WHEN IS THE AGM

Just had a reply from the stock perks site saying that Carnival were not accepting any request for credits for cruises after 31 July, to try again in May. I do not know if this means they are going to change or even stop this benefit. Time will tell.

We will be doing the reverse in September by meeting the ship in St Johns. I notice you said the airfares organised by Seabourn had be fairly priced , I have just been quoted over Double the price I could get direct which surprised me as I usually (and prefer) to use flight ease.

I think the flight from Halifax to St johns is only 1h 45m but it is a small plane

Booked already. I called Seabourn about the flights and they advise they cannot inform me until Nov 7 ie 11 months after return flight but they did say they would most probably fly in to St Johns the day before to cover bad weather. The flights from the UK would either be via Halifax, Montreal or Toronto.

It is best you check with Seabourn, most OBC given by travel agents actually comes from Seabourn that is why you cannot use both. My agent discounts the Seabourn price and therefore you can use both.

Re the photo We could not believe it , when we went in June although no names or cabin numbers were taken the photo`s were in our cabin the same evening when we returned.

Can you imagine trying to get the timing right?

I think this is sensible , why do people have to book a year in advance, I have never failed to get a reservation on board. I do not want it to get like some other lines that when you arrive on board to find all tables have been booked before departure for the whole cruise

Thankyou for info on food etc, we are booked on the Venture for a non expedition cruise, can you let me know what entertainment there is the bars of an evening ie pianist etc

It is not an expedition cruise going from St Johns Newfoundland to Barbados with lots of sea days ( we like them ) so Iwonder if there will be some entertainment and quiz compo. , I am not worried about Thomas Keller having done that many times.

We have just booked the Venture for next year, what are the main differences we will find after sailing in the larger ships. I am hoping it will remind me of the Spirit.

It is annoying , but I can understand Seabourn, If a cruise is still not full after final payments they will try to fill the remaining cabins but to reduce the price for everybody would be much too costly. I would not be surprised if they do not come back with an offer of on board credit but not for the full amount,

Usually, with BA you can book seats for free 24 hrs before departure .

There are approx 400 to 500 passengers on a Seabourn ship with perhaps 25 to 50 pc interested in night time shows . What are the chances of pleasing the 100 - 200 passengers who might want to go every night. not very high i would have thought.

For new sailors the thing to remember is although the restaurants will say what wines are served that day you can have any of the included wines any day and in any restaurant. The thing to do is go to the Seabourn square on your first day and ask for the current list of included wines and they will print you an up to date list and then request at the table what you fancy that time . There are usually approx 10 reds , 10 whites together with rose`s etc, we always find exceptable wine.
