Live Celebrity Constellation 23 April 2024 Rome to Ravenna
Gia2cats replied to surfnsun's topic in Celebrity Cruises
We will be joining you onboard on April 23. -
Without going in to the long saga with Flights By Celebrity, I also will not ever use them again. And yes, it is British Airways. Our flight home is Venice to Heathrow, then Heathrow to Baltimore. Had no trouble booking seats 9 months ago on the first leg of the flight. When it came to the second leg, BA website showed all the Economy Class seats I could book. I booked Premium Economy.Could not access the PE class. And this was a month after final payment… Flights by Celebrity kept saying it was a technical issue on BA’s part. To add to the confusion, Celebrity actually booked everything through Finn Air, a partner, but we’re flying American to Italy and BA home. My travel agent and I both spent hours on the phone. I was finally able to book seats and have a PDF of the chat with BA. We shall see.

From my reading, I don’t think the cabins have been redone. One of the biggest complaints is shower curtains instead of a door. And very small older TV’s.

As I said, I have no idea what will happen. But not sure why the Captain and Cruise Director would say what they did. It honestly doesn’t matter to me. People say that the ship needs an overhaul because it’s dated. Well, so am I. And we plan to have a good time if it’s updated or not.

We are sailing Constellation on April 23, 2024. I have heard everything from a complete overhaul of rooms to nothing being done. I do know that this summer, Capt. Matt and Sue Denning said the rooms would be redone. And a poster posted an email indicating the same. Another poster then said Celebrity emailed him that nothing would be done. I asked him to post the email but he never did. So who really knows. Guess we’ll find out when we board. It definitely is scheduled for dry dock though.

Hopefully, you were able to clear this up without much hassle. If so, I’d just consider it a clerical error. But a good idea to keep an eye on one’s account.

Just another opinion here. We booked Aqua Class on Celebrity once and my husband was not a fan. To me, it was not worth the steep increase in price. Also did not use the Spa. But most people rave about Aqua. We do verandah cabins and Concierge on the M class ships since they are slightly bigger cabins. We are not foodies.

Infinity is definitely going into dry dock!

Constellation getting upgraded after the March 2024 TA. -
I had 2 excursions booked for Italy in April but the 45% off was too great to ignore. So I cancelled and rebooked for a total of 5 excursions. I was honestly surprised at how easy it was and my cancellations and new bookings were all correct. Got emails about everything. Some were booked with OBC, others with a credit card.

Sorry I wasn’t on that sailing to experience her kid running up and down the hallways. A seriously entitled woman in so many ways.

Reflection November 19 Concierge Guarantee?
Gia2cats replied to Nflder71's topic in Celebrity Cruises
It’s my understanding that you have to take the cabin you are assigned with a guarantee. You may luck out and get a great cabin, or maybe not. I always book the cabin I want and don’t look back. -

With regards to the train, both are enjoyable and the scenery is gorgeous. But I’m going to suggest another option for Skagway. We have used the Frontier Tours small busses for Skagway and they were great. Last month we had only 13 people on the bus. The nice thing about taking the bus is the numerous stops you make. You can get out and take pictures. We stopped along the road for about 10 minutes to watch 2 bears eat dandelions. And the drivers are a wealth of knowledge.

For me, it would be a big positive, as long as the work was not ongoing in such a way to interfere with the trip. But I’m sure the cruise lines have this partial refurbishment well planned out. It appears there are no sailings for 2+ weeks prior to ours.
