I’m Elite but my cabin mate is not. Are there special invites that he would be allowed to accompany me?

    Hi

just go see the captains club host they will be given the same status/ invites for the cruise, I do not  think they will be given the happy hour free drinks. But if you have the drinks package it doesn’t matter.

And as per Mr Gump, that is all I have to say on this matter 👍

We got an S1 sky suite on Beyond in January 2024, 11 nights for under £3000 ($3510) per person. That included a total of $1525 OBC after transferring the booking to a TA. Just to put new pricing into perspective.

We are sailing on Beyond through the Panama Canal in March 2024 we have an S1 and it cost $7700 for the two of us. $350 pppn with $1250 OBC and everything included. With hotels in Florida costing over $400 a night we think it is a great deal

Of course your new wife would be the same tier level as you by default, marriage (your kids would be also). She was assigned a CC number with full benefits/perks going forward. Even if you divorce. The only difference is her CC cruise points would be different than yours.  Not even the same as what the OP was asking. OPs friend will be given only limited CC perks/benefits for only the cruise they are on.

I am afraid you are incorrect, when we sailed together the first time we were not married, she was given the same status as myself and received the points for that cruise. She was also given the same status when we sailed on Azamara for that cruise.

When we married you are correct, she was given the same status as me.

  4. Hi

I just did a dummy booking from LHR to Mia round trip, you just do not need to use the return ticket. Remember May 6th is the coronation of King Charles so prices may be a bit higher.
I have used a hotel at Heathrow and to stay there from May 3 to May 7 with a direct flight to Miami in economy is GBP£1650 for 2 pax or £825 each. You can book this with a £150 deposit.

I tried to change my location but it would not let me.

The hotel was the Renaissance at Heathrow, the train Ito central London takes about 20 minutes but London will be very busy that weekend.
    hope this helps

As my wife’s mum said, use it or lose it and do it while you can. I know you will be sad but just be glad your friend was here. God bless.

  6. Hi

as always loving your travel review, can you please tell what the up charge is for the very top shelf spirits. A question, was that a Louis xx cognac Celebrity used to have it on the M class in Michaels and I think I remember it was over $100 a shot. But, if you managed to have the last shot you were given the gold bottle cap. maybe I have not remembered correctly

  7. I have to say age demographic does not mean much to me. If you want to have a good time you will.About 10 years ago I was on a TA from Barcelona and there was a group of WWII veterans who had visited Normandy prior to the sail home.
My word they may have gone to bed early but the bar between 5 and around 8 was fantastic. What stories they had to tell one of mt best ever cruises. Age is in the mind 🍷

I would like to plan another cruise or vacation but I have no idea what or where.

What will, or should, come next for us Is anyone’s guess.

    I have $15,000 taste and a $5,000 budget. Sigh.

Just keep looking, book while on board and buy lottery tickets.

😂😂 we sailed in a suite for the first time in September and there is no way my wife is ever getting into one of those cabins with the big brown doors, great review and it would be a pleasure to sail with you.

Oh remember 60 is the new 40 👍

They were also allowed to join your group when dining in Luminae? Interesting. Since you have to check-in with the Luminae host before being seated, that seems very odd.

The Luminae host was put in a position where she had no choice but to allow the non suite guests into the restaurant. It was so very embarrassing we apologised to her the next day.

  10. Hello

this is my experience from a recent sailing on the Reflection.

We had arranged to have dinner with a group who we had previously met in the retreat lounge. We arranged to meet in the lounge and one couple had decided to have a drink at the ensemble bar where they met another couple.

They decided to invite them to join the group and brought them in to the retreat lounge. It was very embarrassing for the everyone (apart from the ones who invited the couple) the Retreat host did not know what to do, the retreat bar server and the host at Luminae said nothing. They also took advantage of the free bar and to be honest they also ordered numerous starters and main meals in the restaurant. It was very embarrassing for us and we will never be party to this ever again.

The next day we spoke to the barman in the retreat and the host in Luminae who knew some folks were not suite guests but could not do anything, they both said we cannot say anything to upset guests. We think this is totally wrong.

  11. Hi Riocca  and Host Jazzbeau,

many thanks for the information I can now see the itinery on the web site

Our TA is going to call us in the morning. We really do not mind returning to

Istanbul so will wait and see. The cost of our suite has reduced about £250

since the change so maybe we will get a bonus from AZ.

once again many thanks for all the quick responses.

  12. Hello

it seems our sailing next year October 14 Istanbul to Athens has been chartered. The cruise now sails from Istanbul to Istanbul. Can someone on board please ask if the sailing has been fully chartered and if the sailing dates have changed.

Just my luck as I booked a reward seat to Istanbul for Oct 11 pre cruise.

    Thanks for your help.

  13. Hello

we are booked on the Onward sailing from Istanbul to Athens

in October 2023, the sailing still shows in my account. But

when I try and look for available cabins the sailing does not

show. In fact there is only one sailing on Oct 4 from Venice

to Istanbul. The sailing we are booked on 14 October 8 nights

Istanbul to Athens is no longer showing.

Has anyone any idea what is happening. Many thanks

    Steve

  14. We were recently on the Reflection, my wife took the advantage of the 10% added to slot credit and she turned it in to cash. I have no idea what she did but talking to another passenger she was told the following: They had $700 OBC and asked for Casino slot credit for that amount. They were told that the maximum amount they could have loaded to their card was $500 and were given $200 in cash.

will try that on our next cruise.

  16. We too were on the Reflection sailing from Rome 16 Sept and also were in a suite and dined in Luminae. We have cruised so many times on Celebrity the first time on the Summit in 2002 when formal nights were, well formal.

Yes things have changed but then again hasn’t everything. We loved our sailing and it was fantastic to be back on a ship. We found the food and service to be wonderful never met anyone coughing and used the stairs rather than the elevators.

Walked and walked around the ship we love Aruba too but just enjoy being in a different place every day. Whilst we are able we will continue to cruise.  Definitely not losing its spark for us.

We've booked experience more packages several times and the OBC was exclusively for shore excursions. Pretty easy for the system to only allow it to be applied to excursions so I wouldn't expect that a wine package would qualify.

I usually sail with Celebrity and they have similar packages but the OBC is given for spa treatments. However if the credit is not used for the spa it can still be used for any other purchases. What would happen if a trip was booked but then cancelled would the credit be lost.
