You can see the schedule for the current sailing in the app. You just have to click on the calendar icon (at the top of the page in the center), then click on "change shill dates" (at the bottom center of the page). Then scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page and you'll see a message that says "don't see your cruise, let's add it now," click on that. Then it'll open a form you can fill out with your name and reservation #, ignore that, look below it and it'll say "browse our ships," click that. Then you can pick a ship and the current sailing date to see the schedule for the current week.

Cruise Planner Status: DOWN
ARandomTraveler replied to gmerick's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Mine has been doing that for all 3 of my cruises since last night. I figured they were doing maintenance. I wanted to do a last-minute check on prices since my cruise was 3 days away and the cruise planner was about to close on me. -
People just need to remember to log off their other device before logging into a new one and then it won't kick anyone off. I'm the primary account holder and it doesn't keep me from getting logged off. It's not that annoying, since it's easy to log back in, but if you're doing something important, like work, or a phone call, it would be aggravating. I think for anyone who's gonna be traveling with someone who frequently forgets to log out and is kicking your device off the internet, it might be worth just paying the extra $15 or $30 for your own device package if getting logged off is gonna be annoying for you.

I'm not sure if there's a rhyme or reason to it. I only use one device but my daughter switches between her phone, iPad and computer, and when she forgets to sign out of one before signing into another, it always seems to be me who gets kicked off. Not a huge deal though because it's easy to sign back in and kick her extra device off, or remind her to log off whichever one she's not using.

Hideaway beach, coco beach club or nothing
ARandomTraveler replied to cusematt4's topic in Royal Caribbean International
If you've never been there, don't pay for either. Do the free stuff and see what you think of it before spending the money. I went there 3 times before bothering to pay to check out any of the other stuff. If you're intent on paying for access to one of the other areas, I'd do hideaway for the bachelor party. I wouldn't pay for a family to go into either club, do the free stuff with the family, especially if there's kids in the group. Nobody wants kids in coco beach club and it's a waste of money to pay for them to get in there. -
One lesser known feature is that when you've lost something, you can go into the "find my" app and set your AirTag to "enable lost mode." When you do this, it will constantly beep, hopefully drawing the attention of someone nearby the lost item, and if they have an iPhone, they can bring the phone close to the AirTag (in the same way you would if you were trying to set up a new one on your phone) and it will open up a page that shows a message from the owner and a way to contact them. *edited to add that I should mention here that if you accidentally end up with an item that doesn't belong to you, and you have an iphone, your iPhone will tell you that there is an AirTag in your possession that doesn't belong to you. The reason for this isn't actually to notify someone that they've accidentally taken someone's things, it's to notify people who may be being stalked by someone who is using AirTags to track their location. For example, putting AirTags inside someone's car, or inside their purse, so you can follow them without their knowledge. It's a safety feature, but will also serve as notification to someone who accidentally took your things. If someone has stolen your item, and they don't know the AirTag is inside the item, you'll be able to pinpoint an address or building where it's at. If you believe it's been stolen, you can call the police and they can go knock on the door for you. Police did this for my daughter when someone stole her scooter, and they tracked it down and brought it back to her. Short of that, your "Find My" app will show you an approximate location, which can be as specific as someone's home address. Or, like I mentioned in one of my other posts, will tell you that a bag is located on the tarmac at an airport (with pretty close accuracy, as you can see which terminal it's near, but someone still has to go out there and look around). It can also put your mind at ease when you see that your bag is at the same airport you're currently at, especially if you've had a tight connecting flight and weren't sure if your bag made it onto the next plane.

I guess it can take some luck in finding someone on the other end willing to help track things down. So far I've been lucky in that I was able to get the airline to hunt my bags down (they were located on a tarmac at LAX, having been left there by baggage handlers). And my daughter was lucky in finding a police officer willing to track down her scooter (which was found with a homeless person). Aside from that, they also help to assuage fears of "where is my bag" so that you at least have an idea of whether it's in the building, on the plane, on the ship, in the same town, etc. Tracking it down and getting it back is another issue but having that question of "where is my bag" answered takes away half the stress.

The best thing you can do with a joke is know your comedic timing, and when to make your exit before it stops being funny anymore (especially with teenagers). Southern Caribbean sailings out of Puerto Rico are my favorite. I love the beaches down there. I haven't done one since covid though because I hate the ships they've put there. I loved when they had Adventure and Freedom sailing from there, and am waiting for those bigger ships to come back. You're not on the ship much on those routes anyway (unless it's the ABC route where you only have 3 or 4 ports instead of the other route which gives you 5 or 6 ports usually). And the experiences and the nicer beaches are what you're going for on that route, not the ship and not the canned Cococay experience (although I'm with you, I love Cococay because it's an easy beach day).

Nightmare on the "Adventure" of the Seas
ARandomTraveler replied to A.M1ller's topic in Royal Caribbean International
My doctor never prescribes me cruises. I need a new doctor. -
Oh wow, I never noticed this before but I've been wishing that feature existed on the website to make it easier to make bookings (or do mock bookings, since you always have to enter in a second person's info to get pricing unless you're booking a solo). Southwest Airlines has this feature and I love it. Once I saw your post I went looking for it (it's under "profile" and then "saved guests") and it says that it's to "save information about your frequent guests for a speedy checkout" so I assume that's exactly what it's for. Although I didn't know you could book a cruise through the app. I started the process of entering info and then a pop-up said I have to update the app and deleted everything I'd entered.

