  1. Same here. I think my Feb 2025 Discovery Princess cruise dropped a bit, but I can’t get passed picking a cabin, so guess I’ll be calling Princess to check. My 2026 14 day on Majestic Princess did go up quite a bit though and I didn’t have to go far to see that.
  2. I just finished a cruise on Discovery Princess. Did one previous cruise about eight or nine years ago pre medallion and this time, I really liked using the medallion as opposed to a card. I just booked another cruise and wonder if I need to order a new medallion. I presume I can reuse the lanyard, but is the medallion reusable (can Princess reset it) or is it a one time only thing?
  3. Years ago, my then husband and I cruised from Vancouver to L A on the Island Princess, sister ship to the Pacific Princess. What I remember most about that cruise is that, as the ship left the dock in Vancouver, the Love Boat theme song played…over and over…and over…😁
  4. I received 8 emails. I think someone’s cat sat on the “send” button. 😁
  5. I have only done one cruise on Princess, but have another booked for January 2024. I found Princess “quieter” than Carnival - no constant loud announcements, etc. Loved the International Cafe on Princess. Room on Princess seemed smaller than Carnival, but I cruise solo, so that wasn’t a big problem for me.
  6. Local tv news just had a story on the ship and said she is expected to be ready to head to Portland on Sunday.
  7. The ship is docked here in Victoria at Ogden Pier. This is where cruise ships normally dock during cruise season. The dock was supposed to undergo regular maintenance but it was put off until January so Panorama could dock there now.
  8. John Heald just announced that the Dec 9 and Dec 16 cruises have also been canceled.
  9. Thanks for the replies. At this point, I may just flip a coin as either one looks good. 🙂
  10. I haven’t done a Caribbean cruise for several years, mainly been doing Alaska and Mexican Riviera. I’m looking at doing a b2b (6 day/8 day) in January 2025 or 2026. I’m trying to decide between Vista from Port Canaveral and Magic from Miami. Both itineraries are the same, prices pretty close. Vista is a bit more, but not enough to really be the deciding factor. I usually go with an ocean view cabin. For those who have sailed both ships, what are your thoughts? Thanks.
  11. Great timing for me. I cruise April 16 on the Spirit and my current waist bag is on its last legs.
  12. John Heald just posted this: "I am pleased to say that we will be changing the VIFP Diamond and Platinum gift over to Fanny Packs (Bum Bags) for voyages starting after 4/6 for all ships other than Carnival Luminosa and Carnival Splendor which will continue to give the koozies until the new gifts arrive Down Under. And next up after this will be the Tote Bag with the same Logo. This is still to be collected from the pixels photo gallery. However, I have asked my colleagues to consider an immediate return to having it delivered to the cabin but I don’t have confirmation of this yet."
  13. I’m fine with the itineraries since I rarely get off a ship anymore regardless of the port. Will definitely try the ship, but waiting for more dates to open. It is easier and cheaper for me to do West Coast cruises, too.
  14. I've done 3 cruises to Alaska on Carnival and I have yet to see any rowdiness.
  15. Log in to the website. Go to "Booking and Order Details" for your cruise and it should be on that page. Click on the "edit order" button and you can remove the reservation.
  16. If you can, make the cruise a b2b and book the 2 day Bahama cruise January 26. There are LOTS of people doing this, myself included.
  17. Have you tried the brunch potatoes instead of the hash browns? They aren't available on the regular breakfast menu, which is a shame. I much prefer the brunch potatoes.
  18. Also, if you are seated with others, and you know in advance you won’t be at dinner the next night (you have specialty restaurant reservations, for example), please let the servers know so the other diners aren’t waiting for you.
  19. Me, too. Princess does it. I've never understood why Princess can but Carnival can't. They are both under the Carnival Corp. umbrella.
  20. I’ve had one of the 4K cabins. Just be aware that crew do, on occasion, walk along the catwalk outside the cabin. Bit of a shock if you aren’t expecting to see someone outside your window. 😁
  21. I use wheelchair assistance when I fly and they will take you to pick up your luggage, then take you just outside. I thought some services were allowed to pick up right at that location, but with construction at LAX, that may have changed. Check with the limo or service you choose.
  22. For those who enjoy this brand of Canadian whisky, John Heald posted a response to someone’s question saying that starting this weekend (Oct29), the distributor is returning Crown Royal to every ship.
  23. Posted on John Heald’s FB page: My apologies. You will have seen that we no longer have full bottle liquor sales available on pre order. Hard liquor is no longer available for pre-order on our Fun Shops. All existing sales will be honored and guests can still pre-order up to two bottles of wine for onboard delivery and consumption. You can still of course purchase from the shops on board and ashore and these of course are not for use on board. I know this maybe frustrating for a few of you but I am sure everyone will understand why we need to do this. Cheers
  24. Looking forward to your review. I did the Panama Canal on Carnival Pride in 2009 (LA to Miami) and have the April 2023 Spirit cruise from Miami to Seattle booked. I was quite happy when they changed from Freedom to Spirit. Much prefer the smaller ship.
