  1. FWIW when we were on Voyager this past spring the main pool was only a few degrees cooler than the hot tubs.
  2. FWIW, and I know this is totally personal preference, but I am not a fan of the provided L'occitane products. And as a guy I do not have super high standard by any means. I felt far cleaner with my typical costco sourced mass-brand soap and shampoo/conditioner.
  3. I didn't keep our passages, and this is going by memory from our April TA on Voyager, but a typical sea day: 2-3 games, often with/against crew (Baggo, ladder golf, putting, etc) Various cards/tournaments (bridge, casino activities) Craft activities Country Fair on one of the days Enrichment talks (I believe 2x a day) I think they did some interactive Q&A with the entertainers Trivia Mensa quizzes Ongoing scavenger hunt (this was kind of disappointing) Usually some pre/post dinner lounge entertainment Yoga/fitness activities PM shows starting at 20:30 iirc Of course, most of those were also done on port days, just less of them. I'm sure I'm forgetting some stuff. One thing I will note, We had a great time but if I did a TA cruise again I would go west bound, not east bound. Jumping the hour so often in close succession was wearing thin on me. I think westward, gaining an hour would be a far easier imho.
  4. I hope the whole backstory comes out. Thanks for linking the video OP.
  5. The guy in the background with the black shirt looks like a doppelgaenger for Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac lol
  6. I don't recall seeing any USB ports.
  7. Agree with ^^ I love all the specialty venues, but not going to lie, compass rose is probably my favourite all around. Prime 7 is great and I do enjoy it but Mrs. Slidebite says I do better steaks at home. It's certainly not the chefs skill, but I think its the quality of beef. The best beef I've ever had in a restaurant anywhere was in Chartreuse on Voyager a couple months ago. The tenderloin with seared foie gras and truffle was amazing.
  8. Oh I need to see this. Someone please post a link. It looks like someone from Engineering/maintenance is even there. Do we know where this happened? Going out on a limb here, probably something insanely stupid but well lubricated with alcohol.
  9. I hope they improve the onboard wifi networking at the same time. A good fat internet pipe won't be any better if you can't get a signal in your cabin. People needing to prop open cabin doors to get a solid signal isn't ideal.
  10. We were on Voyager a week after you guys. I think we fared far better on the weather front. The agenda was OK, country fair as described (a little blustery, probably the 2nd worst day of the trip weather wise other than leaving Bermuda) but all in all, never bored but we're not big activity people. I could see how the country fair might not be everyone's cup of tea, but some of the activities were enjoyable. They need a better system for awarding prizes though, some ppl had literal hand fulls of tickets and no place to put them down in order (especially with the wind) which made the limited time to claim a prize a more stressful experience than it should have been.
  11. No you do not. It has not been required for a while now.
  12. The one time I wish our cabin was on the port side was in Hamilton. The bars across the street keep going until the wee hours and you will still get the music in the cabin, especially if it is a Fri/Sat night. Earplugs helped, so remember to bring them if you're a light sleeper lol
  13. It's going to depend on the port and where the excursion is. We've done ports with excursions that have almost non-existant bus rides, and others pretty much 2 hours each way. It's going to depend. For example, if your port is Marseilles but you want to go to Avignon, you're going to have a fairly long bus ride, can't do much about that other than chose a different excursion. But, there will almost certainly be a choice of excursions closer than that... question is if they interest you. Only advice I can give is read the excursion descriptions carefully and if it doesn't give a bus ride distance/length, google maps the distance between your port and the excursion destination. It may very well be longer than that as that's usually direct and buses like to do a couple stops, but it should give you an idea. If your budget allows, you could always opt for a more personalized experience at many ports.
  14. The mushroom soup! I forgot about that. I truly was spectacular. The mushroom flavor was amazing.
  15. Nice to hear. The Regent rep could have totally been talking out of his behind when I spoke to him. She's in good shape, but a good update would be welcome.
  16. I was not really a Chartreuse fan either, but last month I had the Tenderloin Rossini and it was probably one of the best beef dishes I've had in my life.
  17. You are right across from I was a couple weeks ago. That is a good spot and absolutely would book again. Our shower in our veranda cabin was fantastic. Really good pressure pressure and great hot water. Might be worth investigating a bit, although I suspect the room steward runs it each time they do the room so you'd *think* they'd notice if something was off, but perhaps not?
  18. Oh darn it! I missed David by 1 cruise lol - he's probably my favourite CD.
  19. I was just on 2 weeks ago. Cruise director was Andy Heath, his wife Tammy assisted as social hostess. I forget the name of the assistant, I believe Richard..? Didn't actually see him all that much. Nice guy though, significantly younger than Andy and his wife. He played piano as well.
  20. We had this happen a few weeks ago on Voyager in CR. It was literally zero problem. Accommodation was immediate. In fact, we could have gotten into Prime 7 but we would have needed to wait a couple days. So, should be zero issue with CR barring something extraordinary, specialty restaurant may be possible depending on timelines.
  21. We just did Azores on the Voyager TA which just ended a couple weeks ago. It was nice. I'd certainly recommend as a TA stop.
  22. While I agree the cancellations are disappointing, going by the others it sure sound like you may have dodged a bullet. We were considering doing a westbound TA in the future giving preference to an itinerary with a Morocco stop, but reading these are making me think twice.
  23. Got off Voyager just a couple weeks ago. She's in great shape with exceptionally attentive crew. There is some vibration low and aft for sure (Horizon lounge?). But I've never stayed in an aft cabin so I cannot comment on that. I've stayed mid deck 7-8 and never had any issues at all or even been bothered by "vibration" when in the aft. Would it bother me if my cabin were there? I don't know, but I am a very light sleeper so maybe? I would not hesitate to book again on Voyager.
  24. I found the Compass Rose menu on our Voyager TA cruise to be generally quite good. There was almost always a change on the new daily menu that I liked. If not defaulted to an always available favourite for supper. Now, when it was tex mex day at the pool grill, that was a day we had lunch in CR lol
  25. Voyager is scheduled to drydock sometime in 2024, according to the regent future cruise rep I spoke to on board a couple weeks ago.
