers were very good but I found the production repetitive and not as engaging as I had expected. The audience reaction was a bit lukewarm, I thought. Tonight we will probably do the lounges.
  21. Also on board in our only second Regent cruise. Chaos at the Intercontinental Hotel at our transit time of 11am. The transport contractors did not organize the crowd and we saw and experienced pushing. I would recommend Regent monitor its contractors, or guests avail themselves of private transportation. We are very happy with our PH suite and our butler Vishnu. The food has been delicious!! Service has been very good, just as expected. The weather continues awful but we are hoping for a positive change. We are pool people!
  22. We just arrived at the Intercontinental Hotel in Miami, a day earlier than the pre-cruise day paid by Regent. I am happy with the hotel and it’s location; there is a nice board walk leading to picturesque mall with a very good Cuban restaurant and many varied out of the usual mall shops. All staff are very friendly and helpful.
  23. Hello Cooler Friends!! I follow this thread most mornings and always enjoy it. I have noticed that Chas has not been active lately. He may be cruising...but he would always post his comments. Hope all is fine. Merry Xmas to all. 🌲
  24. Years ago we had friends meet us for lunch. You needed to request paperwork to ensure ID of guests. Guests needed to bring passports (this was in Europe) to verify identity. There was a charge for lunch. Fun memory: Inadvertently, we sat for drinks at the space that would be used for trivia at the time...a rude participant screamed we were taking his team's place. We immediately began to exit, when we heard other participants loudly inviting us to stay and play with them. A lot more kind people than not.
  25. Thank you so much Port Power for sharing your lovely photos of our El Yunque with us!!
