Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. High 5s and hats off to the Mrs.!
  2. And have the chefs in Teppenyaki cook up a big batch on top of their big 'ol griddle!
  3. Agreed. That is quite likely Steelhead. I live in Salmon, Idaho. Have fished for and caught Steelhead, and eaten some salmon that someone else caught. They are often as big as a salmon as well, especially after these fish have made the very long journey from the Pacific ocean up the Columbia, Snake and Salmon rivers to their native spawning grounds between Salmon and Stanley. A nice Steelhead filet can be very close to the same size a Salmon filet. And every bit as tasty. I love my fish! The wait staff on the ships we sail on probably have no idea what the difference is between a rainbow trout or a brook trout or a steelhead trout. It's a trout. 🙂 Thourghly enjoyed this 'live reveiw" !! Thank you!
  4. If you were in the Adventure Class seating they are. Goldstar Dome class seating a meal and a couple of drinks are included. I'm certain your memory is perfect! 🙂
  5. Yes. And you do want to book it through the Alaska Railroad website. The Goldstar class category is what I was referring to. In the Goldstar class, if you take the early morning departure, there is a nice breakfast served that is included in this price, as well as a couple of spirited breakfast beverages, mimosa or bloody mary, etc. if you like this sort of breakfast beverage. It's a great way to make the trip from Anchorage to Seward. Scenary is spectacular.
  6. We did the Jewel SB Seward to Vancouver in July of 2022. The sailaway in the evening from Seward is beautiful. And the inside passage part of the trip is absolutely stunning. My favorite excrusion was the White Pass rail in Skagway. Getting up close to Hubbard glacier is so impressive, I got lucky and got to see the glacier calve. Another good reason to do this trip on the smaller Jewel ship. The Gold Dome train ride from Anchorage to Seward is worth every penny. If you choose to go to Seward the day you sail, if by train, they will transfer your luggage to the ship for you. Super handy. The coast line of Alaska from a cruise ship is beyond impressive. Enjoy!
  7. I sailed on the Encore last winter. I too, always go for the angled balcony cabins. We were also on deck 11, room 11874, one of the angled that looks toward the front of the ship. We have had both the fwd facing cabins as well as the ones angled towards the back. We found both to be great. Sometimes it's nice to have that extra breeze when in the warm Caribbean sea, and didn't feel privacy was as issue. That said, as with many other things, much is based on ones personal preferences. Go have fun!
  8. We were on the Bliss 2 years ago, mid Dec. for a 7 day MR cruise. When we embarked on Dec 12, holiday decorations were not yet in place, by the next morning the ship had been transformed into a wonderful Christmas village! Trees, poinsettias and other decor in all public venues, Polar Express village on deck 6, etc. It was so fun, and beautifully done. Everywhere.
  9. Whatever the changes were that the CC tech people did no doubt impacted all of the Boards, and roll calls.
  10. So I just went to the find your Norwegian Roll Call option, at the top of the Norwegian Boards threads and comments page, scrolled down to the Jade, instead of going to the drop down to access the specific month of your criuse, click on the Norwegian Jade roll calls heading in bold and that option will give you all of the Jade roll calls. The one you need is there. Hopfully the CC powers that be will change this.
  11. I just tried this and it didn't make a difference. At least not for me. Thank you for the suggestion though. From the Norwegian Cruise Line specfic Boards page, if I go to the "find your roll call" option, click on that, then scroll down to the Jade, where it asks for the month, click on that, a drop down will all the months of the year, click on February, then it shows roll calls that have February in the title. There are 4 roll calls listed, one of which is for the cruise I reference, however it's the wrong one. The one that needs to be there has been deleted. Along with many others. If you know the exact title for the missing one you can enter that in the search field and you can see it along with all the others that have been deleted, but if you don't know the exact title......
  12. Zqvol, I don't think they have been merged. The one you have just attached is the real one. The thread title is a bit different than the other one. The thread title of the other one is "NCL Jade Southern Caribbean Feb 25th- March 9, 2024". What I am seeing is when you do a search from the main Boards page for NCL and then click on the Jade, it will bring up current future and past sailing roll calls. When you do your search from the NCL only threads page and go to their roll calls section, scroll down to the Jade and narrow your search to just the month of February, there are now only 4 items found. The roll call that has all the activity and such is no longer there and is not merged with the thread from cottinom1. Thanks for your reply and help.
