  1. Hey jmdlv1, Maybe you should reconsider skydiving, that way you would not have to deal with the turbulence when the plane lands. 😆
  2. What time does the boarding start? I will be Aqua class and will check in on the App. I want to get on ‘early’ but don’t want to arrive so early that I have to sit and wait for hours. Thanks. I wonder if it depends on embarkation port? We will be in Civitavecchia.
  3. “Ran across the street to Publix to get 2 bottles of wine and a P3 pack for evening snack tonight.” I am eagerly reading your review since I am on The Edge in 3 months and am also gluten free (Celiac). I wondered what do you mean by a “P3 pack“ for an evening snack? Thanks for taking the time. Any gluten free food suggestions are much appreciated.
  4. I have not heard about the age (66) limit for trip cancellation coverage on the credit card. Am I missing something? I looked over my Chase Sapphire Reserve Benefits booklet and could not find an age restriction. Does anyone have more info on that?
  5. I question your quoted “experts”. This is from the university of Georgia research in regard to the Corona Virus “Small to large droplets aerosolized when an infected person sneezes or coughs, and these can be inhaled into the nose and lungs. The aerosolization is thought to be the primary route of virus entry. However, droplets containing viruses can also be deposited on hard surfaces and persist for several days. A person can then touch a contaminated surface and self-inoculate by inserting their fingers in their nose, mouth or possibly eyes.” The hard surface could very well be a book. When people sneeze they avoid their hands but generally don’t consider shielding the book on their lap. Given that the virus can live several days, that could be a problem.
  6. “and more bizarre is some of these commentators have never sailed the ship” For anyone new to these forums, beware of reviews by those few Never-Edgies who have never stepped foot on the ship herself. Many who have experienced The Edge firsthand call it their best cruise experience (IV and all).
  7. My concerns for cancelling are only in case of a medical emergency..... Doctor documentation and all that.
  8. You are right! I had no idea about these other forums (but it makes sense). I will ask over there.
  9. I was just checking with my various credit cards to find out which ones have trip cancellation coverage before final payment on my cruise. It seems that most of them have gotten rid of or greatly reduced this feature. One credit card representative explained that if you cancel a cruise then they would cover it under the purchase protection clause. She explained it would be like you hired a florist for your wedding and paid upfront then cancelled the wedding. The credit card company would get your money back. Has anybody heard of this? I am not planning on cancelling my cruise but want to know my options just in case.
  10. Unfortunately they have raised their annual fee to $550 which is pretty steep even with the $300 travel credit.

  12. How is it different on The Edge?
  13. “Really disliked the fact that air conditioning went off even when veranda doors were closed. We do understand the reasoning. ” I thought the AC stayed on if the Verandah doors were closed when the window is open. Some have mentioned turning off some ‘green’ feature to keep the AC on. Is that wrong?
  14. Do they have the silent disco on The Edge?
