  1. I was on the Summit last May. The sports court is used for pickleball at certain times.

They did have a few racquets and balls. Since the ship is moving, it was impossible to have any type of volley.

The ball occasionally slipped through the fence and rolled down the steps.

  2. I was on the Solstice in July. The only area that looked tired was the pool in the Solarium.  Every other part of the ship was fine.
As to the food, there are so many good choices in the MDR, you’d have to be a food snob or not appreciate good food to be dissatisfied. There were nights our group of 4 ordered extra entrees to share just to get a taste.

This was my first Celebrity cruise and I’m in the process of booking my next one.

The Solstice may not be shiny and new, but she’s intimate and welcoming.

Dear MSC, Two weeks ago when I called to upgrade to a balcony because you had a sale on for $1500, you told me the price would be $1800 for us because we already had a booking.

MSC’s policy is to upgrade at the price in effect when you originally booked. As previously stated, upgrade offers are generated and emailed without knowledge to each passengers circumstances prior. To cancel your cruise or not try to bid on an upgrade because you are upset with their policy will not change anything in the future.
if you still want the upgrade, bid. If you want to cancel and go at a later date to that. Either way we will be cruising on MSC at some point. If you want to cancel and go at a later date to that. Either way we will be cruising on MSC at some point.

  4. Right now, they are allowing customers to cancel cruises booked through July and giving Future Cruise Credit. Would it be worth your time to find out if you can cancel and rebook the same cruise? Speakerphone would free you up to do other things while on hold...

We are nervous to go on 3/21 on seaside because several of us have underlying health issues and my husband is 83 which puts him in a high risk category. Did MSC give the option to rebook because when I called they offered nothing.

MSC has posted on their website they will offer FCC if you wish to cancel. You can cancel up to 2 days before your cruise and must rebook to travel by December 2021.

  6. From MSC’s website:

FWIW - you have to call or have your TA do it if you want to do it in advance. Can't be done online.

And if you do it in advance, all adults in cabin have to upgrade.

Anecdotally, lots have been able to upgrade just one person once aboard, but they do pay the service charge on upgrade amount.  Your mileage may vary on being able to do so..

I guess I’ll have to pay the 15% charge once onboard. Thanks for your help.

We sailed on the Meriviglia 2/16/20.  Once on the ship we were approached about upgrading our drink package.  My husband upgraded his, and I kept the Easy Package.

Thanks for confirming. So far, I’m unable to upgrade prior to cruising.

  9. I’m aware of what the fine print says. I’m NOT trying to scam MSC.

I’m sailing in an Aurea cabin and have the Easy drink package. My husband is fine with this. I am not. I prefer wines not included, Margaritas, and Malibu. I am wondering if anyone has successfully upgraded only one of the people in a cabin to a higher beverage package. I do not intend to get drinks for anyone other than myself with it, so please refrain from commenting unless you can answer my question. Thanks

You are wrong.  Bartenders are not part of the DSC pool.

A gratuity is charged for each drink ordered.

If I prepay my drink package before sailing, there is no 15% gratuity charged. Does that mean unless I tip for each drink, the bartender gets nothing at all?
