Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I just checked for our Nov Eclipse Caribbean in a few weeks and £18.76 from UK but will keep an eye out- thanks!
  2. thanks- we go in a few weeks and not cruised since pre Covid so keen to hear how it is. Any views on MDR as we tend to eat there for dinner? Thanks
  3. Thanks but doesn’t help with my question! Will email her but options still my quandary.
  4. Hi We only have one day and looking at a North Island trip and also a South island trip and cannot make my mind up between them. Any recommendations on which is best- we are more history and active people than lying on a beach? Tours are with Beyond the Beach. Thanks The South encompasses Les Trois Ilets, where the famous pottery village is. Re-board the transportation to the second stop, Les Anses d’Arlet, Here you may view the recently renovated steeple of this famous church located directly in front of the beach. Alternatively, you may choose to relax on the fine white sand beach, swim or even snorkel! Once you have soaked up the sun you will be on your way to a viewpoint overlooking Diamond Rock. Then we head to Cap 110, a memorial erected in memory of slavery. After that we will make a stop in a local market to discover local fruits, spices and so much more! Your final stop will be at a local rum distiller -Trois Rivieres Distillery The North is the Neisson Rum distillery located in Le Carbet. TThe next stop will be the Carbet Beach, a wide beach with calm sea, transparent waters and black sand. You can relax while looking at the sea, at the Mount Pelée or maybe refresh yourself by swimming a bit. Then you will discover the ruins of Saint Pierre. Once destroyed by the volcano, You will be then at the foot of the volcano where Saint Pierre, the “Little Paris of the Antilles” is. Then you will continue following the Route de la Trace to delight yourself with Martinique’s nature. The next stop will be the Saut Gendarme Waterfalls. You will have to do a very easy and short hike to arrive at the waterfall, once there you will be charmed not only by the tropical forest but also by the clear waters of the waterfall. After that, the next stop will be the Alma River, and visit an amazing sight of the tropical foliage mixed with this fantastic building, the Sacred Heart Church, also known as Balata Church.
  5. Hi- looking at a tour option (with some of those recommended on the forum) or taking the ferry to Toi Islet. Anyone got any opinions? we are not really lying on the beach people so prefer to wander around nice towns, see some scenery etc. but also quite independent travelers so happy to DIY local transport. From wat i have read there doesn't seem to be much to in port so keen to get out and explore as not an island we have done before. All suggestions welcome (we are there on a Friday in November). thanks Kathleen
  6. hi which tour did you do as also looking at this but also thinking to taking the ferry to for Trois Islet ?
  7. ps an an update i emailed and asked if we could have Baptiste and told no definitive confirmation could be given so think we will look elsewhere.
  8. Hijacking this for any recent reviews as those on TA seem to be more in the negative lately... any thoughts from anyone who has used recently? Thanks
  9. Maybe Herod as we did his tour and went to his house for lunch and catamaran back to boat post a beach stop if that helps...
  10. we can maybe see if we can amend as at the moment booked for Miami pick up and drop off...Thanks
  11. Yes of course- we are on the Sat 11 November Caribbean (and on that rollcall board too). I've cruised a reasonable amount but 10 years since I did the Caribbean with mum so all a distant memory (and now have a husband to bring) so looking forward to it!
  12. Ah fab thanks- we fly in and out of Miami so not much choice where we hire but definitely appreciate the guidance re just all heading to hire car drop off then to port. Hoping our friends who have lived in the US for 20 years but regularly back in the UK can take over at this point! (anyone coming to Scotland/UK let me know and I can return the favour!)
  13. thanks- we are Dollar hire car but those prices cheaper than cruise co shuttle so will go for that to save us time.
  14. Fab thanks- we will only have one suitcase each so should be manageable! What is rough cost of an Uber XL as other option is we book him the Celebrity shuttle?
  15. Hi, We are arriving to stay in Florida for a few days prior to the cruise so will pick up a hire car at Miami airport, drive to Bradenton, stay there fro a few days and then drive back (our hosts coming on cruise too). Plan is my husband drops 3 of us off at the port with luggage then heads to drop off car and gets a transfer/uber back. What is the most cost effective method (it will be November and heading on to the Equinox)? thanks
