Sydney has the best transport system in OZ, a combination of train ,light rail and ferry's will take you to all parts of the city. HOHO does not cover places like Manly or the Zoo, also Photo Op's on the harbour abound.Sydney is a great DIY city, grab an Opal card and explore. google Sydney Transport .Welcome to OZ
Chilli why not get your mate "BIG GAV" to bring a Freedom class ship to our shores, seeing that white elephant "La Leepa" has disappeared and he should have some spare time,he could also get a new OPT built in the harbour. 😁
They will be in force when entering both Australian and NZ ports you will be notified by the ship not to take any food items of the ship. Trail Mix can be obtained from every supermarket, health food store or just about any where that sells food,so why risk a fine. By the way NZ is a lot stricter than OZ.
As you like nightlife suggest Darling Harbour which is loaded with bars and places to eat, also less expensive than Circular Quay. The Light Rail runs through Darling and down to the Quay. Ferries are available from King Street Wharf. The Holiday Inn is well located in this area, however there are plenty of hotels in the area. Hope this helps,
Down under we love the Quantum class ships, and Anthem would be welcome to join Ovation and Quantum. Have 70 nights up on Ovation, with a booking on Quantum next season. We have a name for the threads author in Australia, "Whinging Pom" 😫
Captain Cook Cruises are an option, however if you have the time Possum52's notions are the best way to enjoy the harbour. Grab an Opal Card and use the ferries like a hop on hop off bus.
You are cruising from Melbourne, it's a no brainer a direct flight to Melbourne by Qantas, Lufthansa or United to name a few;problem solved. You have East to West USA to start your trip don't add any problems to what is a long flight.
They are also stocking Tassie National Pies 2 pack $7/50; unfrozen quite a nice range and taste nice too. Tassie pies are normally 80% roadkill 20% pastry lovely lol 🤣
Looking forward to having a Scallop Pie in Hobart in a fortnights time. This thread needs some new recipes and pie shops ifs been dormant since Christmas😭😁
Staying at the same place early March, will take the train from airport to Central then L1 Light Rail to Paddys Market (2 stops ). Easy Peasy as Uncle Les would say.
The 3 Airlines that fly the domestic route are Virgin, Qantas (domestic) and Jetstar .The most common luggage allowance is 23kg Checked 7kg hand luggage, any extras you have to buy.
