  1. As an aside to your aside, on the latest episode of Master Chef Junior, one of those Gordon Ramsey shows, the kid chefs had to work in teams to prepare meals for a group of magicians at the Magic Castle!
  2. I always add things I've done to my checklist -otherwise, how would I know I've done them? I actually have a core checklist, then add and subtract depending on the cruise, how many days, expected climate, etc., etc. It constantly changes as I pack.
  3. Yeah! Finally made it to the first page of one of my favorite cruisers' reviews. I'm usually so far behind.
  4. Thanks for the advice - just bookmarked your Dream review, and I promise I will get to it (eventually!).
  5. Following along. It appears you and your Mom have quite the adventures on your cruises! I apologize now, because I don't think I've ever read any of your previous reviews. Now I fear you have added more things to my to-do list - go back and read your past reviews!
  6. Jeff and Patti, thanks so much for all of the work you do to provide us all with these wonderful reviews. Right now, a Carnival cruise is not on my radar, but if it ever is, you are two of the people I would want to cruise with and meet in person!
  7. Finally finished! I am so far behind in reading the live reviews I have saved. Thanks for the great trip, Sid!
  8. Now I know I am going to get really confused about which Celebration Live I'm reading!
  9. I can't believe it's been five years since I read your last review! Time really does fly. Your son Ian is a really cute kid! Congrats!
  10. Finally got caught up - this morning, every time I finished a page, another was added! This is going to be one great review!
  11. So, so sorry for your loss. May you both heal and find peace.
  12. That was one of the best stories! Now we definitely need to see that outfit!
  13. Thanks - just the info I needed to give to my daughter.
  14. Once you're transferred credit card points to an upcoming cruise for OBC, where might you find the credit showing on the Celebrity website? TIA!
  15. I usually forget to ask my URComped host for a certain room, but you can definitely request, if you have a preference (check some sites to see which cabins are vacant). Then, if I get assigned a cabin I don't really like, I look at available cabins and request a change in cabin number. I have done this successfully several times. And you do get assigned a specific cabin number, not one of those generic "guarantee" type cabins, where you have no clue until close to your cruise.
  16. Thank you for answering my question. I had a feeling this was the case, but hoped it had changed to what they actually state as a benefit.
  17. Priority debarkation for Sapphire and above, it does show priority embarkation for Amethyst level. But my question is not what the flyer shows, it is if they are actually honoring what the flyer shows.
  18. Does anyone know if there really is priority embarkation for members of the Blue Chip Club at Amethyst level? It is noted as a perk, but not sure if it is really happening.
  19. I'd like to know the answer to this also, sailing soon on the Beyond. There are so many conflicting answers to this question, and too many Celebrity website screen shots that are different from each other.
  20. Looking forward to this! I've been missing in action for a few months - long story - but have still been following along.
  21. Thanks for the info. It's nice to hear we probably won't be waiting all morning for immigration.
  22. Yes, I wasn't sure what time the Summit arrived in Portland today. Hopefully immigration begins shortly after we dock at 7. I really didn't recall Jim saying what time they arrived, so I thought perhaps it was the same time as we are scheduled to arrive.
  23. Oh, I know - it's just that they may not be as familiar with the ship as the departing crew, so it could take them a few days to re-orient. Not that I'd hate for anyone's long-awaited leave to be postponed, but there were several crew members on my Summit cruise that ended the beginning of July that were scheduled to leave right after your cruise ended. Sort of hoping they'll still be around! (My MDR server, Ida, my cabin steward Reynaldo, so I can say hi, and my great casino beverage server, Ashish, who made sure he had a cruise's worth of Mich Ultra at the casino bar for me). As for customs in Portland, we're scheduled to arrive at 7 AM. If customs inspection doesn't even begin until after 10AM, it seems like the entire morning in port is wasted. Glad we don't leave until 8PM, but then again, makes for a longish port day when the cruise ends the next morning. Guess these aren't third world problems though! Just looking forward to cruising again.
