  1. Different from insurance through a 3rd party? We always get the cruise lines ins but now I'm wondering why people have seperate policies in place. Does the cruiseline insurance not cover what the medical bills would be? I mean if the insurance offered they the cruiselines stinks I'd rather refuse that and get a seperate travel plan through a reputable company? I don't want to be stuck with a 30k helicopter bill for example..I'd just stop cruising if the risks were that great. My hmo certainly won't do spit if I'm on a cruise..
  2. Are you talking about the travel insurance that the cruise line provides or extra insurance over and above from a 3rd party?
  3. Now thats some funny stuff. Im gonna start calling myself a "diamond in the rough".
  4. Food was very good on my cruise..although the delicious beef stock gravy at thre carving station does my stomach in.. I know I'm gonna pay for that with a long night but I just eat it anyway..lol
  5. I was on celebration with you..the chocolate chip cookies were there all week except valentines day..my wife probably had 20..I got them myself.
  6. Good luck picking 10 a.m. to checkin.. Plat diamond and suites will eat that up since they can go 16 days out.. I'd go on at midnight on your 14th day but don't be shocked if you don't get a 10 a m. The nice thing about fftf is you get a special line to pass the other hobos who are standing in the elements.. I'd much rather be onboard at 11 am then screwing around in line.. You can do all kinda of things you can't do if you are in line or sitting in the terminal.
  7. Just don't go for dinner..that place is overrated.
  8. Good luck with roller coaster its been down for 3 weeks...irritated me we couldn't ride.. Amber cove is just a massive pool area. It's awesome..no massages there. The ship is so close to the port id.schedule a port day massage.. You can do both and save money on the port day message
  9. That first issue is crazy..best of luck. I just got off the Celebration on Sunday and I'd probably just keep her in the room for awhile to reset after boarding. Then I'd take her celebration central on deck 6 and plop her in a chair or couch. Or use the forward elevators to take her to serenity on the 18th deck..find the pool with the couches and tables..someone will have to go get the food and bring back.. Issue 2 is tricky with a stubborn person..I'd call special needs group in miami and get a scooter..I think we paid $199 for the week..they deliver directly to the port and u meet someone there personally.. The only issue with that is when you put it in the room to charge at night it's tight...at least you have it there. Carnival has push wheelchairs for free and I foresee someone having to ruin their time for this individual..
  10. The Dream was a fantastic when I went. Loved that ship. No worries.
  11. Awesome information..thanks, I had no idea of those details.
  12. Next december...any idea if these private Islands are any good after dark?
  13. to edit my above post i would definitely do 17293 again but i dont think id book a forward facing cabin.
  14. i just got off the celebration and serenity deck 18 forward was just not useable. Crazy wind...We stayed in 17293 on the side and a few days it was pretty bad. After experiencing that i dont think i would ever think about a room like that.
  15. just a random observation but i think those suckers are way overpriced.
  16. not sure what you are asking but here are the free food options on the celebration cucina chi bang java blue guys big chicken street eats dining room lido marketplace pizza deli pig and anchor same things for mardi gras
  17. No..And be real careful to watch your gate when you fly back. i swear that there is a better than 50 percent chance your gate gets changed after going through tsa. Not exaggerating one bit. be very very careful.
  18. Does the cloud 9 spa have a jetted whirlpool? Every video i see shows thermal suites and therapy rooms etc but i have yet too see a hottub down there. We have paid for a spa suite and just assumed one of was in there like all the other ships we have sailed. It will be frustrating to not have one of those.
  19. Now that I'm home from the Celebration and have a full week in the books, I have a few more things to point out. These are experiences that happened after my original post. We really were impressed by the new Serenity Deck. Carnival designed that area very well. The only time it got seriously noisy was when the seaside theater got going. I thought the food overall was very good. Chibang seemed to be a big bust. We spoke to various people about Chibang and every person was unimpressed. It looks great but we decided to skip it and we have no regrets. The Seafood Shack was an upcharge that was well worth the money. We were impressed. LOVED IT. The comedy was extremely funny but the lines for the comedy shows in the punchliner and limelight were extremely long. I'd say the first person in line waited a full 40 min before entering. But again, the shows were fun. And finally we just saw alot of low rent people. No other way to say it. Just rude, entitled no class individuals who think they are the center of the universe. Disgusting how these people treat the crew and everyone else. And it irritates me that I have to just take it and move on. As a Carnival owned ship I'd give this ship an A. Nothing is perfect because we all have our own tastes but Carnival did about everything right with this one..
  20. Another thing...The thermal suite is entirely too small. It's very nice but not really accomodating.. We wouldn't do a spa suite.
