No, you don't. I cruise heavily with both RC and X. While they both offer tier match up to Elite/Diamond, when you're cruising you're only earning points for that line. For example, I'll be in Liberty in June for 10 nights. Those points only count towards my C&A points, not my CC points. Conversely, when I go on The Connie in January, I'll be getting 30 points towards my CC account, not my C&A account.

Hi all! My niece and I are debating on trying this slide, is it scary or fun? I'm a bit concerned as I've heard of people getting hurt, namely at the top where the rollers are. I do have a back issue caused by a previous injury where I strained my back. If we decide to try it, my niece and I are going together. Neither of us have a fear of heights (both have done the Ultimate Abyss many times, I zipline, and I've done a ropes course at the top of a ship).

I did it 7 times, my niece 17 times, and each of my parents did it once. It's now our favorite way to christen Oasis class ships. It's not scary, it's quite fun! There's all sorts of lights going off so you get a light show! They give you a toboggan to ride in, which slows you down. Keep your elbows in and chin down. Hang onto the strap on the toboggan and you'll be fine.

Most of your packing questions can be answered by the time of year you're going, length of the cruise, and ports of call. Let me explain: You could be going on a 7 day cruise to the carribbean, but if you're going in winter, you'll need coats and long pants for the first few and last few days. The further north you are, the colder it will be. However, if you're going on a 7 day cruise in the Fall or Spring, the most you may need would be light jackets. Also, if you're going in the summer, you wouldn't need jackets at all! Likewise, the longer the cruise, the more you'll need to pack. You'll need more clothes for a 7 day cruise than a 3 day one. All that said, if you're going to colder climates, you'll need more long pants and jackets. I see you're going on an Alaskan cruise, so you'll probably need clothing for colder temps

What's your price point? Icon is the newest of those ships and will be the most costly.

Good to know as I will be Diamond after my next cruise, but I'm cruising with others who turned Diamond last cruise.

Not sure how it works with Royal, but on Celebrity (I'm Elite there), there's a free hour of internet available for the entire voyage. You don't have to use it the entire time and they tell you how much time you have left when you end your session.

I was just talking to a friend of mine who cruises Royal a lot and has been on Independence (Liberty's sister ship, Freedom class) and Brilliance (Radiance class). Radiance class is comparable in size to the Vision class. For background, I'm booked on Liberty for June (first time) and have the opportunity to book either Liberty (for a second time) or Brilliance. My friend has been on Brilliance before, and while he liked it, it was smaller than the Freedom class and didn't offer as much to do,

While I sympathize, there's a few things you need to understand, should you decide to cruise again on ANY line: 1.) I think you understand the need for Travel Insurance at this point because of what happened. 2.) If Royal wasn't negligent, they don't have to pay for medical bills. Why would they if they didn't cause the accident in the first place? If they were negligent, then that's a different story. 3.) Think of their medical facilities like Urgent Care at home. They don't provide all the services necessary for healthcare, as they aren't full-service hospitals. This is stated in your Cruise Contract that you signed when you purchased the tickets. Even the staff may not be licensed to give certain types of care. Minor ailments and injuries sure, but surgeries generally can't be treated on a ship. For example, I had a sinus infection prior to a cruise, which only got worse on the ship (yes, I saw my doctor prior to the trip). Marched myself down to the Infirmary and got amoxicillin, the same thing my doctor would have given me. Sure they may be able to do X-rays, but even then, some issues may not show until the swelling went down. If it requires surgery, the most they can do is splint it. 4.) I understand most cruisers may not know to contact the port agent in an emergency, but unless the ship hears from you, they have no clue what your wishes are. If you didn't want them to pack your things, it's up to you to find a way to contact them. They were nice enough to pack your things for you so that you'd have them at the hospital. 5.) Medevacs are usually used for life threatening situations. In my 32 cruises, I've only seen them medevac 2 people for one incident. Plus, they're looking for the fastest way to get you to a hospital, which was likely by ambulance, especially if you were in port.

Got mine, which means I'll turn ELITE on my next cruise! Not a bad way to start off the New Year in 2025!

It's a fun activity! Ducks can be hidden anywhere save for stores and restrooms. If you find one, you have the choice to either keep or re-hide it. If you keep it, sometimes you have to take a selfie with the duck so that the Facebook group can see how far their ducks have traveled.

Same but I'm in no hurry for the update. As long as I get it by my Connie cruise in 2025, I'm good. I'm turning Elite that cruise.

3-4 day cruises are shorter so for me to break even, I'd have to drink more than I would in one day. For cruises of 5+ days, I can spread it out more.

We are traveling with friends soon on the Venezia. I have the booking numbers for both groups, but the reservations are not the same. Can I link the other party to my account and have them check in at the same time as us, even though it's a separate reservation (they're paying for everything on their own)? Or would it be better to have us do the online check-in without linking the reservations? I usually use Royal and know that you can link reservations quite simply on their app for things like dinner or shows. Finally, do we need to fill out all the forms and everything in one sitting? Most of us have passports, but not all of us are in the same household, so we would need to coordinate this part of the check-in a little bit if we have to do everything in one sitting. Our check-in opens this week, so I would at least like to get the arrival time signed up for and would appreciate any help.
