  3. Missed embarkation in Miami last November due to mechanical problems on our flight from Toronto. NCL booked us on a flight to San Juan the next day. We stayed over one night in Toronto and one night in San Juan at our expense. We picked up the cruise the next day so day 3 of the cruise. No compensation from NCL. We did not have insurance.
  4. You do it onboard the ship at NCL’s expense.
  5. This past November our flight from Toronto to Miami was delayed for more than eight hours and subsequently we missed embarkation on the Encore. NCL booked us a flight to San Juan where we picked up the cruise on day three. There was no compensation from NCL. We incurred the cost of accommodations and other expenses in Toronto and San Juan. Our insurance didn’t cover anything because we had booked the cruise during a government no cruise advisory. We did not have any insurance through NCL. We made the best of the situation and really enjoyed our 5 day cruise in the Encore Haven. The most frustrating part of the experience was trying to reach NCL’s flight department when we realized we were not going to make the cruise. I called a series of numbers listed on the website and each time I was forwarded to reservations. Finally got through to the right department but it was extremely unnerving.
  6. Actually arrived early in Ocean Cay this morning after stopping in Miami last night to deal with the emergency. We were flying last night.
  7. Medical emergency. No word yet if and when we go to Ocean Cay.
  8. We boarded on April 23. Didn’t ask for proof of insurance. Staying in the YC.

  10. I’m getting dressed for dinner right now on the Seaside. I have never worn shorts for dinner on my MSC cruise, but I am tonight. I will spend dinner enjoying the food, ambiance and the company of my wonderful wife. If someone chooses to look under our table to see my bare legs I hope it doesn’t ruin their dinner. If it does perhaps they should choose another way to enjoy their leisure time and the things around them that are really important.

  13. I’m on the Seashore in the YC right now. Checked in for the cruise on Saturday and was not asked for any proof of insurance. Go figure.

    YC Wifi

    What kind of wifi do you get included in the YC, specifically on the Seashore.
  15. I had previously purchased Ontario Blue Cross medical insurance which provides COVID coverage, but I had to buy TuGo for trip cancellation/interruption insurance. The TuGo website wouldn’t allow me to purchase medical insurance because I’m 68.
  16. Doing a B2B in the YC on the Seashore in a couple weeks. I would like to know if you can get YC restaurant meals delivered to your room or whether you can only order from the room service menu.
