  1. Not if the price was adjusted accordingly. Some cruises do not appreciating paying for a House Select and Shore excursions that they do not value.
  2. Has anyone ever needed to cancel a cruise (and rebook) to receive a price reduction on Oceania prior to final payment? Thanks
  3. I do not disagree. I do find it hard to believe that anyone would ever pay $39.95 pppd for the House Select package. It includes just beer and wine for such a limited amount of time. The change would be good for people that have little interest in drinking very little alcohol of any kind and do not wish to purchase ship shore excursions. I wonder if Oceania will allow people to change their booking and remove the Simple More without cancelling and booking it has a new booking.
  4. My memory is foggy and we both upgraded. It really depends on when you drink more than how much. (Basic package included beer and wine at lunch and dinner). I am guessing, but I think your TA is correct.
  5. I am not a fan of the Simple more excursion change. 1. I find it ignoring that one has to call Oceania to cancel an excursion. (When you want to make a change). 2. The process seems to be leading people to book excursions that they might not want- “just in case”. 3. My cruise is at the end of March (7:months away) and a lot of excursions are no longer available. i hope they add more excursions options/spots later or when on board.
  6. That is a shame since you enjoyed the experience. The pre cruise Conceirge (who contacts you in advance) is directed towards those staying in the higher level suites. Royal Suites and above. To me this is because that category requires certain advanced selections. For instance, the brand of bottled liquor, Speciality dining restaurants (without a charge), etc. As you discovered the butler will be able to take care of your regular item needs after you board. This distinction often confuses those booked in a suite or any other category. Best of luck on you next choice.
  7. What category of suite have you booked?
  8. Thanks. Is the capability to select FC/BC availalbe only on a “dummy booking”? I can find air on a new booking (looks like economy only) but not my current booking. Our cruise departs on March 27. (266 days away). Although it is within 270 days, maybe the 270 is not an exact number. Thanks
  9. It would depend on the date of the cruise. I personally like to start and finish my Caribbean cruises where it is warm. We found the Florida to NJ leg more than a little cooler.
  10. Terrydtx, did you need to make a phone call to get a quote for BC air? For our March 2025 cruise, the SM price increased by $300 a person.
  11. You can spend it before it is reflected in your account after being on board.
  12. Same on our Summit repositioning cruise from Iceland to Boston
  13. We won a bid for Edge Villa on the Edge when cruising restarted. Many great features as you mentioned. The second full bath/shower and massive closets were awesome. The only negative for us is that there was little shade on the balcony. Most of the time there was no shade.
  14. Thank you. For some reason, I was expecting a more significant change. It is custom air after deposit payment only or full final payment?
  15. Thanks for the information. Can I get a quote on line for custom air or do I need to call?
  16. Does Oceania offer Caffeine Free Diet Coke currently. There was limited availability about two years ago.
  17. I would think if you request an assignment, you still might need to pay the prevailing rate. It might depend on how they are running the railroad.
  18. Are you sure that you did not book a cruise with AI? I suspect that may be what is indicated on your invoice. It would be unusual to see a Cruise only booking with a separate addition of a Drink package and Wi-if as individual items. (And an expensive way to book a cruise). It sure seems like a simple fix.
  19. I agree more with you concerning the website comparison. I also appreciate that the Celebrity website allows you to book air and constantly check air pricing on line. (Although I hate that you have to call to cancel or make a change to the air). I never had an issue with shore excursions on the Celebrity website. It is a good thing that the cruise lines website has absolutely no influence on my choice of a cruise.
  20. I am not sure if that is true, but it was not want I said (or at least meant to say). I meant to say that if the “best parts” of each brand loyalty programs were combined into a single common plan across the three brands, the result would be less profit or increased prices to offset the increased costs.
  21. Celebrity did have a voucher system for certain cruises when they were large numbers of Elites when drinks were only served first in Michael’s club and then the Sky Lounge. This was eliminated when Celebrity enhanced the program to include unlimited drinks from 5-7 PM from the same menu. The irony is that the high number of Elites was driven by the Royal reciprocal program and the liberal Celebrity points system. The small gatherings in the Michael’s club were my favorite. The current enhancement is about a selective reciprocal program across the three lines and not a common program for all three lines. IMO that would be a major mistake. As expected certain people wish to take the best of each brand’s loyalty programs, create a single program (best of the best), and then apply it across all three brands. Or perhaps just the items that fit their preferences. The end result would be either less profit for each brand or increased cruise pricing for everyone across all brands. IMO that would be total management incompetence.
  22. Some bars do not carry the any of the items on the HH drink list, so the coupons would be the same.
  23. What category of suite have you booked?
