She is going the long way around. Some cruises have been cancelled and the first UK cruise on 22nd April is now departing on the 23rd April. As far as I know she will now be travelling from Dubai to Southampton empty of passengers for 2 or 3 weeks. I am on the 23rd April cruise which was supposed to be 12 days but is now 11 days.
Thank you.

The Virtuosa is currently in Arabia somewhere. How will she get back to Southampton for summer 2024 season?

Has anyone got some photos of these cabins? Especially the bathroom.

Not in my lifetime.

I use a collapsible scooter. You have to book an accessible cabin, mini suite, or full suite.

They have been trying to recruit staff since before Arcadia came back into service. The problem isn't recruitment, but getting them to the U.K. I even suggested to P&O that they sent Arcadia to the Philippines to get them, instead of floundering off the Devon coast.
Another lead balloon.

Ariva crew are a mixture of experienced well performing crew from across the fleet. They have all rotated off over the last couple of months and will slowly rotate on to Ariva, mostly in November.
Yes, massive recruitment drive underway to recruit more staff. These both backfill existing roles on teh current fleet plus potentialy a few roles on Ariva too. I understand recruitment is going well.
On the other point, speciality restaurants being closed is now down to staff availability. Earlier this year, the random closures were partly due to supply chain issues.

How will they get crew for Arvia? Mothball Arcadia again?

There's only got to be a puff of wind, and the captain bottles it.

We are on her in two weeks: pretty confident that she won't be sold by then, unless P&O use "webuyanyliner.com"
I can see Philip Schofield doing the advert.

Do they still do covid testing before boarding at Southampton?

Just had confirmation from an Indian waiter that the boys due to join Arcadia shortly have been told they won't be but it would appear that are joining other ships which is good news for them.
Conformation? From an Indian waiter? Get a grip.

LFT
in UK Cruisers
We now do a 2 day lft on return to U.K. Whoever you purchase your test kit from, will it come with a reference number for your PLF?

Do you need proof of having booster jab for boarding cruises to Europe?

Hmm - due to pay the balance shortly for our Arcadia cruise in March. Will be interesting to see if any statement affects that.
But, historically, P&O make announcements on a Tuesday, so I'm taking this rumour with a shovel full of salt.
Perhaps the OP could tell us where these rumours are circulating - I'm assuming they are not being overheard in a pub in Shropshire !
Nice typing. So many predictive text errors in " shovel full of salt"

Do they have soft close doors?
The ships that sail out of Soton will be IKEA.

From our area it's Intercruisruises/Cruise Connect. I can't see anything on their website about Covid.
We have booked from Lancaster. Presuming they use Ellinsons coaches they have a video of protocols prior to boarding on their facebook page.

P&O preferred coach partner to Southampton have a boarding guideline on their fb page. They are not starting operations until September. When international cruises start. I cannot name them, because it will be classed as advertising by the administrators.

Is a rapid antigen test, the same as a lateral flow test?

I am booked on the Arcadia next March, which, if she survives will be her first cruise since returning from her world cruise.
Are they going to let her rot off the south coast? The crew on board must be going stir crazy, with only occasional visits to Southampton.
Alan.

There's a rumour that she's going to Hamburg for a refit this year.

WE are considering a December Festive cruise to Northern ports on Arcadia with 3 overnight ports of call so my concern is that are the ships warm enough when sitting in the public areas especially with the doors being open all night.
We aint spring chickens so tend to feel the cold 🥶
We have done a festive cruise before but that was to the Caribbean so warmth of ship was not a consideration
Your name rings a bell. Did you go on the IOTS?
