  1. Although we were in Miami and not Barcelona this is what we did - DH and I checked in and then we just headed over to the general boarding check in and waited with the rest of our group. Yes we missed the special boarding for Haven guests but we went through the excitement of boarding and the pre-boarding pictures together and it was worth it...especially because some were first time cruisers.
  2. Marisa is not with an agency....If you search her name on Trip Advisor, Rome with Marisa, she has great reviews and responds promptly to any questions you may have. We have a small group and she has been great in planning our days around what we want and our schedules. She will also pickup tickets that are needed.
  3. Hoping somebody can give me an answer to this question. After reading all of this I am confused now. We are flying AA from DFW to FCO, business class. I know I will have no baggage fees on that flight between my AAdvantage card and the class. We booked everything through AA but our flight from FCO stops in LHR and we will be on BA. We booked Premium Economy seats but the only flight that is available will be our LHR to DFW.....so baggage fees? Only one bag per person when we leave FCO?
  4. Just what I was going to post!!
  5. I have never sent undergarments in our laundry.....this will be our first 2 week cruise but I will still not send them. I have read woolite will do the trick.
  6. I am frugal and proud of it...a desperate cheap skate NO

You all have been so helpful! I have another question about our return flight. last time we had a direct flight from Rome to the US. This time we will have a 4 hour layover in LHR. I have researched and that should be plenty of time but what should I expect leaving FCO since we will not be flying directly to the US? We have booked thru AA but the FCO-LHR flight is on BA. Which terminal? Customs? Thank you in advance
  10. We are also on the Jewel in Aug 2020......we decided to embark in Seward ending in Vancouver. We have also decided on an aft balcony.
  11. We found that after such busy port days we were actually too tired to stay up late which is what we usually do on Caribbean cruises. We took a 7 day Rome/Rome in 2015 and this October we are taking a 14 day from Rome. Have fun planning - we used tours and not the cruiseline excursions and are doing the same again. If you are on your roll call it can save $$ joining a tour with others As others have posted enjoy and don't take on so much that you can't enjoy...
  12. That is what we are planning...a few in our group are attending the Papal audience and the rest of us will be doing the museum early and taking our time - we can not go into the Basilica until afternoon because of the Papal Audience. I like how she arranges her tours to fit our needs.
  13. There is so much to see in Rome that I agree with PelicanLver...do a tour. You will spend less time in lines and you won't be wandering around losing precious time not to mention you will be told a little background/history of what you are seeing. If you had more time then I would suggest doing more on your own. I will be in Rome for my 2nd time in October. I missed so much the first time that we are using a private tour guide this next trip.
