I am Platinum and when you call in and book directly through telephone, the discount and credit will both apply. You will see that on your confirmation. No balances get charged to your account until after the excursion.

On the Breakaway this January-snack time (3:30-5) there was a chilled soup in the buffet every day.
I would get a large glass, straw from the bar, and add some soft ice cream. Instant smoothie, yum!

Thanks. I have been on some cruise lines that do not honor obc towards gratuities. Good to know that Celebrity does. I will choose that perk then.
-
I will be going on the Summit next year. If I take the obc perk, can that be applied towards the daily gratuities?
-
Thank you for the response. I will pass it on.

Could you advise if you need to bring a "dabber" of your own to play bingo on the Summit? A friend of mine is going in a few weeks, and she wanted to know if she needs to pack one. Thanks.

So happy for you. May your cruise be uneventful of all negative aspects...and build memories of positive ones!

Yes Seadog, I read a short while ago that there will no longer be fireworks. Enjoying coming along on your cruise with ya!

Had it last week on the Summit. You can ask for it in the main dining room and most nights it was available. If you love ranch dressing, you have got to like this!

Just off cruise yesterday. Everyone healthy that I met. If there was an outbreak, there would have been precautions at the buffet and word of it.

Thank you so much for the review.
I was wondering if there are any theme nights that you can tell us about.

Could you let me know what kind of onboard offers there are for future cruising? My friend will be on RCCL in a few weeks, and she wanted to know what was being offered while on the ship...ie cost, credits with offer, etc.
Thank you.

I have been on both (Gem 3xs/Breakaway 1).
Pros for each:
Gem - outside dining at the Great Outdoors in the back of the Buffet, lots of seating around pools and above, martini bar/champagne lounge set up, large lounge with dance floor called Spinnakers, friendliness of staff, less people, more intimate, larger balconies
Breakaway - better food in the buffet, newer, more venues, entertainment options, outside seating on side of ship for restaurant dining, sports activities,
childrens' activities
See which are more important to you. Either is fine. Have done this itinerary at least 6 times--easy cruise to take.

Oh What a Night is a fantastic tribute to The Four Seasons music. It is not Jersey Boys, but all the songs without the story. Saw it 2 times this past week.
Yes reservations are advised. Don't miss it!

I have cruised 3 times out of NYC in February. Two times it was actually mild (in the 40s) and once cold in the 30s. No snow...and always ate outside at the Sail Away Party Buffet! Don't worry, you'll be heading south and into warmer weather, I assume. Sailing out of NYC is wonderful regardless of the season...a thrill as you go down the Hudson and go under the Verrazano Bridge. I have done that 16 times, and it is still special. You aren't crazy, just lucky!
120 min. ship to shore phone calls?

Just used it on my January cruise. You need to get a pin #. There will be directions waiting for you in your cabin when you arrive. Once you get your pin #, using your cabin phone you dial 082 (there will then be a long pause), followed by a request to put in your pin #. Then final direction will say to dial the # you want to call. Remember to dial "1" for calling in US. The recording will tell you how much time you have left, and then connect you. Reception was great.
