davencl of, course, that goes without saying! LOL! obviously, even though I continue to cruise with NCL, my point is regardless of what they may call it, (and there may actually be a slight drop in price, especially after final payment date) there isnt a sale, of any significant savings to the average cruiser. maybe for a 1st time person, it sounds like the deal of a lifetime, but after sailing with ncl more than a couple of times, you realize that you are not going to save any type of real money, unless you choose an indoor or ocean view cabin. I\m not knocking these choices by any means, it just seems that these are always the lower priced cabins, and even they dont go down much (if at all ) when ncl announces a| "sale"

i interpreted his post as he is booked into a solo, it's $3,000 more to add his friend. regardless, i dont believe ncl will allow anyone else on board if they are not listed. how does he expect to get his friend on the ship, or check him/her in at the desk? again, just saying, i dont think its as simple as he would like it to be.

hey, phillytravel, richg35 used the caribbean as an example. and i believe most people do care about the itinerary they choose. if he would rather pay more money, and sit the entire cruise at a designated table, so be it. more power to him i say!

hey jules, take a sad song and make it better (sorry, i couldnt resist) it isnt the issue of the spare key, if youre booked into a solo as a solo, your friend might not appear on the cruise docs. if he/she does, you may get charged anyway. i dont believe you can get anyone on the ship that isnt listed on the cruise docs. just saying

also, go to either booking or hotels. com. they will ask you to put in the dates and length of your stay. after that they will both give you a massive choice of properties, available rooms, amenities and prices. we sail many times from european ports, and ik always use either of these. -
richg35. there are so many different Caribbean islands with different cultures and cuisines, that if you truly dont care where you are going, you may as well stay home and not spend the $$$. Surprise, surprise! there are many people who arent "beach people" if i feel the urge to go to the beach, santa monica, topanga, leo carrillo are all within an hour drive from my house. we have lived in los angeles for over 50 years and the number of times we've been to any beach, locally, can be counted on 1 hand. plus, you live in NYC, the beach is just as close to you. with ports like GSC, i dont even bother to get off the ship, but in places like barbados, curacoa and cozumel, youre missing a bunch if you just want to scurry off to the beach. if that's the case, book a land vacation to aruba or st maarten, you can "beach" all you like, and it's probably a whole lot cheaper than a disney cruise.

and aren't cruises with disney, considerably more expensive, with less choices for itineraries? remember, if it ain't broke "dont fix it" after 14 years and 30 cruises on ncl, im happy as a clam or a pig in whatever makes a pig being happy in, and after checking the fares, ports of call and most other amenities, i am more than happy to stay with NCL, and as yet have found no real incentive to cruise with any other line

2026 NCL Cruise Critic cruise (proposed)
complawyer replied to schmoopie17's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
hey cruiseny, as you are a travel agent, ,once again i am surprised at this post. the issue isnt that the prices are holding at roughly the same, they have done so for almost the last 3 years, regardless of how NCL spins their sales. the point is, where the heck is the up to $1,000 off cruises, that have so blatantly been offered? -
hey schmoop! i cant believe that after all your cruises, you've never eaten in Moderno. the poster claimed to be a carnivore, so i recommended moderno. sometimes it can be "hit or miss" .the salad bar itself, is enough to justify eating there, and the sliced pineapple is to die for. i would be happy to just eat the salad bar and go directly to the pineapple. since they both share the same kitchen, if im, at cagney's, i ask my waiter if he can sneak us a few slices. actually, my go-to specialty restaurant is cagney's, although we have as yet not sailed on a ship with either onda or paloma. this will soon be corrected in 2 weeks as we're on the prima. If anyone is interested, i'll post a comment, although i usually do not write reviews as i'm certain, somewhere out there someone is bound to disagree. anyway, let us know what you thought about moderno

please, everybody! the horse is quite DEAD, lets stop beating it. commodore dave, got the issue resolved to his satisfaction, although he and i had much differing stances, i am truly glad it worked out somehow to his complete satisfaction, now, lets ALL hope he has a terrific cruise, and wherever he chooses to eat on board, he and his family have nothing but wonderful meals just remember, he is a disappointed traveler, not the enemy. in much earlier posts, there was a lady who was just as disappointed (maybe more so) that Donna was no longer being featured in the showroom. i happened to comment that we cruise for the enjoyment of being on a cruise ,and neither the food nor the shows available enter into our equation. and commodore, once again, BON VOYAGE, and i hope when you get back, you'll let us know how it all went (including any restaurant you may have been in)

we met a very nice couple on our last cruise in april. we had dinners together a few times, but not always (17 day cruise) One night we found ourselves at le bistro, but not eating together. like you, i am not a wine drinker. i offered the free list to the other couple, they made their choice and the waiter brought them the bottle. no problem(s). we have also taken the bottles of wine home with us. -
while i cannot stand 100% behind this information, NCL does usually offer a shuttle service from the airport directly to the ship. the price varies, and it's usually offered the day of embarkation. if you are arriving in the embarkation city anytime prior than the actual departure date, and you want to use this service, you have to go back to the airport. there is no designated schedule per se, it leaves whenever ncl has an available bus, and it's near full to capacity. you can make the arrangements when you are 1st able to check in for the cruise (21 days prior)
