Did u notice how much the air hockey was? My kids really like playing
Sent from my iPad using Forums
I heard people say $2.50. We stayed in the ping pong and Xbox sections.

The only difference in the dining venues is the decor.
For us, there was also a difference in service. It could of been just our luck, but Chic had much better service than Icon (and our orders were actually correct). It is a small sample size, but that was our experience.

Was the 30% off Jamie's offered on board or did you book in advance?
BOGO is only offered online. They offered 30% off Jaimie’s and Wonderland on the ship. Chops was basically sold out.

This was my first non-Disney cruise with my sons and parents. It was a great time. If you cannot have fun on this ship, check your pulse. As seadog mentioned, there were several small annoying issues, but just like life, nothing is perfect.
Seaplex: my kids could of lived here. Bumper cars (5 and up), roller skating and trapeze are at scheduled times. Rs and trapeze you need to sign up early for while you wait on line for bc. Go on the first day and towards the end of the time period to find shorter lines for bc. They also have xbox, ping pong and games (foosball, air hockey) that cost money. It was annoying that on the first day the paddles were already in rough shape (and just got worse) and several Xbox screens never worked. They also have adult and teenage only activities (dodgeball, vball, ping pong) at certain times.
Other Entertainment: Rockwall was a lot of fun. There are 3 ropes so the line can move quickly. When we got on the ship, one side was closed (it is only fixed in Florida so it is better to wait until all 3 sides are working). IFly was fun even though the workers seemed to be jerkish. Very strict and no joking around. My kids liked watching a movie and swimming at night (even though the movie selection is pretty horrible. I wonder if Flatliners Is on VHS ha). It was very foggy when we went up on the North Star so it is not fair to judge. Most people thought it was pretty lame. I think it would be better if you are near land.
Food: overall, food was very good.
My kids wanted to go to 270 most mornings which had premade sandwiches, pastries and bagels. Some of the workers really struggled if you tried to order anything than the set options. My kids are still laughing over a woman yelling that she just wanted an English muffin. Ha. 270 also has a great roast beef sandwich for lunch (one guy puts love into making it while the other guy would rather be anyplace else. You will notice).
We were suppose to eat at Icon every night, but they really seemed to be overwhelmed. We ended up eating at Chic most nights. Maybe it was our luck, but the difference in service, food preparation, atmosphere, time to get food, right order was so much better at Chic. We also ate at Jaimie’s, which was a good change of pace (the special was 30% off and kids ate free).
Will cont.

Is the scavenger hunt for kids also or is it more of a grown up thing? I do not want to be that guy. Thank you for the live update.....we are up next.

Search for December 22, 2017 Cruise. That is 8-day, but will include holiday activities. Or there is a recent 9-day in which will be your cruise without the Miami stop. Not sure of the rules for posting websites, but there are certain ones that have a page of cruise compasses. Just do an internet search.

Thanks for the info.

Thank you for your comments. I did not think about renting a car. Good idea. I will call today, but according to the website, the enterprise/national/Alamo office is not open until noon. That seems strange so I will check. Thanks

We wanted to do the Kennedy Space Center on our own. Has anyone done this? There are 5 of us (3a and 2k). Is it better to get a taxi or Uber? Or are there shuttles that will take you? Thanks

The Seaplex is typically open from 8am to 1am with things scheduled most of the time. If there is not something scheduled, there is usually just pick up basketball going on. There are ping pong tables, foosball tables, xbox available too.
As far as pools, the indoor pool was open on our February sailing until around 11pm with a very bored life guard standing there at all times.
Thank you for the response. I know the lifeguard situation impacted the pool hours on the disney ships so it is good to hear the pools are open till 11.

When there is no specified activity scheduled at seaplex, is it just a free-for-all? B-ball, soccer, etc?
I did not notice the pool hours listed in the compass. Does anyone the typical hours for the in/outdoor pools? I know the need for lifeguards has reduced the hours plus it will be February. Thanks

I was thinking the solarium was one large enclosed area. I can now see it is two areas, one for adults and one for everyone. That is good to hear that you were able to use the outdoor pools.
-
Thank you. I did not realize there was an indoor pool for everyone. Perfect.

When anthem is sailing out of nj in the winter months (February), is the solarium open for kids? It seems that there will be at least two days where outside pool activity will be limited. Any experience? Thanks

Thanks. Do you have to pay the full amount before dinner and activities will appear on cruise planner? Right now, we only paid the deposit.

First time on a RC ship. I booked for next year, but was told the 630 time slot was booked and the wait list was also full. Will it be difficult to get a reasonable time to eat at the mdr (we have kids with us)? How soon can I book online? Thanks
Anthem thoughts.... just got off the ship
