  1. Actually, the law is that refunds have to be processed within 30 days. (Yes, I am a lawyer, but not your lawyer. 😉 ) And I canceled more than 30 days before the excursion. The reason I "waited" this close to the cruise was because the other excursion didn't come out until this close to the cruise. I actually waited all the way from September until March for the Mt St. Michel excursion to come out and when it didn't finally booked the Paris excursion thinking that Carnival must simply not be offering that excursion this year...then the MSM came out. So it was not an issue of just me farting around and not taking care of something for months on end like you are depicting. As an aside, last time I had this exact same issue, I DID wait more than a 30 days to call in order to give them time to process the return. And I still NEVER got the gift card...and I would NEVER have gotten the gift card had I not stayed on them and called over and over again. And spent hours on the phone. And emailed. I am convinced this is the exact same situation. And, no, it is not okay. A person should not have to call 10+ times and spend HOURS on the phone just to get a refund. That isn't reasonable. If you think that is reasonable, you clearly have a lot more time to waste than I do. I now have both my TA and also a friend of hers at Carnival working on this as well after spending two hours on this last night and another hour on it this morning. The Carnival cheerleaders can make all the excuses that they want, but it should not be this much trouble to get a refund for a canceled excursion...especially not when all you want to do is simply book another excursion!
  2. I am platinum and checked in at midnight ET 16 days before. I literally was hitting refresh until it allowed me to check in at 11 pm central time (midnight ET) and went straight to arrival appointment time and could not select any earlier than 12:30-1. My boarding zone is H01. This is for Europe Pride on May 28th. We are debarking late--at 7. Is 12:30 the first arrival appointment time? If so, why is my boarding group H01 and not A01 or, at least, B01? I don't care that much because we are in Barcelona and it isn't like there are a lack of fun things to do, but I just found it strange. Is the H simply because it is the 12:30 slot and do they completely skip over the A, B, etc.?
  3. I waited until the end of the day today to call so it would be seven FULL business days since they told me I would receive the cards within that. I pushed the number for the fun shops. Explained the situation to the woman on the line. She says, "Let me transfer you." and then puts me on hold. I sat on hold for over THIRTY FREAKING MINUTES and then the call just hung up on me. B.S. So sick of this. I emailed my TA because this is 600 and about to leave in a week. I want that money for the cruise. (I already paid for the new excursion on a credit card but I figure I can use that for tips and incidentals on the cruise and apply it to my on board account.) Ridiculous. I am starting to get really mad now.
  4. We had that cabin one time. Loved it. Only con was no shade on balcony and no privacy. But that is true for almost all of the havana balconies or, really, almost all the aft balconies. They can see you from below and above.
  5. I think the poster was joking. But I have accidentally taken prohibited items before I knew they were prohibited and nothing happened.
  6. Sigh. I am afraid you may be on to something. Might also explain why they told me 5-7 days. Why would it otherwise take 5-7 days to send a virtual gift card? If they send them by mail, no telling when I will get them.
  7. Oh geez. If they send them by mail, I probably won't get them before I leave for Europe! I was thinking they would send the same sort of card (physical card vs virtual card) as what the original card was, but that doesn't mean they will. My original cards were virtual. I can't now recall (since it has been more than a week) what they said exactly.
  8. I am now at 7 business days and still no gift cards in my inbox. Sigh. Guess I will be calling back yet again.
  9. I will have a boarding pass. Why wouldn't I have a boarding pass? The flights are only 3 hours apart. Not more than 24. I can check in for my second flight and obtain the boarding pass before I ever leave Houston.
  10. I actually think they are more likely to move a large kid up than one for being really smart. My first ever cruise, when I was 13 years old, the club people moved me to the teenage group after seeing me without my parents saying anything. I was 5'8 and a D cup bra. I was also had my braces off, was already having my hair highlighted and in all respects looked and acted like a much older teenager. Frankly, I looked almost exactly the same from about age 12 until until I was about 38-39 and started getting fat.