Icon hot stone or seawood
ARandomTraveler replied to cusematt4's topic in Royal Caribbean International
The hot stones aren't scalding, they're just warm -
On my upcoming sailing on Wonder, it's listed under "onboard activities." There are 5 times available while we're on board (3 on Sunday, 1 on Monday and 1 on Thursday). All of them are $300. 2 have been booked for a while now (a couple months) and the other 2 have sat there un-booked but the price has never changed, even with the Black Friday sale.

Good point, people do this on airlines all the time. -
Carryon luggage questions
ARandomTraveler replied to Sonic2012's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Unfortunately no. The issue with rebooking on United was that the flight had been 3 hours delayed already. When I went to the desk to ask a question about what would happen if we didn't make our next flight, the flight attendant thought he was being proactive in canceling our tickets and was too rushed to even ask if that's what we wanted before he did it. He walked away from the desk afterwards and we had to chase him down to ask him to rebook them. He was rushing around trying to manage the chaos of a lot of angry passengers and was also working on the actual flight, and didn't have time to focus on what he was doing. He made a major mistake and it carried through to my next flight. I could have gotten it fixed, but the Singapore flight was literally in the process of closing the doors when we ran up to them. Again, no time to even have anyone look at a computer screen to fix it. And I wasn't willing to stay in LA for 2 days to get on the next flight, so we hopped on the plane, expecting to be refunded once we landed. That never happened. It was a horrible mess, which also resulted in our luggage getting left in the middle of an LAX tarmac, only to be found a day later because I had AirTags in them, and a person stateside who had the time to sit on the phone and call the airport for me. -
It's not inaccurate, it's generally the rule that most countries list as a requirement for entry, but the cruiseline will overlook it and let people on board without the 6 months left on their passports anyway (for Caribbean cruises anyway). There are countries that some cruises visit that are strict on this rule and won't let people debark if that rule isn't adhered to.

Carryon luggage questions
ARandomTraveler replied to Sonic2012's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I definitely should have been, but wasn't. There were a bunch of us on the initial flight and United said we would never make it in time to LAX in order to get to the international terminal to board the Singapore airlines flight. So the United airlines person took it upon himself to cancel everyone's flights. We immediately asked him to rebook them because we were going to try and make the next flight. He rebooked them in economy. When I pointed that out, he said it didn't matter because we weren't gonna make it anyway. My daughter and I are very fast runners and we were first off the United plane, and ran to the Singapore flight and made it just in time. Singapore airlines refused to rebook us into our original seats because their system now showed that we had economy seats (because of what the United guy booked). I showed him our tickets as well as our receipt, but they said they didn't have time to deal with it and we had to give them our original tickets and accept the economy ones, or not get on the flight. We opted to get on the flight, given there's only 1 per day, and they couldn't rebook us for 2 more days (our cruise was in 3 days, and it's a 17 hour flight). We tried sitting in our original (and paid for) seats once we got on the plane, but they made us move. Told us to visit the Singapore airlines desk once we got there for a refund. Of course the airport was empty when we got there. I went through 2 months of fighting with the airline, making claims on my insurance and on my credit card. It did not go well and I did not get the full fare difference back because they said that since I took the flight, I accepted the economy seats in place of the business class for no compensation. Needless to say, Singapore airlines nor United will get my money again. -

Boardwalk balcony cabin
ARandomTraveler replied to JerseyJ24's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I think the Central Park balconies are noisy too. It didn't bother me, but you can hear everything from the pool deck all day long. The stage for the live band hangs right over Central Park, so their music blares down onto the balconies the whole day. -
That's what I was thinking too.

Crown & Royal points question
ARandomTraveler replied to Cinderella103's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Yes. If this was allowed, I would definitely be guilty of doing this if it benefitted me to reach a specific loyalty level. It costs a lot of money to fly 2 people to a cruise, stay in a hotel, pay for food etc. Let's say someone is 4 points from becoming Diamond, Diamond plus, or pinnacle (loyalty levels that have real monetary value). A last minute cruise pops up for $300 or $500. I'd book it in a heartbeat and not really show up, just to get the points, and save the $1600 (or more) in airfare and hotel. Then, the next cruise you actually take, you're receiving 4, 5 or 6 free drinks because of that $500 fake cruise. $500 costs less than a deluxe drink package on 7 day cruise. That's a financial win. -
Boardwalk balcony cabin
ARandomTraveler replied to JerseyJ24's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I recently read a post where someone was complaining about a bell that gets rung every time they start the carousel. The poster was really angry about how much noise they heard from their boardwalk balcony because they were near the carousel. That said, it's definitely not a complaint that people usually make, so they may have just been really sensitive to noise. I've had a room that was next to the music Hall (it was actually next to Dazzles on Symphony, which I think is the same location as music hall on other oasis class ships). I was in an ocean-view balcony on deck 9, right by the elevator bay and the upper floor of dazzles. I could definitely hear the music and it was loud until around 11pm. Didn't bother me at all, and nights where I was tired enough to go to bed before 11pm, I was able to sleep right through it. I do think other people would complain though. -
Onboard account discrepancy
ARandomTraveler replied to Candleonwater's topic in Royal Caribbean International
It seems like this kind of thing happens on Coco Cay because they don't have a proper automated system on the island to track all the transactions. I swapped a towel on the island and they were writing everything down by hand, which made it so a lot of stuff didn't get recorded until the last day of the cruise. I also booked a last minute kayak excursion on the island, which they also wrote down by hand. When I returned my last towel the night before debarkation, I asked them to make sure my account showed 0 towels. They confirmed that it did. But I received a $25 charge on my bill anyway. I stood in the guest services line for almost an hour to get it removed, and they explained the delay due to keeping track of things on coco cay by hand. I mentioned to her that I had also taken an excursion that I didn't get charged for and she said they had no record of it but it might show up later. It never did.
