  1. The spa on Luminosa has a huge spa pool. It is quite spacious. I did take the upgrade for two weeks in Oz.
  2. They are on the Sea Day Brunch menu of Panorama and Miracle. Six for $6 and a dozen for $9. The first batch I had were awful on Panorama. Over cooked, heavy as lead, and enough sugar to ice a cake. I had a pow-wow with the chef and suggested the Disney recipe. I ask for golden brown, served straight from the oil, with powered sugar on the side. They were delicious beyond words.
  3. While prices continue to creep up in response to the bad policies of the government that are understandable, recently I have been seeing mandatory service charge being added to paid food and beverages ordered on board at a fat 18%. Can we remove that? Was I misinformed that the rather generous gratuities added to my bill at the end of the cruise compensated tipped positions?
  4. I am planning to test the security response. During March Madness I am going into the sports bar and ask that the TV be put on "The View." Seriously though, I have often seen people put off the ship. I have sympathy for innocent family members, but would be delighted to see the perpatrators taken off in shackles. I have seen the pooch's working the line outside the terminal. They are not all drug sniffing dogs. Some are for bombs, and lastly bed bug sniffers. Who knew dogs were "specialists?"
  5. It is sad that trouble has risen to the point that the president of the line has to mention it. Cruising is a fun activity and there is really no reason to bring conflict aboard. Some is alcohol fueled, but some is caused by disrespect. We all suffer from others cutting in line, to outright discrimination, but aboard ship if you just allow a little patience, things will go well.
  6. It includes Milkshakes, Gatoraide, specialty coffees, energy drinks (monsters) and any spirits upto $20. Over $20 you get a 25% discount and pay for the rest. In California while in port to 12 miles they collect 10.25% sales tax from you. The casino pays yor tip on DOU and Drinks everywhere, but don't let that stop you from adding a little extra.
  7. I think you should stop asking the casino department. They all work in the Land of No. Have your PVP enter the code from your offer on the folio, and the casino will get a list of people sailing on the offer.
  8. How can you tell where the lobster was born? Was he carrying a little hockey stick?
  9. A 19 year old will be allowed 15 alcoholic drinks per day, starting on his 21st birthday.
  10. Panorama has a separate dining room tables pushed together. It can hold about 25. They can also push three 4 tops together and seat 14. Talk to them, they will make you happy.
  11. It's not iffy, it's Effy, as in Effy Hematian who is a very good man. He is the designer for most of his goods. I know little about jewelry, but the stuff he sells is nice looking. Yes, the sales people can be intense, but anytime you are selling nickels for a dollar you need a good salesman. I did not miss the art shows on Vista class ships, but now they are back. I was rather annoyed on Panorama this month that they took away one of the aft elevators to move their merch into the punchliner. They also "decorated" the halls on two decks with inkjet art. Some is interesting, but most is along the lines of Elvis on velvet. I don't know what else they could sell hanging on the walls?
  12. I appreciate a gift. The luggage tag is useful and I have enough cosy's to glue six of them together and we use them as butt boards in the sauna. There are so many platinum's now I don't see how Carnival can go back to the type of gift previously given when they return to black ink.
  13. Everyone who thinks Cousteau was a diver, Judy Sheindlin is a judge, Shaq plays basketball, and Emeril is a chef, would be wrong. All of them are TV personalities, and derive most of their income from that.
  14. I would not worry unless the propellors come loose and you return from dinner and there is paddle on your bed and orders to report for duty at 8AM. You should have trip interruption insurance to take care of flights and hotels in the event of cancelation. You credit card may even include it free of charge.
  15. I sailed on the last Miracle to Hawaii. They change the time twice, an hour a day, going and returning, I like the librarian on the elevator doors. She has a stack of books and is very smart, but she has a split personality. If you like good service with your time dining, ask to be seated with Henry's team every day. He remembers what you like, makes good suggestions, and is very quick. The down side is he is not much of a dancer.
  16. The loyalty program rewards those who spend the most TIME on the water. They could improve the things that save me the most time. One is boarding. Set aside an area out of sight from the throng, and check in the guests and allow immediate boarding. Take their luggage ASAP to the cabin. Have the cabin turned and ready. Stock the fridge. Reserved seats at shows. Front of the line at tender ports landside. Offer upgrades for no shows. Now, sometimes you cannot offer such perks as there are too many platinum and diamond pax. Something they tried on Panorama for anytime diners, those who would come at opening each day could have an assigned table. I loved it. I mentioned the plan to dining officers on Mardi Gras, Spirit, and Miracle but they never heard of such an idea.
  17. I have access to an agency system and can see all available cabins. My offers often exclude expensive cabins.
  18. I think by the time it becomes economical, your liver will wave a white flag.
  19. I don't pay a lot for my cruises, but I have a final payment for two suites on Miracle in March due next week. Less than $300 due, but I get Email & texts every other day. I look at it as a courtesy. Easy enough to delete. I did pay for one cruise with future cruise credit, and only 28 cents was due at final payment. I got a lot of messages about that one too. I paid it the day before.
  20. Luminosa is an older ship with all beds next to the balcony windows. Exceptions for Handicap rooms with head of the bed on the opposite wall of the windows. Mardi Gras has interlocking cabins. The head of the bed juts into the cabin next door. These rooms have the bathrooms back to back. If you enlarge the deck plan, notice the doors are not in the center of the cabin. From in the hall look at the wide portion of the wall between the cabins, The cabin on the left will have the bed by the balcony, the cabin on the right will have the bed by the bath. My favorite balcony is 17201. The balcony is more like a patio. Room for two chairs, two loungers and two tables. There is a private elevator around the corner to inside the spa.
  21. Platinum and Diamond guests may drop off their luggage, but keep in mind the door may be wedged open so the stewards can work. I would not leave anything of value in that case. You never know who is walking by. It used to be that Platinum, Diamond, and Faster to the fun rooms were ready when the guests boarded. Then some accountant at headquarters used a sharp pencil to eliminate a large number of hotel operations crew. Stewards were charged with more rooms to service, and it was impossible to offer the "ready when you board perk." I like to be the first to board. I drop my bag and do a quick PM of the room so I can alert guest services of any problems with plumbing, lighting, HVAC, doors and latches, safe, TV, switches and fridge. On Spirit I found a sink drain with enough hair to reupholster a cat. They always take care of those things before the 1:30pm "rope drop"
  22. I look at it this way. I am a guest in their country and their rules are my rules whilst there. Sure it is a bit hard to breathe, so what? I mask up and enjoy myself.
  23. The shampoo is fine to use. It is mostly water and a surfactant, mostly sodium lauryl sulfate. There is some silicone and glycols too. This is based on my sniffer, I have not seen a label. A small amount works fine on clothes. I might suggest a wipe with sanitizer or alcohol of the sink prior to using it as a wash tub is a good idea. You would be amazed what is growing there.
  24. I thought I read the extra plate charge was $ 3.50 for Platinum's.
  25. I look at the bright side. Lost luggage on the way home is a Godsend. You don't need to schlep it through the airport to check in, nor wait for it at baggage claim. Simply head for the exit.
