Prior to yesterdays launch, people were seeing the descriptions of the various dining options and the wording that 18% gratuity was added. They would then ask if the food was no longer free on the pool deck and MDR. I chuckled to myself thinking of course it's free, always has been. Then I read that they are charging $5.00 for a cone on the pool deck. Has anyone eaten pizza, burgers, or tacos on the pool deck? Surely they aren't charging there too?

I actually look very much forward to unpacking. It's the repacking that sucks. Even though our 17 night cruise in April is a month and a half away, I already get depressed thinking about the repacking at the end.

Dining times on the Sun - when will they open?
MountainEER74 replied to nbsjcruiser's topic in Princess Cruises
I am on the April 17 cruise on the Sun. Today we are 50 days out and dining reservations just became available. -
Thanks for compiling all this information.

Changing the subject from what a rotten, greedy, horrible company Princess is, I for one am still looking forward to my April cruise on the Sun Princess. I saw this on Facebook today and have not seen any mention on this thread. BritsOnAShip have a web site that details almost every article and social media post, pictures and reels about both the Sun Princess and Star Princess. You might want to check it out at BritsOnAShip.com.

My travel summary for a 17 day b2b (10 and 7) does not show casual dining, ocean now delivery, or free room service. It does show only 2 fitness classes, 2 premium deserts per day, and free medallion shipping.

I am not planning a 120 day cruise, I was just using that for an extreme example. My wife's limit is probably about 20 days. Now, if I was on that 120 day cruise, and I'm paying $60/day for the plus pkg., don't you think you deserve more casual dining meals than the guy on a 3 day cruise? After paying for that cruise, I don't think I could afford any extra meal costs. Also some other questions regarding booking b2b cruises separately versus booking them as one longer cruise. Do they send you multiple medallions? Assuming you aren't on either Plus or Premium pkgs do you pay multiple times for the Ocean Now delivery
-
I do think they need to change the details of this policy. How is a voyage defined? My next cruise is a 17 day cruise consisting of 10 day and 7 day cruises b2b but booked as a single cruise. As far as loyalty program it counts 2 cruises. Does this qualify as on or two voyages?

Has Princess come to their senses with this yet. According to the plus package you get two free casual dinings per voyage. So if I book a three night cruise and pay the extra $180 for the Plus pkg I get two free casual dinings. If I book a 120 day world cruise and pay an extra $7200 I also receive 2 free casual dinings. Does this seem right? When are they going to think this through and say maybe we ought to give 2 casual dinners for evey 7 nights of the cruise that are booked with plus package or something similar? Peoples thoughts on this?

If you buy the internet wifi package, take advantage of the Casual Dining meals, pay your gratuity, Ocean Now delivery and Medallion shipping, you only need to drink 2 drinks a day to break even. A coffee in IC and a couple of sodas would probably do it.

My wife always questions going with the Plus package so I put together a spreadsheet showing how many drinks/day is needed to break even. I was surprised with the results. Assuming you pay your gratuity, get wifi internet, utilize casual dining, Ocean now delivery, and Medallion shipping, you only need to drink less than 3 drinks a day to break even. We typically have a coffee in the IC, a martini before dinner, and beer or wine at dinner. The Plus package is a no brainer for us.