  11. I will say it. I don't let my older son check himself out of kid's club because he is so out of it/clueless/distracted that he would never be able to find his way back to our room if we did. One time my younger son put a mac-and-cheese bowl in the microwave without adding water first and it caught on fire. Like a real fire. Our fire alarms went off. Smoke filled the house. I threw a towel on the fire to put it out. I ran around opening all the windows. House smelled awful. Completely filled with smoke. My older son was sitting there playing on his pad through the entire thing and never moved. He looked up about 30 minutes later and said, "Where did all this smoke come from?" Never noticed the fire alarms. Never noticed my other son and I screaming or the commotion. Never noticed the fire. He plays soccer and the coaches never put on goalie because he will be picking flowers, staring at the clouds in the sky, and talking to himself. He doesn't even need a tablet or a phone to get distracted. He once came home with only one shoe on and had no idea how he lost the other, where it was, or when it happened. Not even making this up. One would think you would notice only having one shoe on. Not him. He is, however, very well-behaved if for no other reason than he is so in his own little world he is unbothered by whatever anyone else is doing. He probably needs to be on ADD meds but he is so skinny (because he forgets to eat unless we remind him) that I worry it would affect his growth if I put him on them.
  12. Ok, upon consulting the Heathrow airport website, it says: CONNECTING FLIGHTS If your baggage is checked through to your final destination, that’s where you clear customs. If you’re collecting your baggage and checking in to your next flight yourself, you need to pass through customs at Heathrow.
  13. I also asked on the BA flyer forum and they said the same thing as BA. I have been through LHR three times since Brexit and only had to go through C&I the one time when I had two separate tickets and a bag that wasn't checked through.
  14. I am sure you are correct. Still no refund today. Tomorrow will be 7 business days so I guess I will give it until Friday before I call. Frankly, I may just go ahead and purchase the new excursions with a credit card and then use my gift cards on the cruise to apply to my on board account to pay for incidentals.
  15. I just called British Airways and I do not have to clear customs and immigration on a short layover (less than 24 hours) unless I had to go "land side" to pick up and recheck baggage. Now I do have to go back through security, but not customs and immigration because I am never officially entering the UK.
  16. Even though I am just having a layover and not leaving the Heathrow airport? I thought if you were not leaving the airport that you didn't have to go through customs and immigration...only security.
  17. Still no refund and tomorrow will be a week since my last convo with them wherein they said I would get the gift card refund in 5-7 days. Getting annoyed because I wanted that $600 to book the "new" excursions and I "check in" in 2 days. Guess I will give it a couple more days...
  18. I tried to post a funny mole meme, but it didn't work. Then I tried to find a mole emoticon but the best I could do was a porcupine. 🦔
  19. I never said I was "properly" bundling them, lol. 😂 I have the bags that use an actual vacuum to get all the air out and the clothes do come out wrinkled because I have done it before. I believe you that the system you use doesn't cause wrinkles because I have used those roll bags before as well, but they don't get the clothes as shrunken down as the vacuum bags do. I even told everyone that we are skipping formal nights because I don't want to have to pack the shoes for formal nights...because with three boys/men their giant shoes alone will take up half of a carry on suitcase. Hubs is 12/13 shoe size and my boys are already in men's size shoes despite being in 8 and 10.
  20. If you get $1 off per gallon of gas per 1000 points and you get 2000 points per $500 purchase, that would come out to a $60 savings (assuming a 30 gallon tank) so slightly better than the Allstate or AARP. But, if you have a smaller tank, not as good of a deal.
  21. Those photos are insane! Love seeing them. Photos of the steakhouse look good, too.
  22. I am packing for our trip in less than 3 weeks. I am going to attempt to fly with carry on only because I don't want to have to pick up luggage and re-check it in Heathrow and go through customs both in Heathrow and again in Barcelona. (Our IAH-LHR round-trip heathrow had to be booked on a different ticket number than our one way LHR-BCN for reasons that would take a paragraph to explain. If tickets are on different ticket numbers despite being with the same airline, you have to pick up and re-check luggage, go through customs, etc.) Because of this, I will be vacuum packing our clothes. Is there any sort of item to get the wrinkles out that I can permissibly take on the cruise? Has anyone ever asked the room steward for an iron and been given one?
  23. @canes20 I apologize for reading it that way.
  24. Our shower didn't work in our Aft wrap suite the entire time despite them coming 3 times to fix it. Fortunately, we also had the adjoining cabin so we were able to use that shower. The hot water issue was not mine but several people who have been on the Pride (both here and in F B groups) have complained about hot water issues on the Pride. Either no hot water at all or it coming out scalding.
