  1. That would be amazing JP, and Carlton Place if schedules allow! Timings are a little tight but I should have enough time for a few little luxuries.
  2. So with the January 24 antipodean sojourn almost entirely in the bag I’ve been casting my mind to 2025. I Made the mistake recently of watching the BBC recent production of around the world in 80 days and have decided to try it in 30. Setting out from Dolgarrog station (the quietest station in the country on January 2nd 2025 and firstly heading down to London for a nice lunch and then setting off from the Reform club for Paris. Travelling through Europe via Genevre and the Swiss Alps, down to Venice and then Vienna, Budapest, Bucharest, Sophia and Istanbul all by train. Fly to Mumbai and cross India by train with a few stops on the way to Kolkatta. Fly from Kolkatta to Vietnam (2 fingers up to Singapore and Hong Kong that won’t let me take my vape) and onto Japan. Japan to Vancouver flight and then take the Canadian through the Rockies to Toronto. Drop down via Niagra to New York and then fly to Dublin. Sail from Dublin into Liverpool and then home. One highlight of the trip would be cheating a whole extra day free of charge out of my life (travelling east to west) One thing yet to be decided is if my intrepid little special pup could come with me! I’m sure he’d love some selfies at the Eiffel Tower and Statue of Liberty and so on.
  3. Thanks for that Terry. The Jetboat adventure is already booked along with a 4x4 trip through the mountains. It looks a lot of fun. drron, I’m actually staying at the Palace Hotel in the Priscilla suite. It’s looking like I Might have to cut it to one day though as the last flight leaving Sydney on the 10th is 13.25 and my train doesn’t get in until 12.30. I’ve been looking at alternatives but haven’t found one yet. Thanks for the recommendations.
  4. Thanks PP. Ive been trying to find something decent that's close to the station but not had much luck. I'll check them out.
  5. Thanks Lois, I Tried to cram as much as I could into the trip. Shame I couldn't manage the Kimberleys too but it gives me a reason to go back another time.
  6. Haha, No time for Ayres Rock on this itinerary Jazz, I'm spending too much time at Uluru to see both. I've got a sunrise flight over and a sunset BBQ booked. I've a ginger brother so don't fair well in 40+. It certainly beats a wet January in Wales Lola! Its a shame I'm only in Perth for 12 hours, I was hoping to visit Rottnest but time doesn't allow. Any recommendations on the best hotel in Perth not too far from the east terminal? We are having a similar battle here at the moment with Snowdon. The PC brigade are trying to stop anyone using the name Snowdon and instead calling it Eryri. That would be fine if that was its Welsh name but its always been called Snowdon and Eryri is a name attributed to it only recently by the Welsh speakers. I'm just chuckling at the thought of the Welsh being First Nation people. Some are quite militant about it and insist on spelling words such as Tacsi and Ambiwlans just because they can.
  7. They need to be more specific in their wording. I'm assuming they are referring to hand held catapults. Curious that there's no restriction on Trebuchet though. One was recently spotted at a petrol station here in North Wales but they were filming the new series of House of Dragon here at the time.
  8. So January 24 plans are all signed and sealed now. Fly to Uluru on the 2nd (arrive on the 4th) 2 nights at Uluru, fly to Perth (1 night), Indian pacific for 4 nights Perth to Sydney then a trip to Broken hill (staying in the Priscilla suite at the Palace Hotel for those that know) back to Sydney for a night and then 12 nights on the Edge around NZ, Milford, Doubtful & Dusky Sound, Christchurch, Dunedin, Tauranga, Aukland, Bay of Islands and back to Sydney. 2 Nights Sydney harbour for Australia Day and I’ve got myself onto the Southern Swan for the tall ships race on Australia Day. Onto Brisbane and then 3 nights on Lady Elliot Island to finish up. The only bit; that’s gone wrong was my day trip to Antarctica on the 28th that has been cancelled. 138 days and counting!
  9. Silversea Casinos are all smoke and vape free.
  10. Just catching up sorry, but are you on the same train as me Labrasett? Indian Pacific Perth to Sydney Jan 7th to 10th?
  11. Does anybody know if a Cravate is a suitable substitute for a neck tie on formal nights? Apologies to any coolers not in the know.
  12. So sorry Lola but I just had to impart a little irrelevance into yet another thread about you know what. Sweet dreams when you find them. Xxx
  13. If I’m down to 30kg I reckon I’ll have to make do with a dozen pairs or so. I’ll have to leave anything practical behind so might end up having to traipse around Bondi beach in my dandelions.
  14. I’m still panicking that I’ve only got 30kg on my next trip. Weighing up Luggageforward for my next cruise bit (despite being on a somewhat less dressy ship) unless I find an Emirates platinum member to nominate me as a gold member in the meantime.
  15. Are you sure you read Mr Luxuries handwriting correctly on the prescription?
  16. Things could get even more complicated now because red jackets (despite being scarlet) are referred to as “pinks”. I Wonder if they are acceptable on formal night? Even more importantly would a stock pass as a tie?
  17. What a fabulous cruise. You did many of the things we did there in 2019 on the Muse. I’m glad you discovered our favourite Vouvray too. Thanks for sharing.
  18. Well it’s the only way to get through these threads! No pun intended.
  19. I Think the elegant pose would be the most becoming Spinns.
  20. And for those ladies that do want to make the effort….
  21. Many thanks, Its good to be prepared. It will be my first time on X so I'm still learning the ropes 🙂
  22. So if you're booked in a non suite and pay for a dining package service in these venues is extra? just to clarify.
